Which was still when V3 had yet to been released, which is very impressive given Kodaka's devotion to his works in midst of the years around 2013-2017 directly for the franchise. examples being UDG, the anime, and even the Danganronpa Stage Plays he all had firsthand working in curation with. Anyway, Danganronpa Summer S everyone knows sucks. A reason being, if i remember correctly, Kazutaka Kodaka had practically 0 writing & developing influence with the game which makes sense. Maybe some of the characters had some shadow write But the game in it's entirety was practically developed with 0 hand from Kodaka. Which in of itself shows. You're right about the RainCode being on the switch though, that'll definitely see a not so flourishing amount of sales because of that

also the plot seems to be similar to AI: The Somnium Files (detective with amnesia and his non-human helper solving case) so probably a lot of people would compare aitsf and rain code
I'm sure it'll be seen as it's own game though, because outside of artstyle and being mystery, there seems to be little to compare. There are already successful death games that aren't danganronpa, they just aren't omega popular, which is the standard. You'll have ignorant people going "where's danganronpa" but they were never going to play anyway, so they don't matter. I just can't really see most occult lovers ignoring it, and I think that's what matters.
Danganronpa was originally released for PSP and still success. So i don't see why Rain code can't do same thing when Switch has much bigger market. Peoples don't like Switch exclusive most likely don't have Switch that's why they buthurt about it.
I'm honestly hyped. I feel like Rain Code might actually be better than Danganronpa in terms of gameplay. The Non-stop Debates in Danganronpa are iconic, but every gameplay element after that kinda loses me. (Hangman's Gambit in Danganronpa 2 is one of the worst minigames I've ever played)
I agree with you that making it a switch exclusive will hurt it since it's a new IP. But in the Nintendo direct where they showed it off, it did mention that it was a timed exclusive. So hopefully we see it on other platforms by fall 2023, because for me personally, seeing all the frame drops in the trailer made me not want to play it on the switch.
If your gonna market, market to those who can get the product. No one's gonna go buy a switch for two games, meaning that they need to market to switch users first. As someone who doesn't have a switch and only knows about Summer Camp through UA-cam lets plays, this game isn't gonna go far. (Also at least market on more than one platform. Tik Tok has a large Danganronpa community. Upload trailers to UA-cam? Idk) They should get a new marketing team.
I think the main reason they made this game a timed exclusive on the switch is because in japan the Nintendo switch is way more popular in japan than the PS4 and PS5 ( To put this in to terms The Nintendo switch has sold 27 million lifetime units in japan While the PS4 has only sold 9 million units and the PS5 has only sold 2 million units so far)

I think your prediction is still too early but thats your opinion and totally respect it. The switch is in soooo many households during the pandemic. And from what I've seen I know tons of PC players that they have a switch as the want a console to go. Like you said it will also be out on other consoles eventually. Plus people who had the vita went for the switch after. Danganronpa never really had much ads nor marketing and you'd have to really look for special and limited edition. Not to mention despite danganronpa being on Sony handheld and PC; most people became fans through watching popular youtubers which is how it got popular and gained its fan based. and of course youtubers are going to play it. If I play Rain Code it will be because I pirated and emulated it. No way will I buy a whole ass console just for this game. If they want my money then a PC port is a requirement.
