Read Jeremiah 31. Some prerequisites missing for the new covenant to be in effect. Can't just pick and choose a verse here and there and build doctrine off of it. Isaiah 28 speaks on this but few can understand it. Verse 12 though it says refreshing yet we would not hear, Messiah came for the lost sheep of Israel to bring them back into covenant and by extension anyone else that hears the good news and wants to join the covenants. We obey the Torah and YAH is our God, if we don't He isn't and that's His words. Read Deuteronomy and when Moses speaks of latter times he speaks of today.
The problem today is people rush to people for answers rather than see what TMH has said to us in scripture. YAH is infallible where as us men are not and we get stuff wrong all the time. How many people that read this don't agree with Deuteronomy 30? Clearly Moses says those who obey the Torah get regathered into the land yet most today think it was abolished 2k years ago. Who do we believe? I for one go with Moses, the prophets and the Messiah. All said obey the Father's commandments. It's even in Revelation again and that was post Paul so either people are misinterpreting scripture or Revelation was wrong. 12:17 14:12 22:14 , all the messages to the churches say repent too, same meaning from Genesis to Revelation.

The true church is composed of all faithful believers, Jews and Gentiles, in Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. Our salvation comes from our belief that Jesus, through His great love and His freely given sacrificial blood, saves us from all the wrongs we have done and will continually cleanse us from all our failures that will happen. Jesus, sitting at the right hand of God, and the Holy Spirit will constantly comfort us no matter what the circumstances are. By our faith we know all things are through Jesus.

Deeply thankful to your teachings. I have had a number of Jewish clients of various congregations. Now I am serving an observant Jew who has great passion for Judaism, but as I finally revealed I am Roman Catholic, declared to me the Holy Trinity is blasphemy, idolatry, and now I have knowledge and before God to learn the truth.
We actually get along very well.
But the other day, it was deeply disturbing of their understanding was that we are idolators, that St Peter was insane, that St Paul was epilectic and grandiose narcissist, that he was fake, that other religions all had images of a messiah being born of a virgin mother, that Christ never existed, that all the gospels were created a long time later, and the Catholic Church killed millions of Jews.
I know of the deaths of Jews, 2000 in number, instigated by a Cistercian monk who was AWOL from his monastery, and an erratic bishop, Germany always a problem for the Church. There was the Crusades who also killed innocent Jews in Jerusalem.
I also know the Elizabethan England created anti Catholic propaganda claiming the killing of millions that English speaking Protestants believe. And the Jews were deeply mistreated in Rome, even by popes. So I am trying to find more actual facts of the Church’s mistreatment of the Jewish people.
Both the Apostles Creed and Nicene Creed at every liturgy and Pontius Pilate is the one who consented to the death of Christ.
But listening to this presentation, I must admit the Catholic faith fulfills Judaism, what is presented here. Christ is the Cornerstone, the Church both physical of human beings, not church buildings.
It is the Blood of Christ Who sustains the Church, not man.

I find eastern orthodox offered me clearer answers to many questions than growing up catholic. I ended up in Hebrew roots but realised my error after reading the earliest church fathers writings. I used to attack catholics but now I see they were more correct than my Hebrew roots beliefs, the thing that sways me to eastern orthodox is the filioque issue, and the simple clear answers orthodoxy offers, even the preists can marry and everything just seems even more ancient and in line with the apostolic fathers. But I have a new found respect for catholics despite agreeing more with eastern orthodoxy.

    Hello Professor Solberg,
Well, this time you really did it. So, you have the author of Hebrews 7 and 8 tossing out the Levitical priesthood, never to be needed again, to make way for the priesthood of Christ after the order of Melchizedek from Psalms 110:4. Then in chapter 8, the author of Hebrews tries to convince us we are now under a New Covenant, quoting Jeremiah 31 in support of that theory. But, what both of you are overlooking is that Jeremiah 33:14-18 utterly disagrees with your conclusion here about the Levitical priesthood. Jeremiah is not arguing for the New Covenant causing a total end of the Levitical priesthood back at the cross, but instead two chapters after speaking about the New Covenant, Jeremiah strongly makes the case for God retaining the salt covenant God makes with the Levitical priesthood, as does Ezekiel 44 in kind.
So, when you are cherrypicking the prophecies of Jeremiah, you and the author of Hebrews happily run to Jeremiah 31 to push for a conclusion that openly attacks the position Jeremiah himself upholds two chapters later in Jeremiah 33:14-18 concerning God’s claiming there will be future Levitical priests and animal sacrifices. So, Jeremiah’s position is that the cross would not have perminantly done away with Levitical priests or animal sacrifices. And this further suggests that the author of Hebrews 7 and 8 did not properly understand what transpired back at the cross. But, instead is tempting you to go against conclusions God has already reached in Jeremiah 33:14-18. No wonder Christians are so incredibly confused about issues involving the New Covenant and the priesthoods of Torah.
There didn’t need to be a change to the law, because God had no intention of changing his salt covenant with the Levites. Because, Christ was never trying to become a member of the Levitical priesthood which is obvious from Psalms 110:4, because he was already declared centuries in advance to be a priest forever after the Order of Melchizedek instead. And that Psalm never raised problems with the Law of Moses before. The whole point of preparing in advance for two different priesthoods in Torah is so that the law wouldn’t need to be changed. Neither of these priesthoods are infringing on the lawful status or rights of the other.

Rob I'm afraid your perspective of "better" is that of mankind, but God wanted a faultless covenant, where sin was not ongoing. The new covenant forgives sins at baptism, sins committed before accepting Jesus as Lord, as there are no more sacrifices for future sins.
Jesus reconciles believers into his ministry so that they as priests live by faith, not sin, as part of their profession or oath of faith in the new covenant contract.
Those sanctified find the covenant "better" as promised they are perfected at judgement when they die, as those past sins are finally washed away.
Those like Saul was a lost sheep, a hypocrite as he gave the law but lacked faith and due to sin did not keep it, this is all explained in my Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity'.
The believing of Abraham required he be perfect, a two-way contract, as is the new covenant by the obedience of faith as laid out in Romans. Baptism is expressed in Romans 5-8 for those who truly are baptised with the Spirit.

Jeremiah 31:34 (KJV) And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
We are still asking people do they know the LORD .
Not all know the LORD as of yet .
You are proof we are still teaching our neighbors .
So the way these verses read .

Thank you, Rob. In Hebrews 8:10-12, the gracious provisions of the new covenant are detailed. It must not be ignored that in both the original passage from Jeremiah and here, it is clearly stated that the new covenant is to be made with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
Both verse 8 and verse 10 refer to a time when this occurs. Since the two divisions of the kingdom (Israel-Judah) are distinguished, this is clearly a literal promise. Such a time will indeed come when the ancient divisions will be forgotten and Israel shall be one nation living in the land promised them.
Ezekiel confirms this in Ezekiel 37:15-23. At that time, he states, God promises to cleanse them, and “they will be my people, and I will be their God,” the very words used by Jeremiah as the main provision of the new covenant. This, too, is the substance of Isaiah’s awed prophecy:
Who has ever heard of such a thing?
Who has ever seen such things?
Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment?
Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children. (Is 66:8)
New Testament support for a time when Israel will be saved is found in Paul’s words, paraphrasing Isaiah 59:20-21: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins” (Rom 11:26-27).
Though the writer of Hebrews undoubtedly applies this new covenant to the church, those commentators who deny its future application to the nation of Israel ignore great areas of Old and New Testament prophecy.
The basis for applying this passage to the church, though it is not stated in Hebrews, is Paul’s declaration in Romans 15:4 that “everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
And again, “These things happened to them [Israel] as examples [Gk typikos, as ‘types’] and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come” (1 Cor 10:11).

Yes, we are currently in the new covenant, and Israel, the only elect nation, will enter the new covenant when the Son of Man, the "Deliverer," returns in glory as King.
Romans 11:25 "Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in."
Romans 11:26 "And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, 'The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob;"
Romans 11:27 “And this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Romans 11:28 "As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers."
Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
Romans 11:30 "For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience,"
Romans 11:31 "So they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now[e] receive mercy."
Romans 11:32 "For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all."
Romans 11:33 "Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!"

New doesn't mean different. That which decayeth and waxeth old ready to vanish, he made new again. Refreshed, revived, made new as it had never been broken.
When Jesus walked the Earth, what covenant were we subject to? Which covenant was broken, and required a blood penalty by one of the two parties involved? Which covenant did Jesus bleed and die to satisfy? If you answered the Old Covenant to all three questions, you get a star :) Ok one more, which covenant has a death penalty paid for in advance for ever? Yes, correct, very good!!! Making the old new again and so much better by paying the death penalty in advance for the offending party.
The Covenant was made between two parties God and mankind. When mankind sinned at the golden calf, God was obligated to "kill them all" Moses talked him out of it, simultaneously talking God into dying on their behalf. God can't die. But if somehow he could become human flesh, he would be able to uphold the Covenant and establish it forever. Wow you guys are so smart, you all blurted out "JESUS" I'm so proud of you all. Gold stars for everyone!
Now it makes perfect sense that the New Covenant is God writing his commandments on our heart, and we are subject to his whole law. Even all the ceremonial priestly stuff, since Jesus is our High Priest, and we are the Temple of God.
Thank you for pointing this out and explaining it to us all. Now we can stop acting like pagans and start following Jesus (who is God) in truth and spirit!

Your statement that the old and new has no change is shocking to me.
These are some notes I took a little while back.
      New covenant
      v. Old
      •Direct access
•Pre approved. God looks at Jesus record. Old covenant was conditional on your attempts at righteousness.
      •Unconditional vs. Conditional
Unconditional for all believers vs. Dependant on obedience
The NT believer is in a covenant that cannot be broken: all of its conditions are on the part of God.
•His righteousness vs. Our attempts at righteousness Deut. 6:25 (Deut. 5=10 commandments passage)
      •Substance vs. Shadow
-shadow describes and proves the object, shows movement/motion of the object. No power or life.
      •No holy days
In the New Testament there are no direct instructions for certain days. They often met daily.
      •Eternal vs. Temporary
Everything with Israel was related to time. Feasts, promises. Looking for an end, fulfillment. The covenant would have an end. A New Testament would allow them. Into eternity. OT extended days, NT eternity
The church doesn’t have holy days, scheduled feasts nor a definite beginning or end. It demonstrates eternity.
      •Internal vs. external
Not outward physical rules, restrictions, boundaries. The heart, mind. Relationship. Abiding. Walking in the Spirit. Fruit of the Spirit vs your outward efforts. Love.
Old covenant-external designed to cause the people to do right. New covenant works from within. Through the work of Christ God places his laws, ways and desires within the believer through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The desire from the believer to do right comes from within.
•Blood of Christ vs. Blood of animals
      •Spirit vs. letter
Letter required death. Spirit gives life. Letter-bondage, Spirit-Liberty
Letter limits insight. Spirit brings clarity
      2 Cor. 3:13-18
      •Spiritual vs. Carnal
      •Life vs. Death
Sin and death-focus of the law
•All who believe vs. Chosen people
The covenant with Israel only applied to them. People could join by adopting the system and practices but it was not open the all like the new covenant.
The church is not addressed as Israel. There is no use of the term "Israel" in the NT that is an explicit equivalent to the Christian church.
One new man. Sons of God. In Christ. Saints. Household of God.
Read the OT to see and understand the purpose and significance of Christ

[38] But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

I don't think he fully understands the marriage covenants and the reason that Yeshua had to come to earth but he is still very clear on much of the bible. Thanks for mentioning such a great bible scholar! I pray Yah continues to bless his ministry the way is he is.

New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below?
Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?
What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary.
God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9.
If the New Covenant is "everlasting" in Hebrews 13:20 and the Old Covenant is "obsolete" in Hebrews 8:13, why would any Christian believe God is going back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period?
What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below.
Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him.
He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The gospel was to go forth to all nations (Matthew 28:19). There is no way the entire world descends from Israel although the other tribes are certainly still scattered (Jeremiah 3:18).
The law doesn’t apply to the nations.
