  • Check out this 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS Restomod with a nasty LS3 engine under the hood. This is possibly the best old school car that I have ever driven. It features a Tremec 6 speed transmission with a Hurst shifter and it's just about perfect inside and out. What an amazing machine. Would you rock this restomod?

I’m 85 years old the “64” Chevelle SS was my first new car it was yellow with black interior had a 250 hp. 327cid. With 4 on the floor. It cost $3150 my payment was $73.03 for 36mo. I can remember that car like it was yesterday. I and my friends lived in the best time 👍

I didn't realize you made this video or the 91 Firebird video until I caught you live on replay. UA-cam isn't pushing your videos like they should. That may be why viewership is down. Awesome job on the content . Your the best buddy!

Awesome video, best part was seeing your smile when driving that car. Being an old muscle car guy, I would consider buying a car like that with the LS because who ever did that car, did it professionally. Good to show some older stuff and maybe some of the younger crowd may consider buying something like that versus the newer muscle cars you normally show. I enjoyed that one, thank you.

    Really nice looking cars there.
    That 64 is AWESOME!!!
The LS3 is probably one of the best motors from Chevy. My C6 has the LS3 with 436 Horsepower.
My wife’s grandmother had a 1964, Chevelle but it was unfortunately a Tan 6 Cylinder 4 door. Nope, didn’t impress me much.
Street Side Classics looks like a better stop than Disney to me!!!
As long as I could get away without buying a car!
Although with the current Admission Price to Disney it would be almost as expensive!
I go back to the “E Ticket Ride Days”
Sorry I missed last night! I had another commitment.
Living in PA I know salt and anti-skid materials are bad for cars 😢!!!!
What is like having cars in “Salt Air”?
Should people get PPF in areas near the ocean?
If you’re inland, do you have any worries?
I should ask my cousin, he bought a Challenger, but he got free unlimited car washes through his dealership in the Ormond Beach area. No other preventative service.
Back in the late 70s, I took my 1975 Trans Am to Daytona Beach for a week.
Looking back, I think I regretted it. I waxed it up pretty good before the trip, but I think the salt air and salt water on Daytona Beach did a number on it!!!
I think it was rough on the Firebird Hood Decal.
I can’t swear to that, it was probably about 40 years ago.
    Happy Halloween🎃🎃🎃
It is Trick or Treat Night for most of the towns in Blair County PA.
Are you taking Aramis out for Trick or Treat?

I'm 68 years old. This car type was my first car. 283 cubic inches. 4 barrell carburator. Short back bucket seats. Automatic in the floor. White exterior/red interior. My Dad bought it for me (I was in highschool). I think he paid $500 for it in 1970. Needless to say I would love to have it today.

I am 71 years old and this was the car that my dad and I shared. It had a 283 v-8 with a 4 speed manual transmission, 4 barrel carburetor. Quite the hot car for a guy that graduated High School in 1970. Thanks for the memories.

Early 1970, I bought a used silver 64 Chevelle 2 Dr hdtp with 6 cylinder stick (3 on the tree) as basic transportation. A number of months later, the Chvelle was sporting a slightly modified 68 302 Z28 motor, Pontiac Muncie 4 speed w/Hurst shifter and a 66 GTO posi rear with 3.90 gears. Chevelle painted 68 Caddy Nottingham (emerald) green. Never had it at the track but I sure had a lot of fun with it on the street for 10 years. Car was quick as it was so light. Surprised a lot of people who challenged me on the street. Then I sold it [1980]. BIG mistake ! [I'm going on 83 and still have the 'performance bug' !]

I owned a '56 Belair with 283 short block automatic that would run like a scalding dog.
I traded it for a '63 chevy impala 327 and 375 hp. They were fantastic cars. Oldies but goodies.

  • @tommiller8714

IMO, combining old school muscle car looks with modern performance technology (engine, trans, suspension, braking, instrumentation, etc.) is the way to go. My preference is restomods that are pro-touring capable with good performance, acceptable fuel efficiency/economy, great handling & braking, and comfortable. A do-it-all car. This '64 Chevelle Malibu SS is such a car. Nice!
Just look at the prices that Restomods (and Pro-Touring) bring at the major auctions. Frequently the restomodded cars (corvettes, camaros, mustangs, Mopars, etc., etc.) bring double, triple or more money than a nicely restored OE car brings. An exception of course would be rare, ultra-rare very low productions models with specific options and rarest engines...typically but not limited to: anything 1966-1971 with a factory Hemi; most big-block and some small block Chevrolets/Fords/Mopars/AMC, etc.

How's that driveline angle in that thing ?
I see the motor tilted way down, normally a tunnel mod is done to avoid that, especially with the T56.

Rather have the 60’s muscle. When I was 17 I bought a 1966 Chevy II Nova as my second vehicle. It had a small block 350 and a Ford 9” rear end and was tubbed out and ready for 18” wide tires. The car was a money pit but I loved that car, even if I did blow up my transmission... then I broke a con rod... then finally destroyed the ford 9” rear end so I sold it.
