My heart broke for the lad, and sadly this is a soap but the bullying issue is prevalent in the majority of schools, it just gets swept under the carpet because most heads won't admit bullying's even a thing in "their" school.
God this was so distressing to watch. The acting was brilliant Liam plays the part so well he’s portraying the part of so many boys and girls out there who get bullied in real life
What makes it worse is the fact that the school won’t even do anything about it apart from put them both in isolation which doesn’t make any sense at all, sometimes the school itself is just as bad because they don’t even care
indeed schools just cover everything up so they look good in Ofsted reports, makes me angary now 30 years on, when teachers who could of spoken out but were too worried about keeping their jobs, have the cheek to talk to me and say how well I have done, yeah no thanks to them!
You know, this whole week NEEDS A British Soap Award for Liam's Actor! I fell in love with the character when he cried in his bedroom in silence and the acting chops demonstrated to pull off these emotions so realistically is phenomenal. Please get this character nominated! 🥺
This was so upsetting to me .Liam looks like my son and reminds me about when my son was bullied at school. It's sad that good,.amazing, brilliant kind kids are bullied by kids whose parents didn't teach them to respect. The boy who is playing Liam's part is an amazing actor. His parents should be proud.
Well, I'll be the first to disagree with you, that teacher was nowhere near an accurate depiction of a real teacher and I know that because she's an actor and I'm a teacher. I was a victim of bullying in school and I am now a teacher. Shows what you know.
@@LunarCatWitch I still disagree. You can't make sweeping statements about all schools based on the experience of teachers at just one school so I'm sorry too, as someone who endured it for a long time myself, who is now the teacher.
The fear he shows when they say they will go to the teacher is so real. I remember this feeling so much. When my mum went to the school after she found out actually did get stabbed for it and still have the scars. This kid portrays that so well it’s scary. It feels so real again. Very very impressive acting.
Absolutely heartbreaking, upsetting, awful and devastating this storyline. I hate bullies so much. Bullies are cowards, sad, miserable and pathetic. 💔😭 It's good job Coronation Street has done a storyline like this as it gives the public awareness that bullying happens in real life events. Amazing acting to all those who are involved in this storyline especially Liam and Maria. Liam deserves a award for all his hard work in this storyline and Liam is a great young actor. 👏
Great acting from the actor that plays Liam! I hope he gets an award! Marias acting was good too and im usually not a fan of her acting but she acted very well here!
For real life parents who are in Maria's position, I cannot imagine how heartbreaking that would feel. My children are everything to me and if I was to find out they felt like this I'd feel so devastated and heartbroken but I'd do everything I can. I hope kids out there know how much their parents love them. Poor Liam, I hope this storyline starts showing some hope for him now.
I wish my mother thought like that - when I was being bullied at school, including physical violence by pupils and teachers when I was 10 she told me I brought it on myself because I was "different" (I'm an autistic transwoman). When I spoke about suicide she told me I was attention-seeking.
I don’t watch this tv show but it’s good that they are covering these issues hopefully it helps a lot of people out there all ages to seek help and join help groups ect. I hope they add lots of coverage for support groups and friendship groups cause there is so many out there for everyone In need and people are always there to listen and offer help even if you think there is no one. Someone will always help
It's great that they're bringing light to teenage boy's struggles. Typically it's only girls portrayed as struggling with their mental health in TV, so it's very refreshing to have this in the public eye so boys like Liam don't feel ashamed about talking about the way they are feeling.
and also Liam seriously seriously seriously needs to mention the knife situation he seriously needs to mention that because its a very serious matter what happened so its very important that Liam tells them absolutely everything that happened, you’ve got this Liam be brave buddy and we’re all here for ya mate
WOW! If anyone deserves an award for acting it most definitely 200% out of 100%, needs to go to Charlie Wrenshall who plays Liam Connor Jnr. Absolutely outstanding performances through out this harrowing story line, coming from a such a fine young actor bravo!!! This is real heart wrenching stuff and there wouldn't be too many with dry eyes after watching this!!
I tried to end my life in high school after being bullied for years. I'm 30 now and have suffered badly with my mental health ever since. my self esteem non existent. this stuff sticks with you. good on corrie for covering such a real and serious issue. bullying is an epidemic nowadays.
I was a bully when I was a kid, and I regret all of it. I often think about how I awful I must have made them feel and wish I could turn back time to right my wrongs.
Thank god Maria found it! Mason needs a kick in the backside, his actor is bloody good, and so is Liam's!! Keep strong lads, nearly at the finish line!
This story was really hard to watch my son did the same thing searched on the internet and when i asked him why he couldnt tell me why he never knows why he feels sad all the time he is 17
This broke my heart last night, as a disabled person, I used to get bullied bad at school, never this bad though, although in some ways I'm grateful I didn't get diagnosed Autistic till almost 7 and half years to the day after I left, I dread to think of the abuse I would've received if the bullies knew I was an Aspie.
The acting was so good in these scenes. It’s hard to watch knowing this is acting but countless children or even adults are suffering from cowards that bully people.
I immediately started crying when Maria went into the flat and shouted “Liam” and she started crying first Aidan Connor and now nearly Liam. I really hope this is a lesson for teenagers or any person of any age this is what the affect of bullying and words does
about time its being dealt with i had to put with this when i was younger ik how it feels but now i am happpy i moved houses new freinds new council area ik thing tough but fight though it if u dont then you just gonna have hard life never give up
I extremely understand that Gary is extremely protective over Liam and I extremely understand that he wants to deal with it but actually violence doesn’t solve anything apart from making the situation worse, he needs to control his temper otherwise it’ll definitely make things worse then they already are
I have seen some amazing young actors just in Corrie alone over recent years give outstanding performances and Charlie Wrenshall (Liam Connor) is no exception. He has the ability to draw you in and connect to the character on an emotional rollercoaster helping the story be told in the most realistic way possible. 👍
Buson does but Dylan’s as much of a victim in this as Liam. So are Conch and all the other members. I just can’t believe Liam didn’t tell Maria about the knife.
This is sad reality of what's going on in real life under the unknown of parents and teachers.. I hope kids can see this and see it not the answer and speak out not be afraid.. this is great acting by Liam but for others it's a reality .. hopefully this episode helps people ❤
This storyline hits home for me and brings back some trauma from my childhood. I was bullied in school and college and I even considered doing something stupid. But I got through it thanks to my family
liam you've done nothing to them 😢💔 they are just vile nasty individuals who have nothing better to do 😠 you are loved and supported Liam.. i couldn't help but cry during this scenes bought tears to my eyes 😢😢

Definatly a realistic storyline. Constant bullying and then feeling there is no way out and eventually researching suicide
