Carol Burnette is mostly known for making a generation laugh on her "Carol Burnette Show" but she is also a very underrated dramatic actress. I remember watching this episode when it first aired and seeing Ms Burnette in this role was incredible.
I remember watching this episode in an ION rerun back in 2017 and this was really one of the saddest episodes I've seen in the history of SVU along with several others.

Black widow Birdie gets away with her crimes, but Chet is going away to jail. Even though she'll die later from her cancer before she can ever be convicted, I guess she got the easy way out.
In these TV shows and movies, guys falling from tall buildings always land on the roof of a car. It's so the show can plausibly contain the gore factor. Fact is, if he landed on the sidewalk, the body would burst open like a water balloon.
