    Revell USA 1939 Chevy Sedan Delivery Hot Rod 427 V8 14529 85-4529 4529 RMX4529
The Chevrolet Master and Master Deluxe are American passenger vehicles manufactured by Chevrolet between 1933 and 1942 to replace the 1933 Master Eagle. It was the more expensive model in the Chevrolet range at this time, with the Standard Mercury providing an affordable product between 1933 and 1937.[1] Starting with this generation, all GM cars shared a corporate appearance as a result of the Art and Color Section headed by Harley Earl.[1] From 1940 a more expensive version based on the Master Deluxe was launched called the Special Deluxe. The updated corporate appearance introduced a concealed radiator behind a façade with a grille.
This was the last Chevrolet that was exported to Japan in knock down kits and assembled at the company's factory in Osaka, Japan before the factory was appropriated by the Imperial Japanese Government. When Toyota decided to develop their own sedan called the Toyota AA, a locally manufactured Master was disassembled and examined to determine how Toyota should engineer their own cars.[2][3] In May 1925 the Chevrolet Export Boxing plant at Bloomfield, New Jersey was repurposed from a previous owner where Knock-down kits for Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick and Cadillac passenger cars, and both Chevrolet and G. M. C. truck parts are crated and shipped by railroad to the docks at Weehawken, New Jersey for overseas GM assembly factories.
    1939 (series JA and JB)
The Master returned for 1939. The Master Deluxe was now the JA, while the base model was renamed the Master 85 (JB). A station wagon was first offered, though its construction had been contracted to Mid States Body Corp.[10]
Body Styles[11] Master 85: 4dr Sport Sedan, 2dr Coach, 2dr Business Coupe, Station Wagon
Master Deluxe: 4dr Sport Sedan, 2dr Coach, 2dr Business Coupe, 2dr Four-Passenger Coupe, Station Wagon
Powertrain Engine: Valve in head, 85 hp, Six Cylinders, 3.5" bore x 3.75" Stroke, Carter single down-draft carburettor
    Transmission: 3 speed manual, Syncro-Mesh, floor-shifted, vacuum-assisted column-shift optional
    Dimensions Wheelbase: 112.25 in
This was the last series of trucks and medium-duty vehicles that shared an appearance with Chevrolet passenger coupes and sedans, and were replaced with the AK Series trucks. The first truck body style was introduced in 1918 as the Chevrolet Series 490 using the same approach used by the Ford Model TT. Each year a Chevrolet Series was introduced, the chassis was also available with a cargo bed body style.

That's how I recall them, the *Coupe* and the *Sedan* *Delivery* , in those respective colours. IIRC, they were both 'updated' in c.1987 with then-new wheels (not a fan) and tyres (to the wider Good Year Rallye GTs).
The coupe has a supercharger; the delivery has the tunnel ram -- not sure if those were "switched" around c.1987.
*Great* build up, *Chris* ! Excellent colour choices (I love Ivory on these 1930's vehicles) and tasteful touches (glad that you added Molotow to the running boards' trim).

Now that I am older I think I can do it justice that my young self couldn't. That's funny... when I first clicked on this video and saw the color I thought A&W Root Beer truck, and then it has root beer decals in it. The rear wheels were off center on real cars. It had something to do with the rear shackles. When you added weight to the vehicle, you flatten out the springs. Seeing as the front of the springs were mounted solid, the wheels would be forced back into the center of the wheel well. Oh and for future reference those lights on the bumper are fog lights and should be painted yellow or light amber. Nice job as always 👏 👍

Glad you did the "Cherry bombs". They look great on this kit! My one wish is they would do a two door "Bustle Trunk" sedan body for this series of kits!

I wonder if that is what the second window set is for. The front end goes a good job of lining up to the window frame, but the back is slightly wider than the space of the delivery interior, and the back of the door opening doesn’t line up for this kit. That still leaves what the “moon-eye” windows are supposed to fit…

The red Thrush brand glass pack mufflers are sweet. The swan on the hood - nice choice (real popular in the 1950's). My dad had a Swan hood ornament with plastic wings that lit up. He owned over 150 cars in his life (not all at once - no more that ten at a time). Anyway, he would mount that Swan on his favorite car of the week. Nice touch. I ordered the kit and I'm gunna use the Swan, but I'm wondering about lighting it...

You could cast it in clear resin and run a mini LED up inside it.

Good color choice. I'm digging it. I built this kit way back in the late 80's. It had different decals and wheels, but it was basically the same kit. Maybe Revell re-did the molds/tooling? Btw, this has "bothered" me a long time: You're not using the panel line wash correct. You're supposed to let it dry, and after it's dry wipe off excess wash. I use a cotton bud and odourless mineral spirits for the purpose. I bet You've read this before, but I had to comment this.

LOL, no one has tried to tell me how to use my black wash before you.
There is no 'proper' way to use it. Use it in the way that will give you the results you desire.
      Thanks for watching.

Got the '39 Coupé Street rod. Twice. One is built but suffered chrome loss during its stay in the humid basement of my folks' previous house and the second one is unbuild. Seems the coupé and sedan use the same wheels. Engines are different, hood and body + interior are different. They MIGHT have modded the fender part so that it get from a 2 seater (or was it a full bench?) as to make it a delivery. Was a fun one to build (which is why I have another one), so I guess this one is really fun to build too. The original coupé date from 1979 and what I've found is that the sedan was made in 2005, as a low rider from the coupé' molds (which explain why it use the coupé's wheels, as a low rider, it had lr wheels ) and the kit wasn't re-released between then and the edition you have in your hands. Scalemate still haven't included this release on their kit's history tree page yet.
As always, awesome build. Your build would fit well in front of a A&W restaurant diorama.

Addon: Things didn't add up for me, with the Low Delivery being the first edition of the delivery version, so I checked around a little bit more and found out that the ORIGINAL release of that kit was under Monogram in 1978. So, I dunno if there was lots of changes made to the original release along the years before it was released as the version you have. But yeah. This kit's original first release is in '78. Scalemate's pages about the Coupe and the Delivery are not linked to one another, so it's kind of odd. But even on that page, they still haven't updated this edition as a new entry.

It's nice that you've offered to buy me all new camera equipment, do you want my address to send a few cameras to be used on the show, or do you expect me to spend thousands of dollars to make a video that you watch for free?

I see that the wheels were primed with flat back, but then next thing I know, they are shiny and being painted with matte clear. Did I miss the step where they are painted between priming and topcoating? What paint was used? Thanks

    Fantastic build as always.
    Does it have door panels?
    I never saw them.
Great model. This is expected from Revell. Can't wait to build one myself.

I notice you only focus on THREE THINGS - details, details and details. As a result, you impart a lot of realism, again because of the details. Thanks a bunch, I'm pre-ordering mine - March is not that far off and it'll take that long to clear my bench. Until next time....

Lovely kit. Question. Why did you use Mod Podge for the emblem but locktite for the engine and other parts?
