I never really comment on videos, but I just want to thank you so much for sharing this. I've been unemployed the past few months and have been self-teaching myself code and really enjoying it. I've been strongly considering a bootcamp, since the guidance and networking that they have is far beyond anything I can do on my own. After listening to this video, I see that the benefits of a bootcamp are most apparent in-person, and conveniently I live about 20 minutes away from one of Ironhack's campuses! Even though it's not perfect, I think I'm going to go ahead and enroll in their next cohort. Thanks to this video, I know what to expect and will be sure to spend some extra time of my own on CSS among other things to try my best and supplement their curriculum.
Hey Don! It would be very interesting to hear from those guys again now in the end of 2023! How their carreers went, salaries, expieriences in tech ... Could you try to get in contact with some of them to set up an interview? Would be absolutely great! Thanks.
Hey man awesome channel you have here. Since you know a lot more than I do and I’m seriously considering enrolling into a bootcamp, I’m looking at ironhack vs general assembly. Could you help out with which is the best one overall? As someone in the industry. I look forward to hearing from you
@@barbourc No I only have info on the Berlin brand. The Berlin brand has very good online reviews but those reviews are FAKE, probably the company owners and they friends fabricate them.
Another great interview Don! I suggest if you want to cover a bootcamp with a pretty rigorous technical interview process you should check out Rithm School since the cohorts max out at 16 people per cohort, also I think they would be a unique bootcamp to cover since they also let students work on real world code-base for 3 weeks as part of there curriculum and it's a longer bootcamp at 17 weeks vs a typical 12 weeks or less bootcamp.
Hey Ronald. As I mentioned before, I want to see Rithm School grow a bit more, and grow a larger alumni network before I consider them. When they reach about 300 alumni on Linkedin, feel free to let me know and I can look more into them.
@@DonTheDeveloper haha for sure it might be a while though since cohorts typically are 10-16 people and they only do new cohorts every 3 months or so. Have you ever considered a bootcamp doesn't have to be rithm, but a bootcamp that offers a different twist like how rithm offers 3 weeks of intership working on real-life codebase as part of the bootcamp experience. I really like how you're covering the mainstream and most popular bootcamps but I also feel like a lot of the bigger ones are driven by profit and the quality seems to go down as they expand more.
@@DonTheDeveloper I think another pretty good bootcamp possibly might be V-school I don't know how big there alumni is but I feel like they are pretty good as well and been around slightly longer than rithm school maybe 5 years vs rithm school which has been around for 4 years or so, I think.
@@DonTheDeveloper I love your podcast and interviews though Don, keep up the good work! It's so interesting hearing other peoples experiences, you're one of the few people who are doing these kind of things

Nah, I probably won't do that. You're welcome to reach out to them though. I included their LinkedIn profiles in the description.
thanks so much for the info!! I love the reviews, can we do codesmith also?
I think it would be hard to cover codesmith since they don't publicly list there alumni network
@@ronpaek100 oh okay! Thanks
@@Rachelijabiken who knows though maybe he can pull it off, I mean I would love to see it happen, that would be awesome
Yeah as Ronald mentioned, it probably won't happen until they list their Alumni on Linkedin. I'm glad you find these helpful though.
Great information. Thanks for sharing.
No problem!
