I used to be in Defensive mode to keep the Griefers off me but then I had players who would attack me in such a way that it would force me out of Defensive mode so now I can't use it, instead I pump Lemat rounds into them until they die.
Literally what happened to me yesterday when i killed a guy multiple times trying to burn my moonshine so he called a friend that kept chugging health tonics and every time he got shot he drank another tonic, freemode high level pvp is cancer..
@@fazlxD all freeroam pvp is cancer unless both parties agree on rules and have organized fights. A lot of us tried to have respectable clan vs clan fights in 2019 but it fell apart, too much cheating

Then you are probably a passive griefer. You don't attack players, But find a way to annoy them psychologically. Things like blocking their way or lassoing them and even steal your horse.
There still are Players in Lobbies and Griefers will Check Cities and small Villages First since there is a bigger Chance of Player to be there. In the open it is more difficult to find one Obviously.

@@DirtyMikeHoncho Oh and pay attention if you play the Protect Legendary Animal Mode, Players are able to Lasso you and they Drag you out of the Zone and if you can't get back into the Zone you die. Even if you die you get the Sample for the Animal regardless but still. Be aware of that.
You forgot about the ones that kill you and then run into safe zones and laugh at you when you fight back, but they know they'll get destroyed so they hide and spam emotes and then hop sessions. XD
I have seen this too, but I also used it againts griefer that want to proove a point and start killing you, and then you dont fight back, to let them know, well you aint that great, and they continu to kill you, so at some point I just wanted to irritate him by being untouchable. And it did irritate him because he started to called me of names and screamed on his mic really bad stuff on me, honestly this was a bully or else, but you got to use it againts them, if they use it themself lol. I mean I fight back most of the time, but some day, I dont want to, I just wanna hunt or else, and you know being a gown up, that works during the day, sometime you aint really focus at night when you play. So fighthing while being tired isnt really the best, especially againts pro, you really need all your focus...
Saw a lot of low level griefers runking in stores when they found out that they can't use auto-aim. Placing a stick of dynamite near the door often helps because they become very cooky when they think you gave up, but in reality you just wait a bit aside to shoot the TNT 😁
A month ago i finally got a snow buck but it decided to died right in front of a grifer posse . fuckers took my plet and killed me multiple times. I nearly quited that day
I was once just fishin and then sudenly a low level player tied me up and put me on his horse but then I escaped, tied him up and kept kicking him until he died. Then he came back and I just kept tying him up until eventually he gave up and left Moral of the story, if you wanna grief, do it properly
Once I was griefed by some dude and his friend. After I killed them both a good couple of times, one of them messages me a laptop with a bunch of ip addresses and said "I'm booting you off". I immediately reported his ass with pictures and all. I swear, the things people do just to avoid taking an L in a video game amazes me.
I play solo and used to griefers by now but for whatever reason they seen to be the worst players. Last time it was me versus 2 of them and I was killing them nonstop. When eventually a 3rd one came to help them they were able to kill me. I nerver, never ever attacked any other player first.
I once got attacked by a posse of 5, right after completing the bank robbery story mission, using explosive and incendiary shotguns. I mercilessly killed them until THEY reported ME for griefing. They where a bunch of pansies
That’s how you defeat griefing. You learn how to fight. Griefing usually isn’t fun when they get killed. There’s a lot of awful PvP players in this game.
I've had some real creepy ones this year. Even one messaged me making real life threats. Now when a player kills me at random, I relentlessly hunt them down until they leave the session.
I’ve been grieved but modders and a posse who blew up my delivery wagon and kept stalking me and killing me after I wanted to be left alone(sadly I think they were also using cheats) I understand if people want to blow up other players wagons or intercept missions (I don’t like it but I get it) at the same time once you’ve succeeded in blowing up the wagon or stealing someone’s supplies and delivering it there needs to be a cool down period where you can’t keep torturing the player you just attacked for a period of time bec it gets to the point where it’s bullying….I mean you’ve already succeeding why keep killing them?
Funny I think I ran into someone using cheats because I'm a decent lvl not the highest but dude ate 7 shots of express rounds from my rolling block rifle and still killed me
Every other session I join seems to have people nodding the game. I’ve had people take no damage, teleport behind me from miles away, once there was someone spawning legendary animals outside of Rhodes. Look online for the solo online session mod, that should let you have the chance to complete your missions without getting griefed
I'm one of those generous players that will randomly give people a 3 star animal or stow it on their horse lmao it feels good to be generous but if they backstab and kill me they instantly regret it lol

Like damn, I just want to play poker not get griefed by a god mode insecure gamer consecutively. Despite dealing with these Micahs I am constantly being surprised by the generosity and spontaneous assistance from randoms. Coincidentally the majority of these gamers that have assisted me are or were griefers. It’s a beautiful game yet there is always an unexpected Micah roaming around waiting to *uck things up. I have my own griefer type: The paragraph griefer. Someone aims their gun at you so you react and pull out your gun and they kill you until you kill them once then they send you an essay on how your a disappointment and what not. Amazing! 🙄

What a Dummy this Griefer was, one Dynamite Arrow from him to the Horse(s) on the Delivery Wagon and you would have had a Problem. The Griefer failed to do such a simple Attack.
There's the creeping griefer who hangs about or follows low levels scaring them or provoking them in some way. They then proceed to follow the poor mucker about the whole session. We all have at least one mate who does this for a living.
Because once my friend was being griefed. So I join and am in starter clothes. Walk into gun shop, he waits outside (the griefer) I walk out full kitted and call my bounty wagon and kill him.
I ran into high lvl Griefers on my alt account and they kept talking shit in game chat but after getting farmed by a lvl 24 account they left while they were lvl 300 and 600.
I had one moment of a low level griever tried to hogtie my friend when she was leaving the photo booth. The guy didn't expect 4 high level people to come out of the booth to fuck him up
This is great. I’m 44 and missed the boat on so many games for years. Getting into it now and I’m like wth...? I play in D mode and generally like to help others fight off wolves, bears, or a-holes. 😎
Im a new player. I dont grief.. I just want to go online and enjoy my session but sometimes its hard when griefers are running into my horse time after time. I just want to hunt animals and make a bit of cash for better clothes ect.
I don’t have as big of a problem with people who run around killing others for no apparent reason as some do,it’s just people having some fun in a video game, but one thing I do have a problem with, is anybody who takes advantage of modding, glitches and harassing other players over text or the in-game mic.
I was minding my own business when 4 players rode up and shot me without hesitation. I let it slide because maybe they accidentally did that. For the next 20 minutes i got hunted and killed non stop until eventually I left the game pissed off.
Well I will not attack a griefer back. If they killed me I will offline or open catalogue and make some tea. The earth, the water, they have no pride. They endure, and we must endure.
The ones that I hate most are the ones who take advantage of being able to knock you out of Defensive Mode by ramming thier horse into you ... oh, and the ones who leave horses parked sideways in the road over a blind hill.
I never leave the session. That just gives the griefers the Satisfaction they want. I sit in a shop and shoot them a message over xbox chat. Going "I can do this all day mate" and sit there.
Make them waste ammo or lead them to a place with hostile npcs I once lead a greifer posse to cailgia hall and it just so happened that they had the law on them too so they had grays and lawmen after them during the fight.
i always see ppl who try to justify griefing as “just another part of the game” as ppl who dont rly care much for others :/ having someone throw dynamite at your fully stocked wagon right before you reach the drop-off point HURTS.
I remember this one time when I was a level 8, I almost got griefed by a whole posse at night time in Valentine. I was spending my hard earned money changing my character’s hairstyle and buying some new pants then suddenly I saw the blue dots on my map pop up, I didn’t do anything I just stood there to wait and see what happens if they’re griefers, and I was right. This player missed a shot at me so I instantly bolted right outta there, running between Smithfield’s and that building beside the pharmacy. I didn’t have time to get on my horse so I sprinted drinking the bitters to keep my stamina up for a period of time until I got to the wooden bridge and escaped all the while whistling for my horse. I was low level so I didn’t have the firepower and enough resources to have a fighting chance yet.
Still so many griefers in this game. Came back after not playing for a long time and my first couple of interactions with other players I got griefed. Do they prefer to play alone and let the game die? Because that's what they are doing.
Ehhhh all it does is fill crips's supplies though right? Mines pretty much always full so I've never seen a point in fucking someone out of 650 dollars for like 10 minutes of work for me. I'd consider it griefing because you're just using that as an excuse to steal their wagon and kill someone. Which I mean i get if your things empty but still I'd technically consider it griefing

And I really cba to keep getting materials for the Trader because either Harriet will be mad, or I get frustrated from not finding 3 star animals. I can kinda see where you're coming from tho, as it is just killing someone out of nowhere, but I'd say it's still less of griefing than destroying the wagon, because you're atleast using it to do something, and not just getting rid of it.
I think that it's mean, but it is also an aspect to the game. I think it's really just a moral decision for how you want to play the game. The other day, I thought a dude had stolen something from someone, and so I shot him and turned in the mail he was holding. And then I felt bad because I realized that I'd stolen his package.
What about those explosive griefers. The ones who stay till they run out of explosives leave restock and come back. Cant forget those wonderful people lol.

I have seen people take 10 explosive rounds and not die cause of stupid god mode glitch or the tonic glitch but it will definitely knock them on their ass lol. And you have very little luck using a bow when someone is using explosives lol, unless they have terrible aim haha
There was one player who was low level (lvl. 12) and I saw he was being attacked by a higher level griefer though lower than me. He was being attacked while delivering goods as he was a trader. I immediately intervened and decided to help the guy. I'm an opposite of a griefer, I'm a helper lol.
I just had a posse of 5 grief me while I was doing a free roam moonshine mission. I couldn’t beat them by myself. I just let them keep killing me and waste their explosive ammo. They eventually got the picture and left. I’ve noticed that most griefers are kids.
If youre on console you can change your Mtu settings so you get solo public lobbies, I only play in populated public lobbies when my mates want to play, even then my experience with other players has been agreeable, this game isn't that toxic compared to Gta lobbies. This game having no end game content plus rewarding those very hgh level players with explosive ammo, is just asking for trouble though.
I was holding a bounty today and a guy came up and shot my friend who also had one on her horse. I shot back and he died, my friend respawned and we ran to the police station all the wile he couldn’t get a single shot in. He was over 100 levels higher than me.
You forgot 1 Type of Griefer: Those "without hobbies" These are Types of Griefer where even try to kill you if you are on your Camp and when they realize they can't kill you at your Camp they will wait even a half hour or more just to kill you.I speak from expierence man lol.

I've been bullied. Hogtied, beaten, chased, stabbed, blown up, and shot by griefers. I've gotten use to death. In beta I would just let it happen after so many times. I would feel nothing after them doing it. I would just change sessions if I knew they weren't going to stop. I use to look at it they were the ones wasting ammo and money buying ammo. Now I have some awesome friends to support me when I get into trouble. I'm not so helpless anymore. I'm slowly improving on defending myself. Great video John.

I was playing red dead online and I was on a bounty hunt and the next thing I know someone hogties me and throws a molotov on me and afterwards started chasing me throughout the entire session until I'd decided I'd had enough and started fighting back

@@Coco-bl8zg As a former griefer, I can tell you that I did it to improve my pvp skills, since shootout lobbys are empty and free roam events like kotc, fools gold, and railroad baron are not as frequent as I'd like. However, I wasnt a regular griefer. I only griefed higher levels, bc I considered them a "real challenge"
I just really enjoy the melee combat in this game, sorry to anyone I annoy if I just start beating you to a pulp or shanking you with a knife. I try to make my character look like someone you better keep a weapon out for, which is why I made it look like Micah.

As someone playing with a female character, solo on low level.... I meet at least 2-4 of these griefers every time I play. I'm starting to tire of this game just because of that reason because it always disturbs me developing my character. Like if I'm fishing or standing still browsing the catalogue or my options menus it has happened SO many times that someone gives me a headshot from the back. Like.. what are they trying to achieve? Last time I couldn't help but wonder if they have a really boring life irl... but then realised that someone who's on like level 400 in an online game and finds it necessary to attack players on level 35 can't have much of a life, period.
My recent girefer experience was with a “IRL Weirdo” it’s an easy fix dough. Don’t reply to any of the messages they send, just delete the chat and block the user. 👍🏼
I usually play with my posse so if someone attack me or my mates we will rain down hell on the attackers untill they leaves the lobby, im not the type of guy who like to kill someone with out a reason, but luckily im not encounter much of these types of griefers, most of the time player are chill and friendly

I used to shoot most people during Beta cause there wasn't much to do, but now I'm more interested in just leaving people alone. RDO is already very grindy and time-consuming, so making it more difficult for other people is lame.
lol this is funny, I just encountered the 4th type just a few days back, tipped their hat at me and then used dynamite to blow themselves and another player in the lobby, by which time I had moved into the store and hence was saved 😂

I play on PC and today I ran into griefers/modders that would spawn all area players together in the same location and then just randomly shoot. It didn't matter if you're in defensive mode. It was SO annoying. RDR2 online is SUPER broken. I have NEVER seen this type of shit in GTAV online.
I had a guy attack me when I was doing a bounty with pve cards on but when I put the pvp cards on and was ready to fight he fast traveled and avoided me. Such a shame.
My hostility goes up if someone kills my horse brutally. When that happened, I fell into deep shock and I mourned deeply for him. I felt relieved that he came back alive
I would add the opportunist griefer. They grief when they see another player in a plant picking animation or animal skinning animation, or being attacked by wolves or any situation where the player won’t be able to fight back.

I never play in Defensive mode and I do get killed. But often can this prevent me from being killed at all.
Defensive mode only takes 2 carcano shots unless they drink a tonic. It's only defensive against the players who don't know the game.
The point is that you can't do deliveries, missions or bounties in defensive mode

I play solo and used to griefers by now but for whatever reason they seen to be the worst players. Last time it was me versus 2 of them and I was killing them nonstop. When eventually a 3rd one came to help them they were able to kill me. I nerver, never ever attacked any other player first.
I once got attacked by a posse of 5, right after completing the bank robbery story mission, using explosive and incendiary shotguns. I mercilessly killed them until THEY reported ME for griefing. They where a bunch of pansies

PvP can actually be fun - if both sides are roughly even and into it. But those griefers usually don't look for that.

I’ve been grieved but modders and a posse who blew up my delivery wagon and kept stalking me and killing me after I wanted to be left alone(sadly I think they were also using cheats) I understand if people want to blow up other players wagons or intercept missions (I don’t like it but I get it) at the same time once you’ve succeeded in blowing up the wagon or stealing someone’s supplies and delivering it there needs to be a cool down period where you can’t keep torturing the player you just attacked for a period of time bec it gets to the point where it’s bullying….I mean you’ve already succeeding why keep killing them?
Funny I think I ran into someone using cheats because I'm a decent lvl not the highest but dude ate 7 shots of express rounds from my rolling block rifle and still killed me
Every other session I join seems to have people nodding the game. I’ve had people take no damage, teleport behind me from miles away, once there was someone spawning legendary animals outside of Rhodes. Look online for the solo online session mod, that should let you have the chance to complete your missions without getting griefed
I'm one of those generous players that will randomly give people a 3 star animal or stow it on their horse lmao it feels good to be generous but if they backstab and kill me they instantly regret it lol

Like damn, I just want to play poker not get griefed by a god mode insecure gamer consecutively. Despite dealing with these Micahs I am constantly being surprised by the generosity and spontaneous assistance from randoms. Coincidentally the majority of these gamers that have assisted me are or were griefers. It’s a beautiful game yet there is always an unexpected Micah roaming around waiting to *uck things up. Oh well.

I have my own griefer type: The paragraph griefer. Someone aims their gun at you so you react and pull out your gun and they kill you until you kill them once then they send you an essay on how your a disappointment and what not. Amazing! 🙄

There's the creeping griefer who hangs about or follows low levels scaring them or provoking them in some way. They then proceed to follow the poor mucker about the whole session. We all have at least one mate who does this for a living.

I ran into high lvl Griefers on my alt account and they kept talking shit in game chat but after getting farmed by a lvl 24 account they left while they were lvl 300 and 600.
I had one moment of a low level griever tried to hogtie my friend when she was leaving the photo booth. The guy didn't expect 4 high level people to come out of the booth to fuck him up

Im a new player. I dont grief.. I just want to go online and enjoy my session but sometimes its hard when griefers are running into my horse time after time. I just want to hunt animals and make a bit of cash for better clothes ect.
I don’t have as big of a problem with people who run around killing others for no apparent reason as some do,it’s just people having some fun in a video game, but one thing I do have a problem with, is anybody who takes advantage of modding, glitches and harassing other players over text or the in-game mic.
I was minding my own business when 4 players rode up and shot me without hesitation. I let it slide because maybe they accidentally did that. For the next 20 minutes i got hunted and killed non stop until eventually I left the game pissed off.
My absolute bane is “The Stalker”, someone who follows you across multiple sessions even after you go offline...
And people who use the term “Jump”

The backstabber is the one that infuriates me most. When I join posse up, I sometimes join a posse that immediately kicks me out and headshots me.
Well I will not attack a griefer back. If they killed me I will offline or open catalogue and make some tea. The earth, the water, they have no pride. They endure, and we must endure.
The ones that I hate most are the ones who take advantage of being able to knock you out of Defensive Mode by ramming thier horse into you ... oh, and the ones who leave horses parked sideways in the road over a blind hill.
I never leave the session. That just gives the griefers the Satisfaction they want. I sit in a shop and shoot them a message over xbox chat. Going "I can do this all day mate" and sit there.
Make them waste ammo or lead them to a place with hostile npcs I once lead a greifer posse to cailgia hall and it just so happened that they had the law on them too so they had grays and lawmen after them during the fight.
i always see ppl who try to justify griefing as “just another part of the game” as ppl who dont rly care much for others :/ having someone throw dynamite at your fully stocked wagon right before you reach the drop-off point HURTS.

I remember this one time when I was a level 8, I almost got griefed by a whole posse at night time in Valentine. I was spending my hard earned money changing my character’s hairstyle and buying some new pants then suddenly I saw the blue dots on my map pop up, I didn’t do anything I just stood there to wait and see what happens if they’re griefers, and I was right. This player missed a shot at me so I instantly bolted right outta there, running between Smithfield’s and that building beside the pharmacy. I didn’t have time to get on my horse so I sprinted drinking the bitters to keep my stamina up for a period of time until I got to the wooden bridge and escaped all the while whistling for my horse. I was low level so I didn’t have the firepower and enough resources to have a fighting chance yet.
Must have been the worst griefers ever, if you got away like that 😂

Still so many griefers in this game. Came back after not playing for a long time and my first couple of interactions with other players I got griefed. Do they prefer to play alone and let the game die? Because that's what they are doing.

And I really cba to keep getting materials for the Trader because either Harriet will be mad, or I get frustrated from not finding 3 star animals. I can kinda see where you're coming from tho, as it is just killing someone out of nowhere, but I'd say it's still less of griefing than destroying the wagon, because you're atleast using it to do something, and not just getting rid of it.
I think that it's mean, but it is also an aspect to the game. I think it's really just a moral decision for how you want to play the game. The other day, I thought a dude had stolen something from someone, and so I shot him and turned in the mail he was holding. And then I felt bad because I realized that I'd stolen his package.
What about those explosive griefers. The ones who stay till they run out of explosives leave restock and come back. Cant forget those wonderful people lol.

I have seen people take 10 explosive rounds and not die cause of stupid god mode glitch or the tonic glitch but it will definitely knock them on their ass lol. And you have very little luck using a bow when someone is using explosives lol, unless they have terrible aim haha
There was one player who was low level (lvl. 12) and I saw he was being attacked by a higher level griefer though lower than me. He was being attacked while delivering goods as he was a trader. I immediately intervened and decided to help the guy. I'm an opposite of a griefer, I'm a helper lol.
I just had a posse of 5 grief me while I was doing a free roam moonshine mission. I couldn’t beat them by myself. I just let them keep killing me and waste their explosive ammo. They eventually got the picture and left. I’ve noticed that most griefers are kids.
If youre on console you can change your Mtu settings so you get solo public lobbies, I only play in populated public lobbies when my mates want to play, even then my experience with other players has been agreeable, this game isn't that toxic compared to Gta lobbies. This game having no end game content plus rewarding those very hgh level players with explosive ammo, is just asking for trouble though.

I was holding a bounty today and a guy came up and shot my friend who also had one on her horse. I shot back and he died, my friend respawned and we ran to the police station all the wile he couldn’t get a single shot in. He was over 100 levels higher than me.

These are Types of Griefer where even try to kill you if you are on your Camp and when they realize they can't kill you at your Camp they will wait even a half hour or more just to kill you.I speak from expierence man lol.
Happened to my friend when we were just hanging around in his moonshine shack we had a random guy for 20 minutes for one of us to come out unfortunately my friemd got killed by that random and got annoyed at it because soon after he killed my friend he left the session

I've been bullied. Hogtied, beaten, chased, stabbed, blown up, and shot by griefers. I've gotten use to death. In beta I would just let it happen after so many times. I would feel nothing after them doing it. I would just change sessions if I knew they weren't going to stop. I use to look at it they were the ones wasting ammo and money buying ammo. Now I have some awesome friends to support me when I get into trouble. I'm not so helpless anymore. I'm slowly improving on defending myself. Great video John.

@@Coco-bl8zg As a former griefer, I can tell you that I did it to improve my pvp skills, since shootout lobbys are empty and free roam events like kotc, fools gold, and railroad baron are not as frequent as I'd like. However, I wasnt a regular griefer. I only griefed higher levels, bc I considered them a "real challenge"
I just really enjoy the melee combat in this game, sorry to anyone I annoy if I just start beating you to a pulp or shanking you with a knife. I try to make my character look like someone you better keep a weapon out for, which is why I made it look like Micah.

It’s so satisfying to make a griefer go into defensive mode or leave the game. Then see there butt hurt rage messages of how your a bad player because you use express ammo xD

As someone playing with a female character, solo on low level.... I meet at least 2-4 of these griefers every time I play. I'm starting to tire of this game just because of that reason because it always disturbs me developing my character. Like if I'm fishing or standing still browsing the catalogue or my options menus it has happened SO many times that someone gives me a headshot from the back. Like.. what are they trying to achieve? Last time I couldn't help but wonder if they have a really boring life irl... but then realised that someone who's on like level 400 in an online game and finds it necessary to attack players on level 35 can't have much of a life, period.
My recent girefer experience was with a “IRL Weirdo” it’s an easy fix dough. Don’t reply to any of the messages they send, just delete the chat and block the user. 👍🏼

I usually play with my posse so if someone attack me or my mates we will rain down hell on the attackers untill they leaves the lobby, im not the type of guy who like to kill someone with out a reason, but luckily im not encounter much of these types of griefers, most of the time player are chill and friendly
i was griefed twice today, i was just hunting for pelts and three douchebags roll up and decide to shoot at me when i just finnaly found the animal i was looking for.
I used to shoot most people during Beta cause there wasn't much to do, but now I'm more interested in just leaving people alone.
RDO is already very grindy and time-consuming, so making it more difficult for other people is lame.

I was once fighting a lvl 10 in Valentine. Lvl 10. He got his hands on some explosives and killed us without us expecting. We killed him and over and over and he started to tell me that im a hoe or something like that he barerly spoke any english. It was music to my ears to see him cry.

I play on PC and today I ran into griefers/modders that would spawn all area players together in the same location and then just randomly shoot. It didn't matter if you're in defensive mode. It was SO annoying. RDR2 online is SUPER broken. I have NEVER seen this type of shit in GTAV online.

I had a guy attack me when I was doing a bounty with pve cards on but when I put the pvp cards on and was ready to fight he fast traveled and avoided me. Such a shame.
The Defensive Mode Griefer really annoys me and I do crosspaths with them occasionally. Just leave me to hunt and gather resources in peace.

My hostility goes up if someone kills my horse brutally. When that happened, I fell into deep shock and I mourned deeply for him. I felt relieved that he came back alive
I would add the opportunist griefer. They grief when they see another player in a plant picking animation or animal skinning animation, or being attacked by wolves or any situation where the player won’t be able to fight back.
I’ve played for months and never have run into griefer.
