If there is any wrong bits of information I may have attempted to pass off as fact, please reply here and I'll do my best to hopefully make up for it in the next video!
I have 3 "corrections" that I'm speculating. Death of Rock Band: 2 - While it's true that it was cut short, we did know it was going to die after the acquisition. We were just unfortunately waiting for it. God Damn - A7X's song "God Damn" title and store listening listing is completely uncensored. But singing in game is censored. ???/Dream Genie guitar charts - As for Dream Genie, the guitar chart is made up because....THE GUITAR DOESN'T EXIST! Lightning Bolt is a duo band that consists a Bassist (Brian Gibson) and a Drummer (Brian Chippendale). So they had to create a chart from the ground up if that makes sense. The guitar chart has sustains in the "breakdown" parts other than that, it's the same chart as Bass.
I believe the reason for the censoring inconsistencies is more about whether HMX got sent a premade radio edit or if they had to bring it up to censoring guidelines themselves. It seems goddamn is covered under the game's age rating but radio/labels have different (and quicker fluctuating) standards. As a second note, I don't believe the drum rocker was made under Alesis. I've never seen an Alesis branded model and couldn't find any through searching. I believe it was made by Ion Audio (though they were both acquired by InMusic later on, and confusingly sold the same product under 2 labels at least once. Stupid OEM product shenanigans or something similar, probably). Besides that, people often recommend an alesis kit as a beginner ekit for pro drums which definitely doesn't help to distinguish them. Finally I believe the point of the frame rate test is just about what it says on the tin. A test of the game's framerate under the most strenuous conditions you'd expect during normal gameplay (or even slightly more strenuous). Just making sure the game'll actually run properly when it hits store shelves. There exist even crazier framerate tests on UA-cam for RB3 and DJ Hero and likely other games, but I haven't checked if those are official or fan created. (I'm pretty confident in this info but the Ion/Alesis thing was a bit shaky)
So some things I want to point out with these entries Tier 1: -instruments are game-agnostic: this my vary from system to system but on Rock Band 1 for Wii this was not the case. Rock Band 1 DEMANDED you have a Stratocaster controller in order to play the game. You couldn't use the GH Controllers (this is from personal experience and as a note I had official GH Controllers on Wii back then so these were not any knock off controllers) Tier 3: -Full Album DLC: Nirvana's Nevermind technically isn't fully on Rock Band. What I mean by this is the fact 2 of their songs are live versions (Lithium and Come As You Are) and Endless, Nameless is just not there (granted I know Endless, Nameless is a stretch cause Green Day's Dookie doesn't come with its secret track but this is but a technicality anyways so I might as well add that). And to point out a Harmonix mess up, despite The No Doubt Singles Collection being sold as a "Complete Album" it's actually missing Trapped in a Box from their Debut. But Tragic Kingdom is available in its entirety on Rock Band through DLC (Don't Speak, Sunday Morning, Excuse Me Mr., Spiderwebs and Just a Girl dawning the Singles Collection album art). A little extra information for ya. -I Still Believe: This may be the fault of the person that made the Iceberg chart but it is worth mentioning "I Still Believe" wasn't the only song released on Rock Band 3 to signal Rock Band's Return. In fact, 2 weeks before that song, there were 5 songs you could pick up in Rock Band 3. Jan 13, 2015 saw "R U Mine?" by Arctic Monkeys, "Shepherd of Fire" by Avenged Sevenfold and "Something from Nothing" by Foo Fighters and Feb 17, 2015 saw "Rize of the Fenix" by Tenacious D and "Back to the Shack" by Weezer which then led to the true final song of Rock Band 3 I Still Believe. -Kung Fu Fighting's (Lack of) Album Art: Kung Fu Fighting got the same thing as DEVO. It's a random black and white picture of Carl Douglas looking at the camera
Something to add about Checking Setlist. What is was, more specifically, was that when a setlist was made in Rock Band 4 online quickplay, and the lobby tried to advance to difficulty selection, the game would just say "checking setlist" and refuse to advance. Nobody knew why it would happen, and it seemed that the only "fix" was to back out and try again, and it only worked every so often. The most pathetic thing about this is that it took a total of THREE PATCHES for the bug to be dead for good.
I got a few corrections! Tier 1: 7:09 - the Airstrike Drums from Power Gig "technically" works in Rock Band, but waving the sticks over the sensors doesn't register any notes. you can only play notes by using the face buttons. Tier 2: 31:06 - the PDP adapter allows the 360 MIDI adapter to enable e-kit support for RB4. this is not the same as the legacy adapter. because the PDP adapter is so rare and expensive, a player known as bookreader52 took it into their own hands and developed a workaround so you can have e-kit support in RB4 at a much cheaper price - the roll limitless adapter. i highly recommend getting one because it's extremely versatile for not just RB4 but all other legacy RB/GH titles 32:30 - while using freestyle vocals helps fill the pie faster, it does not grant you more points over not using it. it kinda just assists you in completing a phrase more than anything. Tier 3: 54:05 - while vocalists can still play on All Instruments Mode, the difficulty is set to easy and doesn't contribute to scoring. so they're included, but also partially left out lol 58:00 - two other RBN tracks - I Couldn't Explain Why by Citizen Cope and Blow At High Dough by The Tragically Hip - cost $3 to purchase, so i'm not sure why they weren't included on the iceberg. Tier 4: 1:05:04 - Snoop's Upside Ya Head was still purchasable using a Greek XBL account up until around 2018. This was the only workaround and prevented it from being the most rare DLC released (that being the RB4 versions of Appetite by The Gracious Few and Don't Feel Like That Anymore by Johnny Cooper)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Presentation was very important to me and is the biggest reason it took as long as it did to come out. Hopefully next part wont take as long 😅
1:24:46 - calling RB4's death "rushed" seems a bit off when you see that they released weekly DLC from 2015-2024. That's an insane length of time - longer than the entire span of RB1-RB3's output with official content. It was not rushed. It was frankly delayed years past when it reasonably should've stopped, and my theory is it would've stopped years before if it wasn't for Festival releasing and wanting to continue up until transitioning to Festival
You're certainly correct. It realistically could've (and maybe should've) ended much earlier than 2024. I do applaud HMX's amazing efforts to go for almost a near decade in the RB4 era but its sendoff was just so weak! So many things were going on before the end of RB3 it felt like a celebration, instead of just unceremoniously killing the DLC schedule to move on to bigger opportunities (even if that's what they were pretty much doing when you get down to it). Again, this explanation as well the entire entry itself is from a point of bias and there is no real leverage in my argument other than being fueled by my feelings. But when one does get down to it, its easy to see there was a lot more care put in to RB3's sendoff.
A couple of corrections for some entries on this iceberg There are no songs at least officially that lack stems. Official songs either had real stems (The majority of RB1-RB3 DLC) or DIY stems (a good chunk of RB4 era) The PDP or (Wired Legacy Adapter) does not work for all wired instruments from the 360 only the ION kit and an E-Kit with the use of the MPA. These adapters have also been outdone by a much cheaper and fan made solution known as the Roll Limitless or RL Every single RHCP song has been pulled including Give It Away which was the most recent delist being pulled as late as early 2018. Snow (Hey Oh) is still available as part of TP 2 as mentioned in the video however you could also get 5 other songs from a rare DLC code included with specific guitar bundles. A newer release from RHCP "Black Summer" was released as RB4 DLC in 2022 and is currently the only song you can get through traditional means. A few additional things to note about some entries on the iceberg Metallica had a T-shirt in RB3 for some reason alongisde And Justice for All... receiving a pro guitar upgrade Snoop's Upside Your Head was apparently pulled due to an unlicensed sample and actually only lasted for a few months before being delisted. The song however remained available in the Greece store for some unknown reason until fans found out and the song was eventually pulled. The re-recording of "Volcano" by Jimmy Buffet actually includes a reference to Rock Band in the lyrics A couple of ideas I'd like to suggest for the second part of the iceberg Lego Rock Band had Christmas themed outfits as DLC. You could get a Santa, Elf, and a Snowman costume for your character by purchasing Build a Bridge by Limp Bizkit, Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard, and A Lot Like Me by The Offspring Renegade by Styx is still available (at least as of 2021) to purchase on the Rock Band Unplugged Music Store despite being pulled from the console stores in 2016
Thank you for the correction and additonal information, especially for the RHCP and the fact that there are no stemless songs. I'll most definitely keep notes on your corrections and put them into a revision section next part!
33:30 the track God Damn by Avenged Sevenfold is completely uncensored while in Selkies: The Endless Obsession by Between The Buried And Me is censored twice in the lyric: “Goddamn television god corrupt me, goddamn television god corrupt me”
As someone who doesn't really watch many iceberg videos as they're spammed out so often nowadays most of em just aren't interesting anymore i really like this video, it was massively comprehensive and easy to follow, and it has just the perfect amount of humor and your personality is very charming as few videos about these games have such a high production value, awesome job man
27:21 In an ironic twist, if you have "All the Small Things" (from the same album as "Aliens Exist") downloaded, the game DOES NOT censor its... racy album cover
There's also another interesting quirk about it. In Rock Band 2, the red cross on the nurse's cap that blink-182 got in trouble for including, and removed in future releases, is intact. But Rock Band 3 forward has the updated version with it removed.
To quote Acai; "Stop asking for remasters!" Especially when it comes to games like Rock Band. It would be a major pain having to relicense all of the songs, which Harmonix isn't focusing on right now. And in the specific case of The Beatles: Rock Band, I highly doubt Apple Corp is gonna trust anyone with their master tracks ever again. Not after the stems from TBRB got ripped and leaked online. They tried *really fucking hard* to make sure that nobody would ever be able to rip them, but they failed.
It's better a Green Day Rock Band remaster,i heard it was bad for some people and with low sales, this time making free animations to use for customs like TBRB and adding other venue with more songs of other albums and more DLC songs from the band, even a Outfit selection of the band years like Kerplunk era or Uno Dos Tre era
Harmonix actually did show the main menu for Rock Band: Japan at PAX East 2013 during the Harmonix panel. However, they asked for no recordings to be made of their panel and the entire thing has since been lost. I watched it when it aired live and it did look like Rock Band 2's menu screen, but instead of a blue theme it was red. They said there was menu music that was made that we couldn't hear because they had since lost the license to use it.
With the RBN was such a thing, You must talk about custom songs things, like the CON exploit, the Update 5 for RB3 or the use of REAPER for make the charts. Because I tried to make a conversion of one Festival song, but in its original language (In this case Spanish). And a tip with the Stage kit. Treat the fog liquid as a dangerous thing, don't vape it, don't drink it and don't use that thing as lube.
1:10:44 the “frame rate test” is not exclusive to tbrb, (almost) every rock band game has a frame rate test chart left on the disc (rb1/2 being worstcase.mid). in internal debug builds of rock band games exists a feature called “frame rate test”, in which the game will automatically apply the most cpu/gpu intensive character customization options, use the biggest venue, as well as use a chart with a lot of notes and venue effects, and the framerate will be monitored on a handy little overlay
Ahhh I see, that's interesting. I did not know all the other games had it! I certainly knew about worstcase.mid but didn't know about its use as a frame rate test. Thank you for the extra information!
@Sabagegah It's a pretty niche topic but I'll be working on part two soon so hopefully when that comes out, it gets more attention! I'm glad you liked my video :)
Both(ish) of the Reel Big Fish songs released as DLC for Rock Band 4 use alternative album art, Sell Out cut out the Turn the Radio Off album art, which makes sense, replacing it with just their logo. Take on Me uses the album art of their UK exclusive compilation album, Favorite Noise. Technically Take on Me never got a release in the US on one of their albums (excluding any of their compilation albums) Only appearing on the Baseketball Soundtrack, so it makes some sense
Decided to split my original post cause I thought it felt like I was being snooty (and honestly a bit hostile) with the Acai quote. Anyways, got some corrections for ya. 20:48 The Pro Drum notes were already in the MIDI files for every song prior to Rock Band 3, they just had no code attached to them to function in-game. They were not added in after RB3 dropped. 33:30: Speaking of weird censorship, almost the entirety of Stupify by Disturbed is uncensored. Other than the one instance of lead singer David Draiman saying "shit" during the first verse, every instance of the word "fuck" is completely intact. Harmonix just decided to alter the on-screen lyrics to "awk". (Which makes sense, because unless you're listening to the live version of the song, it's very difficult to make out that he's saying it) 37:29 The real reason behind why there wasn't a lot of Metallica DLC in Rock Band is because the band expected to get the same level of money & treatment that they got with GH. Which was unrealistic, to say the least. 48:50 The version of Last Resort that was released for RB4 is the studio version. The version for RB2 is the demo. 1:01:04 Massive fucking quotes on "refining". The RB4 charts are dogshit compared to their RB3 counterparts.
Dude the amount of views you have is criminal. This was an AMAZING video. If i didn't just buy my first guitar (Riffmaster), I'd throw you some cash. Amazing work, keep it up. I hope you get the attention you deserve.
Thank you for the kind words! I hope you are enjoying your Riffmaster 😎 Your view, like and comment are more than enough support for me! ☺️ I'm currently working on other videos at the moment but I hope you stay tuned for Part 2 when it inevitably comes out!
The PDP Adapter was so the 360 MIDI Pro Adapter can be used on the Xbox One to enable e-kit/Pro Drums support on RB4. The PDP adapter did NOT accept any wired guitars.
Hey I remember you. You helped me out with my sound for a TikTok stream a while back! And thank you so much for helping with the correction. That was on me, I didn't do much research on that one and just assumed that it would work with all wired things because of the adapters really general name 😅 When I eventually get part 2 out, I'll put this correction in there at the start, among any other corrections I may get.
I sat down and watched this and was really enjoying it, and then I saw that it has less then 1k views???? This was wonderful, I love your sense of humor
41:41 BRO THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP 😭😭 Literally took the words out of my mouth, I feel the exact same way. Why even bother putting it in the game at that point lmao 😭😭😭😭
As a Guitar Hero/Rock Band hyperfixated fan, I really enjoyed this first part of the iceberg and it's exciting to know how much content (whether it is fan-made games, YT videos, streams, Festival and more) is coming out in 2024. I really hope Epic gives Harmonix the green light to publish RB4 on the Epic Games Store for preservation purposes once RB4 is finished.
i really hope you bring up the Schick pack during the second half of the tier list, along with some other RBN oddities great vid btw, cant wait until you finish the second half
Pretty solid video! I do have a couple quick notes about the early parts though. Rock Band guitars actually DIDN'T work on most Guitar Hero games on Wii. Similarly, some Guitar Hero guitars wouldn't work on certain Track Packs. It should be said that the instrument shortage hasn't always been a thing, in the mid-late 2010s, Guitar Hero and Rock Band guitars were flooding goodwills and retro game stores, it wasn't really until Clone Hero blew up that they became more rare. Rock Band never came to Japan because Rock Band never came to arcades! Console rhythm games are barely a thing in Japan, so it wouldn't have done well if released over there in the state it is everywhere else. Also, I really appreciate you bringing up YARG! As a big YARGhead I very much appreciate the shoutout. However, I was a bit surprised you didn't talk about the Milohax Deluxe mods, especially because you were using them in the video! However, I expect you'll most likely talk about them in the next part.
people have already picked up on a bunch of the little inaccuracies or omissions here, but one thing i wanted to point out was about "drive week" (and also "subdivisions week") - supposedly two smashing pumpkins songs, 1979 and bullet with butterfly wings, were also supposed to be released that week, but were cut at the last minute due to licensing issues, leaving harmonix with nothing else to release but drive as a single. as for "subdivisions week," while technically subdivisions was the only new song released that week, there was a bit of weirdness with the doors songs released with the game's launch a week prior. for the first week of rb3's release, three of the doors songs could be downloaded for free while the remaining 9 songs were only available by buying them as a pack. but on nov 2nd, all of the doors songs were repackaged as a 12-pack with individual purchases available for all of them, in addition to subdivisions releasing
Thank you so much! I appreciate you as well as other viewers coming in with additions and especially corrections to the iceberg. I tried my best with research but of course things will slip through 😅 A lot of people I saw commenting in the HMX post for Drive's DLC release talked about how maybe there were supposed to be some other songs along with it that got pulled. I didn't expect them to actually be spot on with that!
18:16 classic gh, in some ways i love the insanely strict hopo system because it felt really satisfying to pull off, but a lot of times, i just find myself wishing i was playing gh2 instead lol
i remember it being hella strict compared to 3 but i absolutely do not remember it being this strict lol also it might've been bc i was playing on a emu, so maybe that could added to it
took me 3 days to watch the entire video and this was worth the time, can't wait to see part 2 of this! also I'm going to add some things here too so here it is: despite Rock Band never came out in Japan, there's a few Japanese bands that did appears as DLC or RBN in Rock Band, such as X Japan which has I.V as part of the Rock Band 2 20-Free Song Pack, Dir En Grey had 2 songs released on RBN, and finally Babymetal had 2 songs in Rock Band 4 and also, there's 1 more Rock Band game that never released after Rock Band Japan; Pearl Jam Rock Band supposed to have the same treatment like TBRB and GDRB but instead of having 3D models of the band members Harmonix prefer using pre-rendered videos of Pearl Jam live shows, it was close to finished but later scrapped for unknown reason, funny enough that Rock Band 3 ACTUALLY had a sourcing for Pearl Jam Rock Band remains unused in the game
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Can't wait to finally get around to working on part 2 🕺 I appreciate the additional info. That's a lot of insight on the cancelled Pearl Jam game, which I have yet to come across while researching. The fact there is evidence of it in 3 is so fascinating. Considering PJRB shows up as an entry in part 2, I'll be sure to add some of this info to it!
A suggestion for part two: Red Hot Chili Peppers All their songs on the rock band store ended up being delisted over time, which is presumed to be because activision made the band sign a ten year exclusivity contract for a band game that never got made
I've been playing since Guitar Hero II launched on Xbox 360. I was the guy in my friend group who had the games, and I would by DLC if they asked. I really miss having people over to play the game.
Super awesome this video was made, never knew much about the series and was well put together! By chance do you please have the names of background songs in the video, loved tier 2's especially.
A few corrections: in your riffmaster segment you worded it as if Epic itself was involved with the creation which is not true. PDP was the one who solely designed and sells these controllers Nirvana’s nevermind was never sold officially as a full album. While all songs from it were added to rock band, two of them (Lithium/Come As You Are) were live versions and it never had a full album bundle Neil Cicierega refers to how he has gone on record saying that his mashup albums used stems obtained from rock band games
Thabk you for the corrections! I really tripped up with that Riffmaster one, a pretty big mistake to make on my part 😅 And yeah, I was never able to find anything about Neil Cicierega besides his inclusion in RBN, so I really appreciate the help with that one too! Next part I'm definitely gonna research a lot more. I can't let down the community twice 😤
I'll only release the final iceberg image once I release the second part of the video, just to keep some entries as a surprise (i also havent finished laying out the last three layers yet lol) But if you are curious, the two iceberg photos I used as reference for the videos are still out there on Reddit! Just keep in mind some things might be moved around or missing 😅
hey, another fun entry i very highly doubt you got on your list that you can revise/add to the next part is brain stew/jaded’s ”hidden” crowd singalong. in green day rock band, between the main riff’s descending guitar chords in the intro of brain stew, mike swings his bass toward the audience to make them chant between the gaps of the guitar chords. this is only present in green day rock band, and not any other games in the franchise, even if you play that song in them.
It's something no one would expect at all. Rock Band is one of my favorite game series of all time so I was more than happy to try and figure out and explain an iceberg for it!
As someone who's also very into rock band, It'll be nice to finally have a more recent iceberg, and I kinda understood that you enjoyed the games bcs your insta stories so it's great to see them pay off lol
Finally good to see a standalone iceberg. I've tried making a rough draft of an iceberg. With simple facts about Brian Gibson and Mallika S. to re-records and events. Can't wait
There’s hope for the Fleetwood Mac fans because stop draggin’ my heart around didn’t get delisted and go your own way later released as rockband rewind😭. Also black magic woman by Santana if you count that as well :3
I was late to dlc cause I play on wii + got back into the series too late. (still have track pack discs and I got the dlc through other methods) [The following replies contain extra thoughts on the video + some potential corrections (also added under the pinned comment)]
I believe the reason for the censoring inconsistencies is more about wether they get sent a premade radio edit vs wether they have to bring it up to censoring guidelines themselves. presumably goddamn is covered under the game's age rating, while the radio/labels have different (and quicker fluctuating) standards.
as a note, I don't believe the drum rocker was made under alesis. I've never seen an alesis branded model and couldn't find any through searching. I believe it was made by Ion Audio (though they were both acquired by inmusic later on, and confusingly sold the same product under 2 labels at least once) Besides that, people often recommend an alesis kit as a beginner ekit for pro drums which definitely doesn't help to distinguish them. I really wish I had a drum rocker (i could always be wrong about some of this info)
I know, and I'm very sorry for that. I've been working on an animated short film for several months and its been taking all my time. I knew it would take long but not this long! I was not good when it came to planning out my video projects 😔 Hopefully once i finish the short film and finish my month-long break, I can get back to the Rock Band iceberg :)
I am a huge fan of the Deluxe mods. I never talk about them here since the VO was recorded way before discovering them but I gushed about them in my celebration stream (where I played 3 DX)
@@wolf397 the series was my obsession when I was 12 and I grew up with it lol I would still be playing if my intrustments didn’t break and if I could find the xplorer that was my favorite
lol "it's Rock Band not Pop Band". I am gonna assume you might throw this in later as a joke but you also forgot great comments like "make more controllers" or "these rewinds are lazy". Hell just put a whole ass listing for Rock Band DLC UA-cam Comments cause they were the worst to be apart of with all the bad takes that were in there.
oh yeah dude. when i was looking into the drive week entry, i ended up on harmonix's facebook announcement for that dlc week and that comments section was atrocious. and skiming through a few yt comments sections for dlc announcements were almost just as bad 😔
@wolf397 This one dude that got really on my nerves was this one guy that kept commenting variations of "why are they choosing this song? These are nobodies. Their Spotify numbers are abysmal." Like bro, the Skeleton Crew is given what they get plus this person acted like Harmonix wasn't all about putting smaller band out there. "This will never make them money" I don't think they were making major cash off Rock Band in the lead up to its second death. I mean for God's sake they made Rivals free in 2023.
So some things I want to point out with these entries

32:30 - while using freestyle vocals helps fill the pie faster, it does not grant you more points over not using it. it kinda just assists you in completing a phrase more than anything.
Tier 3:
54:05 - while vocalists can still play on All Instruments Mode, the difficulty is set to easy and doesn't contribute to scoring. so they're included, but also partially left out lol
58:00 - two other RBN tracks - I Couldn't Explain Why by Citizen Cope and Blow At High Dough by The Tragically Hip - cost $3 to purchase, so i'm not sure why they weren't included on the iceberg.
Tier 4:
1:05:04 - Snoop's Upside Ya Head was still purchasable using a Greek XBL account up until around 2018. This was the only workaround and prevented it from being the most rare DLC released (that being the RB4 versions of Appetite by The Gracious Few and Don't Feel Like That Anymore by Johnny Cooper)
wake up babe, new long form iceberg vid about rhythm game dropped
babe: *forces self back to sleep*
@@wolf397 please make more long form vids wolf, I'm a huge fan
edit: also drop the songs you've used in the video
you got itttt im already working on more longer form vids :)
This is so polished and its clear a lot of thought and care was put into it. It honestly didn't even feel like an hour and a half long video!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Presentation was very important to me and is the biggest reason it took as long as it did to come out. Hopefully next part wont take as long 😅
Burping to activate overdrive was the funniest thing back in the day
Dude that is the funniest thing NOW.
I have to try that for my next celebration stream lol
A couple of corrections for some entries on this iceberg
There are no songs at least officially that lack stems. Official songs either had real stems (The majority of RB1-RB3 DLC) or DIY stems (a good chunk of RB4 era)
The PDP or (Wired Legacy Adapter) does not work for all wired instruments from the 360 only the ION kit and an E-Kit with the use of the MPA. These adapters have also been outdone by a much cheaper and fan made solution known as the Roll Limitless or RL
Every single RHCP song has been pulled including Give It Away which was the most recent delist being pulled as late as early 2018.
A few additional things to note about some entries on the iceberg
Metallica had a T-shirt in RB3 for some reason alongisde And Justice for All... receiving a pro guitar upgrade
Snoop's Upside Your Head was apparently pulled due to an unlicensed sample and actually only lasted for a few months before being delisted. The song however remained available in the Greece store for some unknown reason until fans found out and the song was eventually pulled.
The re-recording of "Volcano" by Jimmy Buffet actually includes a reference to Rock Band in the lyrics
A couple of ideas I'd like to suggest for the second part of the iceberg
Lego Rock Band had Christmas themed outfits as DLC. You could get a Santa, Elf, and a Snowman costume for your character by purchasing Build a Bridge by Limp Bizkit, Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard, and A Lot Like Me by The Offspring
Renegade by Styx is still available (at least as of 2021) to purchase on the Rock Band Unplugged Music Store despite being pulled from the console stores in 2016
Thank you for the correction and additonal information, especially for the RHCP and the fact that there are no stemless songs. I'll most definitely keep notes on your corrections and put them into a revision section next part!
Renegade is still obtainable for Unplugged via the PS3 PS Store, last checked earlier today
The 2112 and Ozzy packs didn't only include exclusive tracks to them but also the Pro upgrades for those songs as well.
33:30 the track God Damn by Avenged Sevenfold is completely uncensored while in Selkies: The Endless Obsession by Between The Buried And Me is censored twice in the lyric: “Goddamn television god corrupt me, goddamn television god corrupt me”
As someone who doesn't really watch many iceberg videos as they're spammed out so often nowadays most of em just aren't interesting anymore
i really like this video, it was massively comprehensive and easy to follow, and it has just the perfect amount of humor and your personality is very charming as few videos about these games have such a high production value, awesome job man
27:21 In an ironic twist, if you have "All the Small Things" (from the same album as "Aliens Exist") downloaded, the game DOES NOT censor its... racy album cover
BRUHHHHHH LOL 🤣
There's also another interesting quirk about it. In Rock Band 2, the red cross on the nurse's cap that blink-182 got in trouble for including, and removed in future releases, is intact. But Rock Band 3 forward has the updated version with it removed.
@@briankaslewicz6130 It wasn't removed in Lego either
It's also still there in fortnite festival which fortnite also has a lego mode
54:57 another cute bit of Rockband Representation in FN Festival is the inclusion of S.O.M.P from Rockband 4 in it's setlist! ^w^
To quote Acai;
"Stop asking for remasters!"
Especially when it comes to games like Rock Band.
@@derpymcderpster5526 is there a place where I can read more about the drama behind these stems getting ripped and why it was a huge deal
"Dont vape the fog liquid"
Litterally 1984
NEVER VAPE THE FOG LIQUID
1:12 almost gave me chills
it gave me a tingle in my pringle while editing it
@wolf397 and only 6.4k people have gotten to see it?! I’m halfway in. Hopefully this video gets the recognition it deserves.
@Sabagegah It's a pretty niche topic but I'll be working on part two soon so hopefully when that comes out, it gets more attention!
I'm glad you liked my video :)
33:31 Just adding on, East Jesus Nowhere by Green Day also has that uncensored.
Hell of a job on this! You can really see the work you put into it, can't wait for part two!
Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed the video.
And thank you for joining my celebration stream! I appreciate itttt 🙏🙏🙏
Both(ish) of the Reel Big Fish songs released as DLC for Rock Band 4 use alternative album art,
Sell Out cut out the Turn the Radio Off album art, which makes sense, replacing it with just their logo.
Take on Me uses the album art of their UK exclusive compilation album, Favorite Noise.
Technically Take on Me never got a release in the US on one of their albums (excluding any of their compilation albums) Only appearing on the Baseketball Soundtrack, so it makes some sense
If I remember correctly, the one Snoop Dogg song that got delisted was due to a sample it uses in the song.
(Which makes sense, because unless you're listening to the live version of the song, it's very difficult to make out that he's saying it)
37:29 The real reason behind why there wasn't a lot of Metallica DLC in Rock Band is because the band expected to get the same level of money & treatment that they got with GH. Which was unrealistic, to say the least.
48:50 The version of Last Resort that was released for RB4 is the studio version. The version for RB2 is the demo.
1:01:04 Massive fucking quotes on "refining". The RB4 charts are dogshit compared to their RB3 counterparts.
1:14:52 yeah when the singer says a second time "it was only a kiss" wowwww
Dude the amount of views you have is criminal. This was an AMAZING video. If i didn't just buy my first guitar (Riffmaster), I'd throw you some cash.
Amazing work, keep it up. I hope you get the attention you deserve.
Thank you for the kind words! I hope you are enjoying your Riffmaster 😎
Your view, like and comment are more than enough support for me! ☺️ I'm currently working on other videos at the moment but I hope you stay tuned for Part 2 when it inevitably comes out!
being a persona fan and 5 fret enthusiast this is the payoff i’ve been waiting on for 5 years
you're a real one dude. thank you for sticking with me this long 🙏
The PDP Adapter was so the 360 MIDI Pro Adapter can be used on the Xbox One to enable e-kit/Pro Drums support on RB4. The PDP adapter did NOT accept any wired guitars.
Hey I remember you. You helped me out with my sound for a TikTok stream a while back!
And thank you so much for helping with the correction. That was on me, I didn't do much research on that one and just assumed that it would work with all wired things because of the adapters really general name 😅
When I eventually get part 2 out, I'll put this correction in there at the start, among any other corrections I may get.
1:15:26 I still have that shirt and a red one that has all of the instrument symbols
I unfortunately donated mine last year 😔
23:50 THE HAIR
I sat down and watched this and was really enjoying it, and then I saw that it has less then 1k views???? This was wonderful, I love your sense of humor
41:41 BRO THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP 😭😭
Literally took the words out of my mouth, I feel the exact same way.
I really hope Epic gives Harmonix the green light to publish RB4 on the Epic Games Store for preservation purposes once RB4 is finished.
i really hope you bring up the Schick pack during the second half of the tier list, along with some other RBN oddities
great vid btw, cant wait until you finish the second half
I’ve grown up with this game ever since I was four years old. now I still can’t believe this game made me to where I am today.
Nice job with this! Can't wait for part two of this bad boy! 🧡
Ah my favourite The Beatles song, Frame Rate Test.
However, I expect you'll most likely talk about them in the next part.
great video bro! i knew almost all the topics here but that’s cause i also have brain rot knowledge of these games 🤣 can’t wait for part 2!
people have already picked up on a bunch of the little inaccuracies or omissions here, but one thing i wanted to point out was about "drive week" (and also "subdivisions week") - supposedly two smashing pumpkins songs, 1979 and bullet with butterfly wings, were also supposed to be released that week, but were cut at the last minute due to licensing issues, leaving harmonix with nothing else to release but drive as a single.
as for "subdivisions week," while technically subdivisions was the only new song released that week, there was a bit of weirdness with the doors songs released with the game's launch a week prior. for the first week of rb3's release, three of the doors songs could be downloaded for free while the remaining 9 songs were only available by buying them as a pack. but on nov 2nd, all of the doors songs were repackaged as a 12-pack with individual purchases available for all of them, in addition to subdivisions releasing
Thank you so much! I appreciate you as well as other viewers coming in with additions and especially corrections to the iceberg. I tried my best with research but of course things will slip through 😅
A lot of people I saw commenting in the HMX post for Drive's DLC release talked about how maybe there were supposed to be some other songs along with it that got pulled. I didn't expect them to actually be spot on with that!
18:16 classic gh, in some ways i love the insanely strict hopo system because it felt really satisfying to pull off, but a lot of times, i just find myself wishing i was playing gh2 instead lol
i remember it being hella strict compared to 3 but i absolutely do not remember it being this strict lol
also it might've been bc i was playing on a emu, so maybe that could added to it
took me 3 days to watch the entire video and this was worth the time, can't wait to see part 2 of this!
also I'm going to add some things here too so here it is:
despite Rock Band never came out in Japan, there's a few Japanese bands that did appears as DLC or RBN in Rock Band, such as X Japan which has I.V as part of the Rock Band 2 20-Free Song Pack, Dir En Grey had 2 songs released on RBN, and finally Babymetal had 2 songs in Rock Band 4
and also, there's 1 more Rock Band game that never released after Rock Band Japan; Pearl Jam Rock Band
supposed to have the same treatment like TBRB and GDRB but instead of having 3D models of the band members Harmonix prefer using pre-rendered videos of Pearl Jam live shows, it was close to finished but later scrapped for unknown reason, funny enough that Rock Band 3 ACTUALLY had a sourcing for Pearl Jam Rock Band remains unused in the game
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Can't wait to finally get around to working on part 2 🕺
I appreciate the additional info. That's a lot of insight on the cancelled Pearl Jam game, which I have yet to come across while researching. The fact there is evidence of it in 3 is so fascinating. Considering PJRB shows up as an entry in part 2, I'll be sure to add some of this info to it!
Can't wait for part 2! Great video!
A suggestion for part two: Red Hot Chili Peppers
All their songs on the rock band store ended up being delisted over time, which is presumed to be because activision made the band sign a ten year exclusivity contract for a band game that never got made
Thank you bro, this got me through my homework 🙏
I've been playing since Guitar Hero II launched on Xbox 360. I was the guy in my friend group who had the games, and I would by DLC if they asked. I really miss having people over to play the game.
Super awesome this video was made, never knew much about the series and was well put together! By chance do you please have the names of background songs in the video, loved tier 2's especially.
cartoon ringo at 58:10 caught me so off guard
I caught you off guard with a little help from my friend
A few corrections: in your riffmaster segment you worded it as if Epic itself was involved with the creation which is not true. PDP was the one who solely designed and sells these controllers
Nirvana’s nevermind was never sold officially as a full album. While all songs from it were added to rock band, two of them (Lithium/Come As You Are) were live versions and it never had a full album bundle
Neil Cicierega refers to how he has gone on record saying that his mashup albums used stems obtained from rock band games
Thabk you for the corrections! I really tripped up with that Riffmaster one, a pretty big mistake to make on my part 😅
And yeah, I was never able to find anything about Neil Cicierega besides his inclusion in RBN, so I really appreciate the help with that one too!
Next part I'm definitely gonna research a lot more. I can't let down the community twice 😤
Please post the full Ultimate Iceberg image, lol! Good video.
I'll only release the final iceberg image once I release the second part of the video, just to keep some entries as a surprise (i also havent finished laying out the last three layers yet lol)
But if you are curious, the two iceberg photos I used as reference for the videos are still out there on Reddit! Just keep in mind some things might be moved around or missing 😅
Yo this is really good video nice job
hey, another fun entry i very highly doubt you got on your list that you can revise/add to the next part is brain stew/jaded’s ”hidden” crowd singalong.
in green day rock band, between the main riff’s descending guitar chords in the intro of brain stew, mike swings his bass toward the audience to make them chant between the gaps of the guitar chords. this is only present in green day rock band, and not any other games in the franchise, even if you play that song in them.
Damn got to say didn't expect this
It's something no one would expect at all.
Oh neat, an iceburg on one of my favorite games. I wonder what else this guy has done.
...HE'S THE SILLY BILLY GUY?
YARG and CLONE-HERO saved us all.
It really did. Practically dragged the plastic instrument genre out of the grave kicking and screaming
Finally good to see a standalone iceberg. I've tried making a rough draft of an iceberg. With simple facts about Brian Gibson and Mallika S. to re-records and events. Can't wait
that dang dusty corner
There’s hope for the Fleetwood Mac fans because stop draggin’ my heart around didn’t get delisted and go your own way later released as rockband rewind😭. Also black magic woman by Santana if you count that as well :3
I was late to dlc cause I play on wii + got back into the series too late. (still have track pack discs and I got the dlc through other methods)
[The following replies contain extra thoughts on the video + some potential corrections (also added under the pinned comment)]
also the prerendered performances made me think creep and say it ain't so were the same band (the one in the video)
I believe it was made by Ion Audio (though they were both acquired by inmusic later on, and confusingly sold the same product under 2 labels at least once)
Besides that, people often recommend an alesis kit as a beginner ekit for pro drums which definitely doesn't help to distinguish them.
I really wish I had a drum rocker
(i could always be wrong about some of this info)
I'm kinda surprised ac/dc live isn't higher up. I thought it was a staple of bargain bins everywhere.

@wolf397 This one dude that got really on my nerves was this one guy that kept commenting variations of "why are they choosing this song? These are nobodies. Their Spotify numbers are abysmal."
