    Yeap there's really good deals! With my bass pro club card/credit card I got 106sv for 899. & Earned 42$ on my card. It does come with gt54 but I already found a gt56 & ordered it for $310. Which way cheaper than it would have been. Will b awesome set up for my Hobie kayak!

      @@InstinctBassin yep I'm stoked about it & ready to start wiring & rigging it all up! I got amped outdoors 32ah 14.8v lithium battery. Only weighs 4lbs! I also have a steady cast on the way & I'm ordering the Lvs34 after Christmas. It's going be an awesome set up. I've been kayak fishing 8yrs now finally bought myself some electronics...

    After running the wires through the hole you cut in the deck, did you apply silicone or another sealer to cover the wires and gole before installing the clam shell to keep water out?

      I didn’t, but it’s probably not a bad idea.

    My problem is running the transponder cable to the transom down the side of the boat from the console. Its an old Ranger (1991), and they really didn't put a channel along the side to run cables, other than the steering cable and power cables which run down that side and are loose. So when I attempt to run a wire or thick rope down the side, it keeps getting caught on those cables... ugh!

    • @InstinctBassin
      @InstinctBassin  Рік тому +1

      That can certainly be a challenge, but you can do it. I'm not sure how tough it would be, but you could in theory always disconnect the power cable from the battery (if it runs to the console), then tie a snake or rope to the end where it was connected to the battery, then pull the power cable back through to the console, then wrap the transducer wire to it and use the rope to pull them all back through. Just a thought.

    I’ve got a console flush mounted 93sv and no unit on the bow of an Avid bass boat I just purchased. I also just purchased the Navionics subscription and connected Active Captain. The flush mount screen is blocked somewhat by the steering wheel while driving. I noticed that your boat has a cover over what appears to be a flush mount unit. I’m thinking that the side RAM mount that you have would enable me to view the screen better. I'm not sure what to do with the hole left in the console however. I haven't remove the flush mount unit but I'm doubting that the U shape bracket is still attached, which I would need for the RAM mount. Can that U-shaped bracket be purchased separately?
    Question: If I purchase another 93sv for the bow and connect them would I attach the G54 transducer to the trolling motor and both units would share the Navionics maps.
    I have a Striker 4 Plus I use on a small boat which I may mount temporarily until I purchase the 2nd 93sv.

      @InstinctBassin  Рік тому +1

      The old unit in my dash isn’t connected, and I plan on removing it soon. These folks ashmoremarine.com make great looking panels to replace holes like that. I’m sure they could make one for your boat as well.

    • @InstinctBassin
      @InstinctBassin  Рік тому +1

      I’m pretty sure you could order just the bracket for the 93SV so you could mount it on a RAM mount. Contact Garmin, or look on one of the Garmin User Group pages on Facebook.

    Can you run 2 negatives to one female disconnect and 2 positives to the other and
    connect to lithium battery using female disconnect? I have livescope and a chartplotter I want to run to one battery but need to disconnect easily for battery hence the female disconnect?

    • @InstinctBassin
      @InstinctBassin  Рік тому

      I don’t have Livescope yet or a Lithium battery, but it seems if you want to disconnect easily, alligator clips would be the easiest way to do it.

    The manual suggests 10 guage power wire. How do you connect 10 ga to the 18 ga power wire they come with?

    • @InstinctBassin
      @InstinctBassin  Рік тому +1

      10 gauge will work great, but unless you’re using Livescope, or making a really long run, 14 would probably be fine. That said, a wire to wire butt connector with heat shrink would be the way to go.

    I just purchased my second lvs 106 I want to link them together and I want to get the panoptix plus with them linked together will I be able to view the panoptix on both units at the same time

    • @InstinctBassin
      @InstinctBassin  Рік тому

      If I’m following you correctly, yes. You have 2 106sv and 1 Livescope transducer right? In theory you should be able to see it on both screens, but you will need to tell one of the 106s to show the Livescope from that the unit it’s plugged into. That can be done in network settings. This isn’t something commonly done though, so I’m not positive about it. Good luck!

      Yeah didn’t work great, so I moved it. The other fishfinder I had when I bought the boat was wired there, so I just did it the same way. But yeah, direct to battery or at least console fuse panel is better.

    Word of warning. Those mounting screws are soft! I stripped the head of the port screw using my drill and had it set light but it still stripped. The screw was almost tight so I got away popping a snap ring in between the screw head and bracket.
