Hi, Bryan. I would say that they're free to keep the feasts, but Jesus never required that of His followers, so they are not "obeying" Jesus by keeping them.

@@TheBiblicalRoots Yeshua didn’t explicitly required of His followers that they keep the feasts (and the Sabbath). Nonetheless, from what He (and Adonai) did say, one can only conclude that keeping the feasts and the Sabbath is a part of the way of life of a believer in Yeshua. Let me try to prove the truth of this conclusion.
The voice of Adonai on the occasion of the transfiguration: “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!” (Matthew 17: 5)
Yeshua in John 10: 30: “I and the Father are one.” “I know Him [the Father] and keep His word.”(John 8: 55). By the way, that word ‘is settled forever in Heaven’, Psalm 119: 89.
The commandments of Adonai are equally the commandments of Yeshua, who, according to 2 Timothy 2:13, cannot deny Himself (that would be the case if He could approve the abolishment of the feasts of Adonai and the Sabbath for His followers). Yeshua expects from His followers that they keep His commandments (John 15: 15, 21), which ‘logically’ includes the feasts of Adonai and His Sabbath.
That followers of Yeshua may be as Abraham was, in that he obeyed Adonai by keeping His charge, His commandments, His statutes, and His laws (Genesis 26: 5).

@@aribenjacov I'm not against Torah observance, but the law of the letter does not save, but the Spirit saves...
If you'll notice the theme throughout scripture is keep the commandments. But truly what YHWH Commands is this,
Zechariah 7:9-10 NKJV - “Thus says the LORD of hosts:
      ‘Execute true justice,
      Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
      The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
      Against his brother.’
      Joel 2:13 NKJV - So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the LORD your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
      Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.
Isaiah 58:5-8 NKJV - Is it a fast that I have chosen,
A day for a man to afflict his soul?
Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush,
And to spread out sackcloth and ashes?
Would you call this a fast,
And an acceptable day to the LORD? “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
      To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
      And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
      And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

Great interview! I think it’s so important for us Gentile believers to learn how to effectively witness to Jewish people, as the Lord could providentially put someone in our path one day, so we should always be ready to share the Gospel and explain why Jesus is the Messiah!
I was surprised to hear your guest say that there’s only 150,000 Jewish people who believe in Jesus. I had no idea it was so few, but it brought to mind that there’s 144,000 Jews who are sealed at the 7th seal in Revelation. I don’t know if there’s a correlation there, but it’s interesting.

This is fascinating. I'm slowly working my way through this entire channel! Somehow watching "The Chosen" TV series got me super interested in the book of Hebrews - I see it as pivotal to the Christian faith as it clears up a lot of confusion between old & new covenants - & so I did watch the Hebrews Pt 1 & 2 videos, but I've stayed, because I now realize the HRM "controversy" covers many of the very issues I wanted deeper study into & not because I'm coming out of of HRM (because I'm not). It's interesting though, because I'm seeing now that many of the (ahem) unkindest & most pernicious "trolls" in The Chosen's comment sections are advocates of these very same HRM ideas & so in an apologetics kind of way I'm learning counters to their arguments... Granted I don't think any are persuaded by being shown the appropriate Scriptures, but it does help to clear things up for other more neutral people coming in behind & reading the same comments. And that may be the worst feature of HRM "evangelizing" is that it sows so much division & strife. People forget that there are children & even unchurched from other countries using the comment sections & these HRMs come in gangbusters full steam ahead swinging hammers & laying down laws & condemning people to hell for things they don't even understand & in the most insulting way possible. The other day I saw a 14-year-old girl (from India, going to school in the UK) say: "What are you talking about? All I know is I love Jesus!" to some HRM who was blathering on in graphic detail about an American cultural phenomenon that in no way applies to her. (It was disgusting & I'm not going to repeat it.) Anyway these videos help me understand what's going on. It does seem like cultism (of all sorts) is going to be a major feature in the end time & we need to be ready for it.

When the Apostle Paul spoke concerning the Jews, he was not referring to an ethnicity; he was referring to patrilineal lineage and those accepted as Hebrews through registry. See 1 Chronicles: patrilineal lineage is the criterion to accept and refuse as in Ezra 10.
Pre-Israelite genetic structure was patrilineally Shemitic; however, the Torah (law) established homogeneous subraces and demographics (Nu. 36.5-13). The Apostle Paul (as late as the New Testament) denoted himself as a descendant from the tribe of Benjamin (a subrace of Jacob, which was also mentioned as one of the returning groups from the captivity including Judah--Ezra 1.5). It should be noted that if those among the Ezran Congregation were later to be designated as "Jews" (members of a Hebrew subrace), then to equally designate the descendants of those that were polluted and separated from the congregation also as "Jews" would be patriarchally defamatory and genetically fraudulent!
One of the last times that we heard of twelve Hebrew tribes (and their inherent patrilineal genetics and genealogy) was their established unity through the light of Jesus Christ in James 1:1. Eventually the tribes became extinct. Only Gentiles (even "Jewish" ethnic peoples) exist today.
Modern Judaism is 180 degrees from ancient Judaism. Herzl Matrilinealism attests to the cult of the modern "Jewish": Nu. 36:5-13, Ezra 10:3, Dt. 4:2, Ezra 2:61, 62, Ruth 4:18-22. The matrilinealists will never find their lack of Hebrew racial identity by refusing to acknowledge the biblical method. It would be so pleasant to hear a "messianic jew" admit he doesn't have patrilineal Hebrew identity and that he isn't an accepted Hebrew descendant of the tribe of Judah, but I've never heard one say it!

      James 2:8-17
[8]If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
[9]But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
[10]For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
[11]For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
[12]So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
[13]For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
[14]What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
[15]If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
[16]And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
[17]Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
If we don't steal but break Sabbath, what are we? There is a big difference in something unable to be done, and something done away with. I can't keep the laws that are specific to women, so does that mean they are done away with? People without crops couldn't leave the corners of their non existent field for the poor, the widows, and the orphans. Did that make that law void? To offer sacrifices in my backyard would be breaking the command because the command was to bring the sacrifices to the place where God said to. The Temple.

Robert Solberg, you stated that the Kosher diet, the Torah feast, the Saturday Shabbat, and those sorts of things are, in your opinion, permitted but not required for followers of Yeshua. You depict them as rituals given through Moses.
I have three questions for you:
    1) Is it your opinion or Scriptural?
    2) If they are opinions, then why are you making it appear as if that is what the scriptures say?
    3) If God gave the law to Moses to give his people, are not they God's laws?
In Deuteronomy 4:2, Moses commands obedience: "You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you." So, I ask you again, are the Mosaic laws God's laws, yes or no? Whose law is Moses commanding you to keep-his or God's?
It is sad that your followers cannot see that you are teaching opinions and not the truth of what God made clear when he first spoke. You are doing a great job of blinding them with your presentation.
It appears that you are interviewing Jews that you know agree with you so that you can continue to teach your opinions.
As for Dan Sered, who said he is the COO at the international ministry Jews for Yeshua, it is good if he is ministering to the Jewish people, but if he is teaching against God's law, he needs to be removed. Let me make this clear: we are made God's righteousness in Yeshua apart from the law and saved by faith alone, but the Spirit of God fulfills the righteousness of the law in us as we walk after the Spirit.

      3. Yes, they are God's laws. Moses was merely the mediator. I refer to the commandments as the "Law of Moses" because that is the term that Scripture consistently uses to refer to the commands that Yahweh gave Israel at Mount Sinai through Moses (Josh 8:31-32, 23:6; Judges 4:11; 1 Kings 2:3; 2 Kings 23:35; 2 Chron 23:18, 30:16; Ezra 3:2, 7:6, Neh 8:1; Dan 9:13; Luke 2:22, 24:44; John 7:23; Acts 13:39, 15:5, 28:23; 1 Cor 9:9; Heb 10:28).

It is amazing that you did not respond to my last week's post, but you responded to this one.
      1) If it is scriptural, why did you say, "in your opinion?"
      2) Do you agree with Deuteronomy 4:2?
      3) You say that the laws are permissible; if so, why did you say in the past that you find it weird if a Gentile believer observes them, or are you willing to humble yourself and denounce that statement you made?
Robert Solberg, I am not a lawyer, or maybe I am; I will let you decide that, but in a court of law, even though I would be praying for God to guide me, the judge would be questioning your statements, and the one question he will ask you is, Is it your opinion or scriptural? If you say it is scriptural, you would have to prove it to him, and I do not think you will be able to because you are not speaking according to the scriptures; you are giving opinions, and in many of your statements, you used the phrase in your opinion.

    • @TheBiblicalRoots
      @TheBiblicalRoots  Рік тому +1

@@sundownsam3369One thing you might not realize, Sam, is that anytime anyone claims something is "Scriptural" they are expressing an "opinion"-they are making a personal assessment/conclusion/judgment based on what they believe Scripture teaches or says.
For example, when you claim something I've said is *not* Scriptural, you are expressing your personal opinion, not a fact. We can each appeal to biblical texts that support our assessments and judgments and discuss why we came to different conclusions. And maybe one of us will convince the other one of their position.
In fact, that's the beautiful thing about reading Scripture in community! No one is perfect or always right. We are all finite beings trying to understand the living Word of the eternal God. And there is plenty of room for reasonable believers to disagree on secondary matters and still be brothers and sisters in Christ.

The statement that you made, "not required but permissible," is an opinion, and if so, you cannot use that phrase if you cannot prove it. It is possible to take verses out of context in order to make a thought or opinion seem factual; doing so would be regarded as a fallacious tactic that is being used.
I do not post to convince anyone; that is not my job. I post to show how clear God was the first time he spoke, and if one is distorting scriptures or giving opinions, I will point it out.

As brothers in Yeshua, when it comes to the Scriptures, we teach according to what God made clear the first time he spoke and not according to opinions when they are not factual. Tell me, in a court of law, can a case be won based on opinions? No! It is won on facts or a lie.

Where does God say in the TANAKH YOUR OLD TESTAMENT, I will send my son to die for your sins, and you only have to keep my COMMANDMENTS (law) Until Paul comes and he can abolish the ones he doesn't like because I was only joking when I said they are to be kept forever, and your Jew For Jesus does not understand that Jews were scattered throughout the nations for turning to a God that they did not know at Mount Sinai, and to have a place in the world to come they have to Repent, and turn back to God, and keep the Torah and if he knew the messianic chapters in the Tanakh, he would know messiah comes once at the end of days, and there will be worldwide peace and knowledge of God, the Temple will be rebuilt, and the sacrifices will start again so Jesus did not die for our sins. 20 The soul that sins, it shall die; a son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and a father shall not bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. 21 And if the wicked man repent of all his sins that he has committed and keeps all My laws and executes justice and righteousness, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

monotheism began the same way it will end: Abraham's covenant is the heart circumcision that makes one a monotheist and nothing else can because without the heart circumcision one has not experienced Hashem so they have no idea how he is one and how there is NONE beside him: ALL religious belief is conjecture of the ego and carnal mind (five physical senses): Jesus said ABRAHAM saw my day and was glad: It will take the same thing for all Jews and gentiles and Christians and Muslims to know how GOD IS ONE and his NAME is ONE: The experience of the heart circumcision which is why this covenant is between Hashem and Abraham and "ALL" his descendants: This is the only thing that comes with the PROMISES to Abraham. The Mosaic law comes with blessings and curses but the ABRAHAMIC COVENANT makes one a MONOTHEIST and a Jew and understanding of how HASHEM is ONE and there is NONE and I mean NONE (not even you) besides him: The Abrahamic covenant made him a FATHER OF MANY nations and joined him to Hashem and those who claim him as their Father without that covenant are simply not telling the truth. Christianity is based on the Abrahamic covenant that the house of David, tribe of Judah experiences after the order of Melchizedek. It is not based on the Mosaic law which is given to Israel who did not keep the Abrahamic covenant till they do and fulfill Jeremiah 31, the heart circumcision. When Israel keeps Abrahamic covenant, they will be OUT OF EXILE and become a TRUE LIGHT to the nations:
Daniel 9 and Mathew 24 are the CUTTING of that covenant by the MESSIAH within the heart (inner court) of Israel: This is the covenant of circumcision: Without this, there is no WITNESS of the Messiah and the inner court, the holy place, the HEART OF THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL are still left with the abomination that causes all desolations in the earth. Only Israel can remove it and it is removed by the Messiah cutting that covenant with them. This is the REAL JEWISH FEAST DAYS and I know, because I experienced them in 1992:
God dies as his own SEED (YACHIDA) for three days (3000 years) till he is completely risen in all people so the GLORY of the LORD can fill the earth as the WATER covers the sea (subconscious): THE YAHIDA is the "ONLY SON" or the LIGHT that goes OUT from God (Hashem) as a seed, (seed of the woman) rises within the woman (heart, inner court, this is how Messiah rises in the HOUSE OF BREAD (Bethlehem) and becomes FOOD for the beasts (Heart without God that now is going to experience the CUTTING OF THE COVENANT (Jewish Feast days): A seed falls to the ground and dies (we are the ground and the good ground of our heart must RECEIVE (Kabbalah) this Yachida, so God can FORM HIM as the INNER MAN of the heart (VOV in YHVH's name) by the SHIN, the threefold flame that comes from a SINGLE POINT (DREIDEL, singularity) which is how Hashem/God is ONE and his name is ONE: HE comes as HIS OWN SEED TO US to be among us (IMMANUEL):
its not hard once you grasp it based on experience:
all who experience it will find this ONE TRUTH and all those who don't, will remain in religion or atheism.
PS, God's seed started rising within Abraham (his own loins) as the YACHIDA (Isaac) who is a part of Abraham and God together, making HASHEM ONE with his creation, able to REFORM them into "MAN" (the Last Adam): If your heart is not circumcised, then you are not part of Abraham or Isaac, but part of Ishamel (man who must HEAR God): Only the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob "SEE" God and LIVE: ONLY the heart circumcision makes you KNOW ('da'at) Hashem as ONE and his name as ONE (ECHAD): Religion makes you believe, but the heart circumcision by the YACHIDA, makes you "KNOW".
Christianity then is only REAL when you EXPERIENCE it like the first Christians: From the time that it became a "BELIEF" system, along with Judaism, it became a religion, continuing with blessing and curses if you keep the law, which Jews can not keep because of all their excuses, but it is all because they lack the heart circumcision, making them a LIVING STONE in the TEMPLE HASHEM alone can build on the cornerstone (Messiah), no longer stony hearts, or stiff necks because they have TURNED BACK their heart and neck to God (teshuvah) by the POWER of the anointing (Messiah) that fulfills the law in the heart and mind.

An arguement from silence isn't an arguement at all. What need would Jesus have to tell people to keep Sabbath if they were already observing it? Where did He teach many times? In the church on the Sabbath. Jesus teaching at other times doesn't get rid of the Sabbath because we are supposed to always be speaking and teaching the Word.
    Deuteronomy 6:7
[7]And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Jesus didn't break the Sabbath according to God's law, He broke the Sabbath according to manmade doctrine.
    Matthew 12:10-12
[10]And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
[11]And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
[12]How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
    John 7:15-24
[15]And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
[16]Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
[17]If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
[18]He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
[19]Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
[20]The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
[21]Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
[22]Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
[23]If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
[24]Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
    Matthew 12:3-8
    [3]But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
[4]How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
[5]Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
[6]But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
[7]But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
[8]For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
Do you think that the priests profaned the Sabbath by ministering in the Temple daily? Do you think that resting from work means to rest from keeping God's commands? Jesus talked alot about the Sabbath, but He didn't specifically say to keep it because they already were. If the NT said "Rob, you still have to keep the Sabbath." Would you say "it was talking about some other guy named Rob" or "but it doesn't use my full name, so it must be talking about someone else." It's funny that the number one excuse I hear for not eating according to the Bible is, "I love the taste of those things." That's just a generalization, but it's still true. They say that before twisting scriptures like Acts 10. Some people's belly comes first.

I agree that Jesus never broke the Sabbath. And I'm sure you would agree that in Scripture He never taught HIs followers to remember it or keep it, either.

If you listen carefully to this part in the interview about the Sabbath, Dan clearly says that Jesus kept the Sabbath and that he was accused constantly for breaking it. This is because men added all these silly extra rules for keeping the day holy. We have people that won't even turn the key in their car or turn on a light switch today. This is crazy and not keeping the Sabbath holy, but keeping it complicated. It is so simple yet it has a bus load of made made rules. Jesus only spoke a word and healed, yet they were filled with anger because He healed on the Sabbath. Jesus spoke against this non-sense. You remember the Sabbath and keep it holy by resting and not working. But if your neighbor' car is stuck in the snow and needs to be pushed out, then you would go help them out and return back to rest. You wouldn't say sorry neighbor I can't push you out because it is the Sabbath. Jesus even said the same about a sheep falling into a pit on the Sabbath. Keep it simple, is what Jesus taught. God bless.

@@TheBiblicalRoots The logic is sound. Jesus gave corrections and clarifications on those things. In the verses I mentioned in the last post, Jesus was correcting the Pharisees on what could be done on the Sabbath. He wasn't telling them to keep it or not to keep it because they already were. The Pharisees just had extra laws tacked on that God didn't give.
      Honour your parents:
      Matthew 15:1-6
[1]Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
[2]Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
[3]But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
[4]For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
      [5]But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
[6]And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
      Murder:
      Matthew 5:21-22
[21]Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
[22]But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
      Adultery:
      Matthew 5:27-28
[27]Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
[28]But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
He was either correcting or clarifying. He wasn't cherry picking commands that now have to be kept while the others are void.
While I can agree with you that Jesus never specifically commands anyone to keep Sabbath in the NT writings, you should be able to agree with me that He never specifically says anything about Sabbath has changed. The writings that you use from Paul could be understood two different ways depending on presuppositions. Colossians 2 is what I am referring to.

For us who consider ALL SCRIPTURE is given for doctrine, reproof and correction, do you deny what the Prophet wrote, when he told us how long we should "Keep the Law of Moses, the commandments and statutes and ordinances" which would include the Sabbath, Feasts & Dietary laws, in
    Malachi 4:4 & 4
The Great Day of the LORD
4 “Remember the ***law of My servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances*** I commanded him for all Israel at Horeb. 5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and ***awesome Day of the LORD.***
The ***Day of the Lord***, has NOT arrived yet. Therefore all the commandments (that can be done without a temple and priesthood) are still in effect as they would have been for the Prophet Daniel.
Nowhere and no one, in the NT contradict Malachi and tell us that we stop keeping these observances when Messiah died. Messiah definitely did not make this claim.
No one in the NT would contradict the prophets, not even Paul were in Acts 24:14 said he believed
*** EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS!**
Paul obviously read the book of Malachi, which tell us when we stop observing God's commandments and that time has not yet arrived.

@@adamguy33 Do you actually know why some people remove the vowels? I know why, but do you? If so, you need to respect people for treating the title of capital "G" G-d for the name of the almighty with reverence. It is used far too much as a curse word.

Theologically you are not a Christian. You are blind. Trying to lead others to stay blind. Christian means to be CHRIST LIKE, Walk as HE did. JESUS kept all his assignment, will and Torah of GOD.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
      1John 2.
JESUS said, the FATHER speaks through me and does his works through me.
So the father said. If you love me keep my commandments.

@@walkinginthegodgiven-jerem5502 and truly you are not a Christian, no theology needed here. You are blind and the truth is not in you. You are so far from Christ that you couldnt walk like him if you tried with all your might. You spread lies and use scriptures to do it, satan does that easily. Your a gentile trying to be a jew and failing at both. You search the scriptures thinking in them you have eternal life, but that life is far from you

The Torah is an instruction manual which helps with psychology, physical health, and learning how to treat others in a caring way. This comment shows you don't understand that at all.
