    Hi Lynn, thank you so much for doing a review on this vest! You’re so thorough and thoughtful. I really appreciate your honesty. I’m also in Phoenix AZ. Running in the summer here is no joke.

    Thank you for reviewing!! I have been wondering about it! This vest is Nathan's newest/upgraded hydration vest since I think they're going to phase out the VaporHowe/Krars. I've been wanting to upgrade from my VaporHowe 4L and my Ultimate Direction UltraVesta and this seems perfect. I am ALL about the pockets! Nathan really has the comfort aspect down, but if only they put those trekking pole bungees on it. Glad you found a work-around :)

    Thanks for reviewing this one! I’m probably going to get the 4L but wish it came in this color. Nathan is so comfortable. I’ve tried Salomon and Ultimate direction but keep coming back to the Nathan Vaporhowe. Have fun doing Rim to Rim!

    I've been unsure if I should get this bag, but now I think this will be perfect for my all day adventures where I run and hike. Thanks for reviewing! I have a 7l Nathan pack, but now need something with more space for the big adventures.
    Oh, and this won't help you for a bag for your R2R, but the original Nathan Vaporairess has the bungee cords on the outside of the pack with pole attachments (this is the one I use). It's available on Amazon. I still use my original Vaporairess that is now 5 years old. I loved it so much I bought the same style again on Amazon a few months ago. I really think Nathan should bring back that exact style since it is better than their current Vaporairess, in my opinion. But it is only 7l so it may not be large enough for your R2R though. Still thought I would share since you were after the pole attachments.

    Hi! Thanks so much for your awesome review! I'm having back chaffing with my Nathan vapoarress and am looking at this as a possibility. Your review was very helpful. I'm short though (barely 5 feet) and short waisted. The other pack just falls wrongand chews my back up. I'm going to look at your other videos too. I live your personality!! Happy trails! Johna

    I just watched your video, curious if you still liking the 12 liter Pinnacle? I'm the same height as you and 5-10 lbs heavier (depending on week:)). Wondering if the XS was just right for you loaded up or would you recommend the small? According to sizing I'm a xs in the bust and borderline small/medium for the sternum. I wear XS in Solomon (unsex) and sm in Ultimate Direction.

      I am still liking it. When I was fully packed out for Rim to Rim (50 ounces of water, two collapsables in front, about 10 tubes of Tailwind & small first aid kit in my pack) it was a little tight. I couldn't quite fit my poles in there. However, I needed to use my poles the entire rim to rim event, so it worked out. Everything was great about the pack (pockets, accessibility, etc). If I wouldn't have carried so much water in the back bladder, I could have fit my poles. But I don't like the taste of the water provided in the Canyon, so I wanted to drink my own. LOL! :) When I'm using it for my shorter runs and don't have everything packed out to the max, the XS is perfect. I have everything almost on the tightest notch. Hope this helps!

    Excellent review...thank you. I just got mine in yesterday and looking fw to first run in it. I have same poles and was also curious how it would work going inside vs outside clip. Please update if you found a different place or position that work better for your poles. Thanks again 👍

      Yeah, the poles situation for this pack are unfortunate. I do put them in that LONG spot, but CAN'T if my pack is super full. So that's a problem. So, depending on my route and how full I need to pack my pack with supplies, determines if I hand-carry my poles or shove them in that slot.

    Hi , thanks for the review. Have you adjusted your vest with extra velcro? And are you still happy yo put your poles in the large pocket on the back? I would be keen to see!

      I didn’t end up being happy with the pole situation on this pack so I got a different one with specific pole carriers. This pack is still amazing though. Just not if you need poles. ❤️

    Hi Lynn, great review! I've been using the VaporHowe packs for a couple of years and have been needing another new pack for the longer adventures. May I ask what brand of readers you have? I've been trying to find a lightweight, sporty pair to easily fold into running pack. Thanks!

    • @LynnRushWrites

      I got a cheap pair of readers from Amazon: www.amazon.com/Optimum-Optical-Magnifier-Necklace-Turquoise/dp/B01D3JPUSG I just shove them into a pocket. :)

    Great review!! Did the flasks slide down as you ran?

    • @LynnRushWrites
      @LynnRushWrites  3 роки тому

      The soft flasks do not because they're insulated so they have kind of this rigid spine type. The normal ones DO slide down and it's rather annoying. :)

    Curious how you like this now that you have been using it for a while! Just curious as I watched this if the poles would fit horizontally through that velcro hole that you pointed out in the lower part of the back pocket. Thanks!

    • @LynnRushWrites
      @LynnRushWrites  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Lindsey. I am still loving it. I did Weatherford Trail a couple weeks ago and had my pack pretty full (not to capacity) and my poles still didn't fit. However, by the time I was to the peak and needed to start heading down the trail, I'd consumed enough water to lighten the pack and the poles fit in the back zipper portion. I'm still very happy with this vest; however, I think I will seek out a bigger one with capacity to hold the poles OUTSIDE the pack for my 18-hour adventure in the canyon come October. Unless Nathan comes out with a bigger pack--I can only hope. :)

    I personally think, she is wasting her time with that NATHAN vest. No runner I know carries a water bladder or do they have their poles inside a vest.
