    THE PERFECT PRESENT: Don't know what to get dad for his birthday? Or maybe you have an avid hobbyist or collector in your life. This model kit makes an ideal gift for any occasion!
    The term 1932 Ford may refer to three models of automobile produced by Ford Motors between 1932 and 1934: the Model B, the Model 18, and the Model 40. These succeeded the Model A. The Model B had an updated four-cylinder engine and was available from 1932 to 1934. The V8 was available in the Model 18 in 1932, and in the Model 40 in 1933 & 1934. The 18 was the first Ford fitted with the flathead V-8. The company also replaced the Model AA truck with the Model BB, available with either the four- or eight-cylinder engine.
    The three car models were replaced by the streamlined Model 48 in 1935 which used the same chassis as its predecessor. The 1937 Ford would be the last to use the old 1932 chassis until 1940 when the car line of Ford was completely redesigned.
    The 1934 Ford (the Model 40B) was not as substantial a model year change as the previous two years had been. Noticeable changes included a flatter grille with a wider surround and fewer bars, straight hood louvers, two handles on each side of the hood, smaller head lights and cowl lamps, and a reworked logo. The bare metal dash insert was replaced by painted steel.[9]
    V‑8 output was again increased, this time to 85 hp (63 kW), and the four-cylinder Model B engine was in its last year, as was the Victoria body style; nevertheless, there were fourteen body options, the Tudor being top-seller.[4] The standard three-window coupe was deleted.[9]
    Deluxes had pinstriping, again twin (chromed) horns, and twin back lights.[9] Inside, they got more elaborate wood graining.
    The 1934 Ford V-8 is infamous for being the vehicle in which the notorious Depression-era bandits Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were ambushed and killed.[12] Barrow preferred to steal the powerful Ford V-8, and was driving a 1934 sedan on May 23, 1934, when a heavily armed law enforcement posse opened fire and riddled the pair with bullets and buckshot in Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

    This kit predates the 700R4 trans by a bunch. That trans is a Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" 4 speed manual.

    I remember retouching, and restoring the 34 Ford Hot/Rod ZZZ/Top,car,l custom designed, and built a 87 Firebird interior, and or Frame as,well l had to cut Frame to work, the blown small block chevy, with matching blower, and or supercharger,fit very well ,with no clearance issues 🤔, although a l had to reuse the ZZZ/Top centerline wheels, l had to remake a trunk panel it worked, but this was pre/UA-cam.

    The stock version is kit 8214 last issued in the mid 00s. And the hot rod tires are better in the 90s releases IMO.
    But this decal sheet is pretty good in this release.

    • @purpurahaze9179
      @purpurahaze9179 11 місяців тому

      @chrislongbeard I kind of like these tires better than the Gatorbacks. I guess because a lot of kits from the late 80's to mid 90's had them even if it wasn't a new vehicle at the time

      @urbanurchin5930 11 місяців тому

      Thanks for the heads-up on the stock version. Of course, any one that is half way competent at kit bashing - and has a sufficient stash of
      extra parts - could easily convert this street rod kit into a stock version. Modeling is about expressing your creativity....don't get wrapped up in box stock only !

    Back in the 80s AMT made a box set of 3 kits. A 40 ford panel truck, a 37 chevy you could build as a convertible or hardtop and this kit. But I think you could build all three stock or custom.

    • @dustymojave
      @dustymojave 11 місяців тому +1

      I was just looking 0:47 at that triple kit in my inventory 3 days ago. The 34 coupe can ONLY be built with the a-arm front. Same identical kit to here except for Goodyear Gatorade tires and different decal sheet. Stock 34 coupe kit I haven't pulled out for a while IIRC only builds stock. Doesn't mean you can't mix in parts from other sources to build however you want. BTW, in my box with the triple hotrod kit there are 3 more 34 coupe hotrod kits. I'm thinking of using the front of the cab and the whole front clip with the back of the cab from an AMT/Lindberg 34 pickup to build a 34 pickup with passenger car front. The 37 Chevy in that triple hotrod kit is a convertible only. It comes with a top that's 'up. It doesn't come with a coupe roof like both AMT and Monogram 36 Fords.

      The trans and engine are listed as a 383 stroker and a 700-R4 in the manual, so that's what I read on the video. Thanks for watching. :)

      The edges of the side panels on the body area are so large, they just may sit on their own. If not, a teeny dab of 'blue tack' or poster putty, like a pinhead would hold them there.

    Am fairly new to model car building but I see you are using Rust Oleum paint. I recently heard that paint is not the best for plastic models. I'd like options because Tamiya and Testors paints are about $14 a can where I live.

      There are many other channels that demonstrate how to use different paints, finger nail polish, etc.
