    Just remember they're only original once, better to smooth and polish the factory parts than to replace.

    I owned the same car years ago, I reside in Aussieland and it was known to be the only one in the country. it came with a 283 but replaced it with a 454, used to smoke the tire really well. Sadly I had to part with it due to the GFC of 08/09. It was fast with all that horsepower, but my 92 MR2 turbo used to leave it behind, but it was about 1/2 weight and had close to 450HP at the wheels, sadly the MR2 went as well, my chopper and the ex wife, but that was a blessing LOL

    • @bmstylee

      That's one mistake thankfully I haven't made. I don't have an ex-wife.

    • @ISRAELITE.ZEBULUN
      @ISRAELITE.ZEBULUN Рік тому

      @@bmstylee Did it the just the one time, never again. As an old bloke I still look at them, but that's it. I did well most of my life, love them and leave them, but the ex was younger, looked great, was smart, even cleaned and cooked, but was a financial drain. I got married in my early 40's all them years ago, so did have decades of sanity and freedom. But as I always say, good can come from a bad situation, sure the GFC stripped me of everything I worked very hard for, but in a twisted way it opened my eyes, and changed me as a person for the better, I do miss all my man toys, but would not change a thing. I still have a good life, have the best 3 dogs on the planet and love my mint 4.6 Explorer, and stayed true to myself as I promised myself, never to tie myself to a womin again. But there are times special watching this video where I miss my SS Malibu, my never beaten on the street MR2 turbo, my daily driver Ford Falcon GT, and yeah and my chopper, But would never fall into that trap again of pursuing the mighty dollar that provided all the man toys, and that trophy wife.

      You can easy make a 283 to be a tire shredder. But maybe not this one. I had a 67 Chevelle with a 283, with a 480 lift hydraulic cam, double hump heads, performer rpm intake and a 650 holley…it wasnt Lightning fast, but it could do some serious burnouts and it ran 13.90 at the track…

    Your next project needs to be mid-late 70's "Smog Era" car from 73-77 and do exactly what you did with these car. The mid-late 70's cars have become the popular build now a days because they are still cheap to buy to do a daily driver/weekend fun car to take on cruise-ins and to cars and coffees, Go find you all a Grand Prix, Malibu, 4th gen Nova, Thunderbird/Cougar, Monaco/Magnum or even a Aspen/Volaire and get it running and pretty it up without spending 25k on it, just like regular guys are doing, to drive to work in during the week and have fun with on the weekend with 8-10k put in it, It aint gotta be perfect, just good enough to drive and look good have fun with.

    Brings back memories of my Black 64 it was 1973 as a sophomore I didn’t have my license yet. My Dad had a Sinclair station and I bought the car from a dealer next door who sold a lot of Muscle cars. Got a $100 dollar discount for getting a haircut and paid $900. It had a 400 small block , solid lifters, headers, Muncie 4 speed, 488 gears, disc brakes and interior out of a late model Chevelle. It was a beast and I know it would cost 35 to 50 K to replace.

      The Powerglide is a two-speed automatic transmission designed by General Motors. It was available primarily on Chevrolet from January 1950 through 1973,.
      TorqueFlite is the trademarked name of Chrysler Corporation's automatic transmissions, starting with the three-speed unit introduced late in the 1956 model year as a successor to Chrysler's two-speed PowerFlite.

    I'm usually a fan of this channel and it's build selections BUT, I had a 65' SS back in 85' and didn't realize what I had at the time Sooo this is a disappointment. Using a 283 block is lame. Buy a JY 350 and build a respectable 383 stroker if you want a SBC and go for a BBC if you want ALL the marbles. Even my 65' had a 327 SBC.
    This is pathetic as 400HP is so yesterday with no street cred anymore. If you want to up your game the 450-500HP is easily attainable without being over the top.
    The expense of a EFI system on a 283??? REALLY?!?!?😧

    I know you guys at Powernation are basically advertising parts and components from your sponsors. But what ever happened to using a little elbow grease to clean and refresh trim parts and chrome, rather than simply replacing it? It may not be 100% perfect, and if more people did that, your sponsors would sell fewer items. But come on...
