WOW that is way too kool. how is the motor hooked up to the jet and what did you use for the jet and is it hooked directly to the crank or through the tranny. I want to build a 16 footer with a CB 900 motor that I have that is ported and polished and I think it would go quite nicely. My son Has SMA and will at some point be in a chair and would love to build one for us to enjoy so any help with some info would be much appreciated,what boat plans did u use and great build a job well done.

@smgeorge816 2stroke are lighter but 4 stroke are better power range and sound.... both are just as good as each other really, just work out the hp you want then how heavy a boat...

i believe its in a direct drive first gear (thats a guess) but if it was in 6th or 3rd. it wouldnt redline as fast and and get to a higher speed... currently have a cbr600 jetski with its trans and airshifting.its fun... but im not propped for it
motor came from auckalnd wreckers, 3k. yer i sorting planes for the net, be easy to do at school, what town? privet message me in utube if you need more info
he has some real trick machine work to run off the right hand side of the motor... Not through the gearing. So I am thinking got rid of the clutch and went off the end of the crank... very good job... hmmmmm CBR900rrr at 182hp at the rear wheel sitting in my shop time to start building a new toy . You can see his set up at 0:27 of the video
sounds way short on impeller, that engine could twist an impeller with twice that pitch prolly :) awesome build m8. amazing hull. well done!!!

But a 1977 CBF 750 Honda engine off a street bike in that boat that will give you plenty of power 4 cylinder engine with the header pipe

Jet pumps should be able to handle the rpms of 6th gear overdrive. I imagine that a 1000cc would have to more than enough power

Sounds like a lot of cavitation to me
TheDalk it's not cavitation it's because it's driven off the clutch, which roughly halves crank rpm.
are these propelled by just the RPM's of the engine or is it hooked up to a transmission of some sort?

Justin Bechtel theirs no real need, just like jet-skis are all direct drive, but this engine isn't the best when paired with a pump, to high of rpms.
I realize that jet ski's and what not are direct drive.

Why not include the transmission. Ive always dreamed of doing a project like this but I image being able to shift gears would make it much faster.
