Insane to think this comment might reach anyone, but this episode has unlocked so many crazy memories from my childhood/teen years.
Chris is a huge inspiration of mine when I was finding my voice in music, and understanding songwriting. I vividly remember dissecting songs to hear harmonies/voice lines/guitars/bass/drums/specific riffs.
BUT! The reason I even felt the need to comment in the first place was that my Aunt/Uncle also personally know Martin Sheen! They have told me so many stories of him boarding at their house and being such a kind a gentile soul, and they still keep in touch! (as far as I know.) I wish my memory was good enough to share some better stories.
Anyway, great podcast. This is the first episode I have seen, and now I'm excited to see/listen to more!
OG fans know it was Further Seems Forever that initially earned him the “emo godfather title.” No matter which band it is, he’s a fantastically unassuming frontman and I love to see him still making music. Great episode!
Very true!
Stop. No one listened to further seems forever before dashboard became popular. FSF is a Christian rock band that didn’t even receive radio airtime. They were a band for a year and a half year before he split.
That hurts because I listened to them in middle school (only with CC as frontman) and “just before sundown” didn’t feel Jesusy to me. Maybe you could use some Jesus
So true, just an overall sincere, genuine, good guy. Love him.❤️
First of all, who would have guessed that Amanda, who has that beautiful Southern belle aura and enviable manicures, once went through an emo phase? I love how she geeked out at meeting Dashboard Confessional! I still remember how "Vindicated" brought Chris Carrabba into the spotlight when "Spiderman 2" came out, and loved watching him play it on this episode nearly twenty years later. He is such a humble musician, and the stories that he and Melissa told about their respective interactions with U2's Bono and Martin Sheen, and how they incited them to emulate kindness in the industry, were very much in tune with the soulful vibe of this episode.
11:34 'NOT A PHASE' LOL
This is the best podcast out there right now! Thanks for making long, fun , and interesting content!
Thank you for listening and taking the time to comment! 💖
Ladies, you really set the bar high with this one. Awesome podcast!! Keep at it!!🥰🥰🥰
Thank you! 😊
Chris is seriously one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met. Famous or not. This dude is a genuinely great person
Because of Chris, I actually moved over to Martin guitars! Amazing video! His new album is amazing.
OH MY LANTA!!!! NO WAY!!! I Love Chris Carrabba! How'd you get him on your podcast??!?!?!?!? ❤🥰❤🥰
Believe it or not, our sound producer Matt ran into him at the Spider Man movie!
Love it and love how personable you both are!!!
Thank you so much!
Great episode, again, Ladies!! Makes my Wednesday so much better!!
Thank you for listening!
Love this episode!
When Melissa was talking about waiting to record a song off the radio... I still have a cassette tape of her version of "One Way or Another" with the DJ talking on the beginning and the end!😂😂😂😂
Just a tid bit for all, check with your local library and see if they participate in Imagination Library. There are a lot of libraries participating in this where you can sign up your kids or grandkids if the library district participates. Enjoyed your show as always!
I’ll never be able to hear the good fight the same again!
Same. You read the lyrics and 🤯
1:06:55 Chris just shared a tough, traumatic experience got a bit emotional when the people that help him recovered attended his first gig in a long time and the host just proceeded to share another of her experience. This would have been way better if Chris got to speak more. She's ok i think but this is just an observation. On other i think better podcasts guests get the priority to tell stories if they feel it.
This is so great! Seeing Dashboard next week!!
LOL you said "beef tenderloin". All I can think of is Christmas In Handcuffs!
I love opening bands. I discovered This Wild Life from opening for Dashboard
And for that matter I found Further Seems Forever from opening for someone else summer 2001 (I don’t even remember who the headliner was.) My buddy bought the CD and we realized that the singer on the CD wasn’t the singer at the show. I found out he was doing a solo thing called Dashboard Confessional. He’s been my favorite ever since.
I don't want to be rude, but the bonde had no idea who was talking to. Chris is a legend internationally, she was talking down to him for zero reason
Greetings from El Salvador! it was a good conversation
Wow! Dashboard Confessional fans in El Salvador? I was born there and immigrated to Texas when I was 14. DC was a big part of my life in the 2000s.
Tell Chris Bonnie from Boca Raton says HI.
Andrew Garfield is the true Spiderman

Fun fact... Chris Carrabba's father is non other than Dr Jordan Peterson... The resemblance is uncanny.....
