I remember playing madden 25 on all madden and me and my buddies would all try to score on the panthers lol. Luke would make every tackle. That guy was our favorite player that wasn't a green bay packer.
@@timboslice8559 I don’t if he felt he couldn’t continue I respect that it kills me to hear players talk about debilitating body issues hearing megatron talking about being in so much pain he can’t even lift his feet off the ground is crazy dudes give so much to the game
As a Panthers fan, the thing that I LOVED about Kuechley was that there was no doubt that he cared. Many times saw him be absolutely pissed that his team gave up a touchdown. I was lucky to get to watch Luke and Cam for 8 seasons, they were fun to watch and cared about the outcomes 100%
The man was just a football wizard. It seemed like he was in on practically every tackle of the game whether it be solo or assisted. It was just crazy to watch him play.
I will forever cherish the memories I have of watching 59 on the field. If you listen closely you can still hear the "Lukeeeeeeee" chants echoing through the Bank of America Stadium.
Luke's like Superman. Dawning the cape on the field then the glasses and cleaning up the locker room after the game. I didn't see Patrick Willis make his announcement, but Luke's video was shocking.
That ‘15-16 panthers team is one of the top 5 all time greatest. Luke, TD, Shaq T, Norman, Peanut Tillman, Roman Harper, Greg Olson, Cam, Ted Ginn, Jared Allen, Trai Turner, Ryan Khalil, Michael Oher, J Stew. Put up 500 points in the season, went 15-1. It was a hell of a team to watch. It made that super bowl loss that much worse.
As a saints fan back in the day, 59 was terrifying, he would destroy Pierre Thomas in the A gap then the next play beat Reggie Bush on a screen to the sideline. Crazy shit.
The most impressive play i’ve ever seen Luke in, was him getting mossed my Julio Jones. Because he had NO business running stride for stride with FREAKING JULIO JONES!!! 😭😭😭
People love to hold that play against luke like you understand that he is covering Julio better than a corner or safety that game and jumping with him 40+ yards downfield right?
You always respect veterans but especially nowadays it seems like every other guy from every draft from the last 10 years is out of the league in 2-3 years...If you can start multiple years, let alone make multiple pro bowls, you really are a football god
Ill never forget me and my college buddies used to have a madden league wed play and every season youd draft your team like fantasy and for a few years kuechly was the first guy off the board, says alot on a video game to take a MLB like that
Might be a lil late..... but what an interview... the boy is in his bag gett'n to what the people wanna hear... s/o TEU.. an cant wait til Luke is on the pod!!!!
Luke could absolutely have been considered one of the best LB ever, had he kept playing. It’s obviously a tall order, and it would’ve required a SB, but he was just next level cerebral defensive player. Honestly, probably more skillful and tactical than even Ray Lewis. My favorite LB after LT
Thomas Davis was criminally underrated. T.D was the one who would "un-dress" you. I seen interviews with people who played against him (quote)" i wanted to know where he was at all times" Dude was a beast, to play 16 yrs , yeah the MF was different
He cared more about winning than looking cool in his uniform like most of these brothas do, wearing earrings, stupid bands on their arms wrist bands and a stupid little cat tail towel hanging out of there waistband. Never whining about someone making more money and not playing through his contract. He just shut up and played and was one of the best ever.
He made me a big fan of the panthers next to cam, TD, peanut, ginn, Olsen and JP. loved watching that team. Such a shame concussions fucked up a guy that would’ve went down as the GOAT MLB. Guy could reach plays like nothing.
nat fa nuttin but this brings up another point. Lets look at any team but Scama (All Nickey). OSU for example. They get their D success/failure thru a game savvy middle backer. Of course never credited except as quietly as possible.
Hmmm...Mount Rushmore of middle linebackers I've seen? Ray Lewis for sure. Junior Seau has to be on there. Give me Urlacher...and then it comes down to Kuechly versus Willis
The first time I saw luke was watching Boston college can’t nobody tell me any linebacker was better than him people talk that Bobby Wagner shit bruh fye but he wasn’t better than like won’t change my mind
@@Jayhawk92 many guys don’t. That why Greg is saying Thomas is a freak for doing so. If many guys did he wouldn’t have pointed it out as something that made Thomas a freak. Luke Kuechly didn’t go from running high 4.5s to a 4.4
How Olsen just casually lists off racists tropes in reverse, funny as hell, if you listed off the black athlete stereotypes that casually your career would be over cause you know.......waycisms
Everyone exaggerates a little bit when it comes to physical attributes in athletics. But it is fair to have him on the Mt Rushmore for MLBs. It'd be very tough to find a better 8 year run than Kuechly's and keep in mind that teams would develop their game plans to try and minimalize his effect on the game.
Luke was elite from the jump for nearly a decade. Better be first ballot.
I remember playing madden 25 on all madden and me and my buddies would all try to score on the panthers lol. Luke would make every tackle. That guy was our favorite player that wasn't a green bay packer.
He retired when he was 28 that’s the only knock I can find against the guy! I just wished he played at least 2-3 more years

Trash
Not a Panthers fan but BIG FACTS!!!!
People throw around the term “built different” very loosely but Luke is the absolute definition of it
Definitely different. I don’t think i seen a player recognize a play faster. It was split second fast.
I’m glad I got to watch Olsen, TD, Cam, Luke on the same team very fun.
CMac out the backfield
I remember the Monday night game against the Panthers. The Patriots lost in a last second, what a game lol
@@LetsG00000 cmac came later and wasnt apart of that core in their primes

Luke was a monster - him & Thomas Davis were something to watch. He reminded me of ray lewis but the new era. #59
“I wanted to be called a poor mans Luke Kuechly” wills real af man🤣 and there right that would be a hell of a complement for any player

Luke is a top five MLB all time no doubt. Guy was so football smart!
🤔
He is top 2.
Football, not baseball.
Luke was one of a kind
My favorite player to watch after Ed Reed. Just a master of the game and a very humble guy.
I love Greg Olsen he was a great player definitely gifted

Him and Bobby Wagner ran the 2010s as Mike linebackers
Patrick Willis and Navarro Boman may have something to say about that..
clay matthews?
lol let’s just say Luke was on top of the pack but the pack wasn’t weak bc it was some dogs playing nd he still was better
Will Compton got on the lawnmower 300’s 😂

Elite leg crossing from Will here

Some real dad shoes on this podcast 😂

I whole heartedly agree. Especially cause there was little-to no - fall off when the 9th year ended. Dude was remarkable!
Luke was the actual best MLB to ever play the game, and easily among the best defenders of all time.
Luke and Willis were ahead of our time man

Great interview
Tillman was my guy. Such an underrated defensive back that whole year. Sheesh 💪

the sound quality in recent vids has been kinda bad no disrespect but i wanna hear these guys fr!! plz look into it boys
Luke was good from the start tho and whenever he played he was always great so longevity shouldn’t be held against him.
Need the same energy for Patrick Willis
9 years is pretty long especially for a middle linebacker

Hey Jim Brown retired after 9 years i think. So Keuchly has done enough time. He was consistent from rookie to retired.

Luke Kuechly ran 4.58 at the Combine.

Why Greg sound like Thad
“He’s a lunch pale kinda guy”
Kind of cringe to hear the stereotyping that is done but Luke and TD were studs. Both were absolute units.
Your audio is terrible. Didn't make it thru the vid.
Connor Stallions started young...
Wow Dexter put on some weight
Let Olsen talk FFS
Luke should've went 1st if brains were not only projected to QBs
Bruh didn’t even change any games or get his team anywhere . Not much of a difference maker
Kuechly was barely over .500. How is that elite. So the other team outsmarted him half the time. Lol
Kuechly or Urlacher are not even in the top 25 in wins by a middle linebacker. Romanowski is #1
Left out Bobby Wagner
