I just learned that this group is from Oslo, Norway. They recorded a cd in Glasgow, Scotland in 2017. Their style and appearance had me fooled also. I thought they were straight from the mountains here. I understand that that some folks from the mountains might be able to tell the difference, but for me it sounds authentic, including audience reaction.
The same Viking genes that Oslo has sent us in the members of this band, are also part of Scotland, Ireland, and any other place in great Britain where the Viking genes found a place to take root, and those same songs that came with the Irish and the Scotts to the colonies in the new world as indentured servants, soon made their way to the hills and mountains of Appalachia where their songs blended with yet another group of descendents of that mixture of Celts, Gaels, Danes, Swedes, and the Norse. Where the sagas of the heroes and the laments of tragic loss are mixed together with traditional instruments in a harmonic mix that just raises the hair on the back of your neck. It is something primal from ancient times that speaks of a people who will persevere in life despite all the troubles that might come their way. Taking their power from the music of the high lonesome hills.
This is one of a very few songs that I can listen to over and over again and still want to hear it again. What a beautiful voice! If you guys make a CD, I want one.
I think of my sweet 14 yr old son who left us way to soon everytime i hear this song. Sean - I know all your wounds were wash awayed as you saw our savior. until i hug you again - Love dad.
Halting an old man's heart from growing cold, the outset of this song makes me laugh and cry, call me a joker and disregard me but I will call upon your name.

The timing is superb and the harmony is so sweet. Can’t stop watching this concert. What a wonderful way to hear the gospel and a group with a wonderful ministry.

What about the thumbs down? I think those folks are doomed, they have no happiness left in their soul.
People say there is no talent left in music today, the real talent has left mainstream music and is now in the periphery, like bluegrass. Haunting voice with talented musicians, a delight to hear
Truly amazing! I've played bluegrass since 1959 and these people take second place to no one. The female vocalist and fiddle player are not just note close they are spot on. It's a shame more people don't know about them. I believe in the USA they would me considered a phenomenon.
I agree ! I'm overwhelmed at such talent ! The blend of instruments with the voices and the pitch changes so quickly ! It's truly amazing !
I'm from the heart of Appalachia and you sing like you were born in the Blueridge mountains. I reckon Norway has lots of beautiful mountains too.
There are indeed beautiful mountains there. Some old folk tales speak of folks coming from Norway and settling in the Southern Coastal states over a thousand years ago. The English in the 17th century who settled in Virginia spoke of "white natives".
You have many great songs, but this is my favorite. The song paints a beautiful picture of our hope of Eternity with Our Savior Jesus Christ. Your rendition makes my heart ache in the best way possible.
WHY WOULD THE LEAD SINGER CHOOSE THAT TIGHT FITTING AND REVEALING COSTUME THOUGH???
VERY INAPPROPRIATE AND UNACCEPTABLE AND AGAINST EVERY COMMAND OF MODESTY FOUND IN THE BIBLE. CLEARLY SHE WORE IT INTENTIONALLY TO BE REVEALING AS WELL, WHICH MAKES IT THAT MUCH WORSE.

New Living Translation
Living the New Life
3 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. 9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized,[ slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.
Such beautiful, universal sentiments. Thank you for keeping this music alive.

I went back and listened to the version by the song writer, Julie Miller, as well as the Emmy Lou Harris version, the Emmy Lou Harris WITH Julie Miller version and the Ane Brun version of All My Tears. The Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra version is by far the best version of this song, in my opinion. Hayde Bluegrass brought the song to life in a ways none of the others did. What an amazing arrangement with incredible vocals. Absolutely beautiful!!
Hayde sang this song in a church back in 2015. Check it out.
This is a beautiful version most definitely. But I grew to love this song as Julie's song and her voice will never be matched in my book. Her voice is simply a treasure. Yes, it's not for everyone, but to those of us who love her, it's magic.
@matt Harvey Emmett Franz has brought me to tears with The Petersen’s version of this...and this is glorious as well. How wonderful we get to hear both.

Lyrics:
When I Die don't cry for me
In my fathers arms I'll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I'll be whole
Sun and moon will be replaced
With the light of Jesus' face
And I will not be ashamed
For my savior knows my name
It don't matter where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
It don't matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away
Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven's store
Come and drink and thirst no more
So weep not for me my friend
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to him
Who will raise the dead again
It don't matter where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
It don't matter where I lay
All my tears be washed away

@@kjones3693 "Go" has for millenia understood as an acceptable synonym for "die" in the end of the earthly lives of Cristian believers, just as the Apostle Paul used the word "sleep": this expresses the certainty that death is no end for we who go to join our King.
(Not just the English word "go" which has obviously not been about for 2000, or even 1000 years but words which translate to "go", leave, depart, etc. In similar fashion Paul didn't say the Enhlish word "sleep" but the Greek (or Latin or Henrew or Aramaic) word that meant "sleep".

Best version of the song I have ever heard!
Told my wife I want this played at my funeral.
