    Congratulations on completing it!
    Your work was very clean and beautiful this time as well.
    Although I wasn't familiar with the car itself, I thought it looked like a fun kit.
    By the way, your quiz is very fun. My accuracy rate is low, but my knowledge is deepening!
    Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching my content! I'm delighted that you enjoyed the build and the quiz. Initially, I also perceived this kit as more of a fun project, but it appears there are various ways to approach it; it could be crafted into either a whisky barrel truck or an ice-cream truck. Opting for the latter seemed unique to me as I hadn't seen a project like that before! 😄 While you could certainly push the boundaries with this kit by weathering it, adding seat belts, or flocking on the floor, I decided to keep it simple for this build. 😊 By the way, regarding the quiz, I hadn't anticipated it to be as popular, so I'm pleasantly surprised to receive your feedback on it! 😄 Which type of content do you find more engaging: the shorts about Porsche cars with questions or the posts with quizzes asking which Porsche model appeared in which movie? 🤔

      Sometimes it's difficult to keep it simple and maintain it until it's completed.
      During the construction process, I often end up focusing on the details, and this often ends up being the reason it takes so long to complete.😅
      The process of building a classic car is like watching the TV series Wheeler Dealers.
      I can't wait to see how your kits are built, waiting for you to assemble them.
      Your quiz content will not only help you learn more about the history of Porsche, but also give you an idea of what Porsches look like in the movies.
      I think it would be best for your quiz to be randomly chosen from your extensive Porsche knowledge.👍
      By doing so, my knowledge of Porsche will further deepen and I will love Porsche even more.

      Fully agree, once you add seatbelts, you tend to add them to every scale car. Once you do the weathering, you are tempted to do it in the next projects :D Once you see the difference between the real car and the kit, you try to fill this gap :D I know what you mean :D Great idea! I will gather some random fun facts about Porsche and make another quiz :) Thanks! I have recently checked your channel; your modeling skills are awesome. I will watch some of your content and probably pick up some tips as well :) Thanks!

    Are you able to advise: if you are using Tamiya acrylic, how long would you wait before removing masking tape?
    And, still using Tamiya acrylic, if you removed the tape and wanted to do another new coat: how long would you wait before reapplying the tape?
    I have stuffed up a paint job by leaving masking tape on way too long because I was doing multiple coats over a few days. I have now stuffed up again because I tried to remove the tape too early ( couple of hours) and left prints on the new paint. It had felt dry.

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  5 місяців тому

      Hi John, I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with painting and using masking tapes. I can imagine how frustrating it must be to spend hours masking, only to end up with unsatisfactory results. Based on my experience, there are a couple of factors that could impact the masking process. Firstly, the thickness of the paint layer, the time needed for it to completely dry, and the adhesiveness of the masking tape. Regarding the thickness of the paint layer, fingerprints or residue from the masking tape can occur if the paint layer is too thick and hasn't dried completely. In such cases, the paint behaves like foam, retaining its position when gently touched. Next, the drying time is crucial. If the paint hasn't dried completely, it may transfer onto your fingers upon contact. Another factor is the adhesiveness of the masking tape. Sometimes, the glue residue can be left behind when peeling off the tape. That's why I always weaken the masking tape's adhesion by sticking it on my hand or cutting mat before applying it to the model. Now, onto your question! The drying time depends on the number of paint layers and how they are applied. I typically use a 1:1 ratio of Tamiya acrylic paint with a 0.3 airbrush at a maximum of 15 PSI. The airbrush is set for the smallest spot size, and the perfect layer, for me, is when the paint hits the surface and almost immediately dries, appearing wet initially but becoming flat within a few seconds. I usually apply several layers to the model and then, after a day, I apply the masking tape. I've never left any masking tape on for longer than an hour, and if there are multiple layers of different colors, I wait a day or two before applying the tape. However, I've never heard about any issues with leaving the masking tape on for longer than a few days. In cases where there are issues with prints on the paint, the solution usually lies in refining the painting process. Fingers crossed for your next attempts! :) Don't give up, keep on modeling, and remember that it should bring you comfort and relaxation. If it doesn't, take a break and come back after a few days. :)

      @@AdHocCarsmany thanks and well said.
      I've had a lot of issues with this model most of them of my doing. You are right in that I should set it aside for a bit; perhaps work on something else. Right now it's become a bit of a chore.

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  4 місяці тому

      That's right! I believe it can be hard to take a break. My personal attitude doesn't allow me to stop; I keep on trying and trying, even if the outcome is getting worse and worse. I repeat the same steps over and over, faster and faster, hoping that I will get to the point where I accept it, but unfortunately, it only increases the frustration. It is at that moment that taking a break is mandatory. :D And most importantly,
      Thanks a lot for the coffee! You really made my day😊😊
