I look forward to cook Oden, because it seems amazing for a cold winter day. Also, it seems so simple to prepare it. Just to be sure: if I want to add potatoes or vegetables like carrot, broccoli or cauliflower - I cook them in water and add them to the Oden soup, when they are fully cooked, right ?
That's exactly right. You should blanch the vegetables and then add them to the soup after they've been cooked. If you add potatoes to oden and leave them to cook for too long, they'll fall apart and the soup will become cloudy, so be careful.
Nice sharing 🎉Yummy
Thank you!!
Thank you, Sho. I will make this, this weekend. :-)
Thank you! I know it's difficult to get the ingredients, but please try making it with the ingredients you can get.

Thank you!!

It's not Oden if it's not boiled.
Yes, boiling oden enhances its flavor.
I see this plate in the show samurai gourmet, they stew everything also tomatoes, I can’t wait to try it
There are also regions in Japan where people put whole tomatoes in oden.
