Classic TV Theme: The Fall Guy
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 бер 2021
- Usually when a show is created, the theme is written to reflect the show. But with 'The Fall Guy' it was the other way around. Producers already had the theme (written for a series that never got off the ground) now all they needed was the show to build around it. And they got one that ran for five seasons. It had action and humor, plus occasional star cameos. And that theme song - by David Somerville, Gail Jensen, and Glen Larson - stuck around for the entire run. The visuals under it did change a bit, so we have two opening title sequences (one includes the first-season explainer narrated by Majors), plus two end credits rolls with different arrangements. At first the singer was identified as Colt Seavers (Majors' character name) but in later seasons it read 'Lee Majors'.

One of the best theme songs. In 1982 I wanted that truck. Now in 2022 I still want that truck.
Freaking loved this show..also The Incredible Hulk , The 6 Million Dollar Man, Greatest American Hero, All in the Family, Three's Company, Cheers , Family Ties
Hahaha same here!
Will you get that truck in 2023?
All you need is a good chassis. Parts are all available through the after market.
Just make sure it's a 3/4 ton 1973-1987 GM truck chassis.

5 year old me back in 1982 would sing along every week to this epic theme song. Lee Majors was that dude. I was the only black kid in school singing "The Unknown Stuntman." Hell, even the white kids didn't know what I was singing because they were too young to understand this show. But the Fall Guy, Remington Steele, BJ and the Bear, Hardcastle & McCormick, Simon & Simon, Magnum PI, A-Team, Knight Rider, Manimal, AirWolf, Buck Rogers, Blue Thunder, The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo, Werewolf, Hart to Hart, and Mike Hammer!
Yeah it was cartoons during the day, and adult themed shows at night every week!
I love my childhood!👍🏾

Sounds like you were the only cool kid in school which is the best demographic by far.

You weren't the only 1. I looked at this religiously as a kid. The shows in the 80s were just great across the board.

Man, in the 70s and 80s, every single show had a fantastic opening theme song. Hollywood really put effort into what it produced, then.
Which is ironic because TV was considered inferior to films. Shows didn’t have the status they enjoy now. I think it was 24 that changed things.
golden era
@@omarmadhloom2602 I always think it was The Sopranos that changed it. 24 and The Wire then came after that. So, basically the combo of those three maybe, that showed TV could be even superior to movies for the first time.
@@dgoodall Yeah but now it all sucks. No good TV shows, and no good movies. Hell, I'd love to go to a theatre and watch a real movie like "Hunt for Red October" like we could 30 years ago. Now it's all streaming crap with loser superheroes.
I wanted to be an actor. Then I met a few. No Plumbing is much more honorable.
Im sorry but this is The Fall Guy.
Lee Majors really made this show, now that i've watched the movie.
@@alertgasper let me guess.... the movie is crap
@@ivorharden for me it is, and it's not doing as well as expected at the box office. It's just a story of a boy trying to get back a girl, with action around it. which reminds there was less of that between Colt and Jody--it wasn't the TV show "moonlighting". which makes an interesting story of people working together. Its Gosling trying not to be a pretty boy and not trying to be Ken....while Lee Majors played a weary older guy who did his job and wanted to soak in a tub afterward. us older guys could relate to this :)
@alertgasper yeah, Colt should of been played by an older actor with Gosling playing the younger Howie. Not being horrible to Blunt, but 80s Jodie was hotter. The script looked iffy by watching the trailer. They should have done a sort of 2004 Starsky and Hutch style remake.
@@ivorharden ok, now that you mention that...Gosling would have done better as Howie. and they lost the whole bounty hunter idea, which i get but...i remember Steve McQueen's The Hunter movie. sometimes, a story just has an interesting character and the plot can be anything believable, you're just along for the ride

My favorite TV them along with The Greatest American Hero, both of which came on Wednesday nights when I was in my early teens. Loved it!
Lee Majors did a heck of a job with the theme song! 👍
If I remember correctly, they actually did an episode in which Colt's nephew (I think, the stuntman he was training) wrote the song and tried to get several country singers to perform it. Then he was told that Colt was a very good singer, and he should do it.

Blame greedy TV networks. They continually cut everything down to make more space for commercials.
