Hi, my name is Dennis and I was born in 1974 here in Denmark, as a neighboring country to Germany, we could see German television in the 80's, so I ran around trying to sing the song even though I did not understood English. Best series as a child 😉
the first time I heard Lee Majors sing was "Sweet Jamie", on the Six Million Dollar Man. That man could act and sing. His voice is country and him singing The Fall Guy theme is perfect! ❤️
The Fall Guy, Hardcastle and McCormick, Manimal, The Adventures of Matthew Star, MacGyver, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf, The Misfits of Science, Hunter, Night Heat, In The Heat of the Night, The Wizard, The Twilight Zone (80's version), USA Saturday Nightmares, Tales From The Darkside, Downtown, Tours of Duty, Crazy Like A Fox, Simon and Simon, Sledge Hammer, Dukes of Hazzard, The Equalizer, and Houston Night all my old eighties favorite. TV ain't the same no more.
I use to watch all of these as a kid because cartoons stopped airing after 4 pm, and if you wanted to watch TV you had to watch what your parents watched. I miss that time.
I am from Germany. And let me tell you that we have a good taste for music. At least most of us. It's a catchy tune so why not make it number one on the hitlist. ;)
I think he was just trying to be humble and down play it, Lee's a cool dude. Of course Germany has great taste in music and great music came out of Germany, especially 80's Electro music. Germany fuckin Rocks...
The good old 80s. Lee Majors No.1 in germany. And today,Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are No.1 in the US. Yeah...we germans don`t know much about music! :-))
I`m German...and I know something about music. Of course, this theme is only a simple country style song, but - it`s joyful, harmonic and just fitting. So for me there`s nothing about "not much about music understanding Germans", but simply a happy crowd of people, who like to listen to a simply fitting piece of music...
@@poppyland74 This would be a joke? Not a good one, can tell you that. So he`s living up to the stereotype of Americans telling flat jokes. By the way, my father WAS an American...
Watching this after seeing The Fall Guy Movie. I was obsessed with the TV Show as a kid and the movie was great too! But it's also reinvigorated my love for the original show!
That was great, this show made me get into movies, become a bouncer, bodyguard, and eventually do some light acting but more stunts and S f/x work. Couldn’t have done it without “The Fall Guy from the early ‘80s. I had no idea that was an actual job until that show came out. I was 6 when the Fall Guy came out. I always loved the show and this song. It’s always resonated through my life and I love this version you and your guys made. Much love.
Well Lee, it was a hit in Germany not only because of the music - the first thing everybody thinks about is Heather Thomas in the intro opening the swing doors. To me she was a goddess - and I am a girl, by the way. It is sad to hear Lee Majors talking that way about a song that gave him so much success and was fun for so many people. It ruined my childhood a little bit.... thanks for that Mr. Majors
Heard my mom n family had made their mark in Stunts (Hal Neeham, Donners, plus paternal line loving that adrenaline of racing). Cool to see everyone jam to the original long after "fall guy" n many friend in the biz doing some stuff that made movies ...EPIC! Cheers to the pioneers.
My dad used to love this show... This song is such a MAN'S song! I used to jump off furniture, swing off buildings(Thanks Ted..bad influence male friend) Grandmother knew I was going to grow up into the FALL Guy. That ended with the first broken arm c.1989 and mother's first doctor's bill! LOL.
I am no country music fan, but I really like this song, so I understand why this song was a hit in Germany. Lee Majors sure can sing. He got the good country voice and the manly looks for the Fall Guy.
I'm 32 now and I still remember The Fall Guy. And MacGuyver, Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, Blue Thunder, A-Team, Simon and Simon, and other tv shows that made tv awesome to watch that I may have forgotten to mention. Oh yeah, and Sledge Hammer. What do we have today? Some bullshit called reality tv. Bring back the 80's. Hell, why not bring the 70's back, too.
The German-dubbed version of "The Fall Guy" is far more entertaining than the original broadcast - so the success of the main theme was just a sign of the success of the show.
Ive heard this many times 40years ago every Friday night. But today it made me sad/ happy understanding its true message of memorial day and the fallen ones, so other angels can have the quality of life. The fallens are the sacrificial lambs

He was just kinda making fun of himself, since everyone says that he isn't a singer! Personally, I love the song, and think his singing voice, showcased in the Fall Guy, and in a few rare occasions of the Six Million Dollar Man, is very fine! It's certainly not bad!
"I guess they don't know anything about music over there..." lol!! THIS is why Lee Majors is my favorite actor!! though many don't I think his version of "the unknown stuntman" was absolutely great! (better than the crap they call music nowadays, anyways..)
i like the way Lee Majors sings it.i always liked the fall guy one of my favorite shows
Me too, I wonder did he ever considering covering the song Midnight Plane to Houston?
Lee totally nailed it. His is THE definitive version.
I’m just finding this in 2024, 15 years after it came out. Glad I got to see, hope those guys in the band are doing okay, very talented. ❤

'74 here from Italy! The show was quite popular here as well. Now I play it on my guitar. 😁
In America 🇺🇸 we were wild about the song 🎶 and the tv 📺 show too. Heather Thomas was a favorite of the guys. I have always loved Lee Majors ❤
@@edenlarryz9076haha 😄 nice !

It is well known that Beethoven sucks at 80's tubes...
He was more famous in the end of 70's, with his fifth... (Overused in Derrick...)
