    As someone who’s currently in a bootcamp,
    I fell behind bc I couldn’t finish an assignment that I was struggling on. I was shy and really tried to do it on my own, finally I asked and reached out for help, don’t be afraid !

    Agreed with you 100000%. ASK QUESTIONS!!!!! Do not stay stuck on a question for more than 20 minutes. TRUST ME. "
    I went to App Academy exactly because of what you said. Out of all the interviews I had, they were the most demanding ones. Unfortunately, my cohort was horrible. And we all agree on this. We were not close, did not help or liked each other. To the point that one person got another one kicked out. BUT we did have great instructors and they were not changed

    Hey Don I joined one of those boot camps that didn't have a filter or test in the beginning mostly because I don't have the time or money to take more of the well known boot camps. This one is part time but I feel like I'm learning well from it and understanding how to do front end also. I don't think they're all that bad.

      @@MapleJokerRofl the boot camp was called Nucamp. Its pros is that it has great teachers, the material is easy to digest. The cons is that you have to juggle between doing the projects your tasked as well as your own projects which will likely lead to to graduate with no real portfolio or projects of your own, which happened to me and most others. It's very cheap though the front end is just 2700$ for 6 months and full stack is double for a year and they have many options on how to pay. So as you can tell I was disappointed so I took a leap of faith and joined Andy sterkowitz's mastermind program and it's a lot more helpful cuz it takes you Immediately into making project after project and your coach's respond faster. It's 4k$ for 4 months.

    Thanks for putting out this video. I'm eager to learn more HTML, CSS and JavaScript before my bootcamp starts in late Jan. I seem to check most boxes but the thing I fear the most is not having project ideas.
    I once had a meal prep app idea then discovered it exists to a tee and more. That was my sole idea. Do you have any advice that could help?

      I think it's great to have a long-term project, even if you can't quite build it yet. As you get more comfortable with the languages used to build it, try to start breaking it down into smaller parts and building the parts that you're able to at the time.
      Ultimately, I'd start out with simpler projects, but I think having a more complex project in mind as you go through the program is a great idea.
      If you're a UA-cam member, I did a live stream around coming up with project ideas a while back:

      Here are a couple of podcast episodes that touch on the topic as well:

    Hey Don,
    I’ll be joining the software engineering program this October. It has high reviews, but seems to accept any and everyone. I’ve watched your interview with the other KA graduates. What do you think about joining a camp like Kenzie? Have you heard any negatives?

    • @DonTheDeveloper
      @DonTheDeveloper  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Madelyn. If you've watched that video, you have my thoughts on that program. I haven't reviewed that program since then. In the following video, I talked about my concern when coding bootcamps have a low technical bar to getting in. Feel free to check it out.

    What is your best way to problem solve or to learn how to improve on it?

    • @DonTheDeveloper
      @DonTheDeveloper  2 роки тому +2

      I don't think there is a "best way". It depends on the type of problem you're trying to solve and most likely other context around how that problem is being introduced.
      I actually host a live Q&A every Friday at 1:30pm CT on UA-cam. This type of question would probably be great for that. Feel free to swing on by sometime. Bring a specific example of a problem and we can dive further into this topic then.
