- The Royal Air Force Central Scotland Pipes & Drums march through the village of Braemar, making their way from the Invercauld Arms Hotel to the Princess Royal & Duke of Fife Memorial Park for the 2018 Braemar Gathering Highland Games in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The march starts to the tune "Bonnie Dundee".
Wow, that Band Major leading looks so majestic and he doesn't miss a beat in step ( no pun tended) . He knows and demonstrates to band following exactly what is going on. What a thrill to be able to experience this magnificent tradition and demonstration of heritage!
As a South African I find I have no rich cultural identity, and if I could adopt one, this would be it. Scottish. It would be both an honor and a privilege to march with these gentlemen.
Simply breathtaking ! I can't imagine how it will be to see them in person ! Well done the Royal Air Force Central Scotland Pipes & Drums . This is perfection.
ADMIRING SIGHT.....CONGRATAS TO THE BAND ...IT WOULD BE A WONDERFUL AND JOYFULL EVENT IF YOU COULD COME AND PLAY AND JOIN THE GREEK NATIONAL GUARD AMD WALK TOGETHER AT THE UNKNOWN SOLDIERS SQUARE....OUR HERITAGES ARE CONNECTED...WONDERFUL
I saw them when I was 7 in Sacramento CA.. still digging them
I believe that the US air force and the US Marine Corps both have tartans.
When did RAF get that tartan? It looks just right!

Being German, I am very impressed by the excellence and aesthetics of this performance. What a great tradition.
Many years ago when I was living in the East 80s in Manhattan, I had a temp job which required me to commute to the Upper West Side. During warm weather, instead of taking a bus across town, I would walk through Central Park. One misty morning, as I was approaching the exit I heard a piper rehearsing "Scotland the Brave," and in the dim light I fantasized that I had accidentally stumbled into "Brigadoon!" It's one of my fondest memories 4 decades later.
A Highland village hidden from the real world, accessible only one day in a century.
Regards Robert, from Mexicali México.
@@carlosmartingalindoperez4268 And to you, Carlos! Stay at home and stay well, please!
Growing up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, I walked my dog in the park & came across the same. I lock stepped with him & he looked over & grinned at me! I was just a girl of 11 at the time❣️😁 Was an awesome moment for me ❣️
@@lauraowen8142 Thrilling atavistic experience, even for a pre-adolescent girl! Especially when, as I vaguely recall, the piper was a cute guy!
I'm from Germany, Bavaria actually. But I must say that I'm very fond of the pipes and drums. Whenever I have the chance to listen, which is seldom enough, I feel great. Greetings and all the best! Hope I can visit your country again as soon as possible.
I am so impressed with these pipe bands , the smartness and the ages ...I thought they were all elderly members , NOT so , young lads AND girls ......absolutely awesome
Some of the military and ex-service bands are all male, but most town and city bands have young performers and support the development of young pipers and drummers.
I'm from America and I love the pipes! In Fact, my father, a WWII Vet of Patton's 3rd Army, Passed away in '010. I hired a Irish gent to play Black Bear at his funeral.
David Brown well done 👍 David 🇬🇧♥️🇺🇸👍🍀🌹🙏🏴
From a u.k. David Brown, I love the pipes as well, well done lad, your dad is proud of you, kind regards, and keep safe.😃
A fine tribute to a warrior.
A worthy and thoughtful tribute.
My brother is Piper for local Police band here in Ohio. Here on the farm he plays and it tears me up . Mom served with Highlanders in Cape Town for 35 years. MacLeod Clan from Skye.
Well done to the Macleod clan of skye best wishes from Australia
The Village Of Braemar should stand proud. You represent what is best in this world. Don't let anyone tell you there's better. A heartfelt tip of my stetson from NorthEast Texas. God Bless all in Braemar.
Thank you Jimmie. It's a wonderful small place and has so much going on, especially in the summer, all down to the local people who volunteer to make sure all these events happen. Best wishes to you and merry Christmas from Braemar.
South African and proud to be a Scottish descendant, I may not live in Scotland but Scotland lives in me. Alba gu bràth. 🏴❤️
Pipes and drums...brings tears to my eyes... every time... don't know why...must be love!
Dominicans from the Dominican Republic love and admire people from Scotland.
Nice to see we can still have some heritage that others don't complain about. Wonderful. These guys would lead armies into battle and lead the way with this kind of music that would break the courage of the enemy when they heard them coming in the distance. I love it....
I'm Welsh American I'm very proud of this music and my heritage God bless you and your family
Nice to see a band with some marching skills and some good posture! The drum major means all business, and his posture and arm position and full length mace, are impeccable, making me remember when I was in a state championship youth band with a very winning drum major.
I am Polish, but my heart belongs to Scotland. I wrote so because it is true. I'm 53 years old. 35 I lived on the islands. so I think I belong to U.K. ALWAYS when I hear bagpipes and a Scottish regiment march I cry. Because I served in the best army in the world. God Save the Queen. there is only one queen . greetings to all.
Brings tears to my eyes... so proud to be Scottish!
Proud to be Scottish. Proud to be a RAF Veteran. Per Ardua ad Astra.
Braemar Media, this is fanstastic, it brings, back memories, when my son was with the 16th Battalion, here in Perth Western Australia with the Reserves unit. Before he joined the full time Australian Defence Force.
Thanks for Scotland's pipes and drums parade. The music and the march are nice. I like see the patrols.
Bless them ! Beautiful town as well. Kind of sent chills down my back. Can you imagine their enemies hearing this coming to battle ?
The Pipes are loved all over the World! This wonderful pipe band specialy! Greetings from Germany 🧡
Holy Heinz love 💕 you Germany 🇩🇪🇬🇧❤️👍🌹🙏
When I lived in Canada in the 1950's, we as a family went to the highland games there. The Canadians were big fans and I saw bigger crowds which made me feel prouder to be Scottish. But alas The old home sickness bought me back to my homeland. I missed the Canadian folk who were the salt of the earth. Still regard it as my second country and still follow my hockey team. The famous, (to me) MAPLE LEAFS
The precision of this group is magnificent!
That's the military influence
Airmen doing it right!

I love their uniform, so unique and beautiful.
Dumb Yank, here. I love pipes & drums, generally but I find this group (& the drum major) to be especially good. Well done!
Absolutely beautiful and quite moving.
If the nobility of man were reduced to one sound of one instrument, and that instrument was to be played throughout the universe to show who we are, and to make the Martians move aside, I think that it is the bagpipe that holds pride of place, and could be no other.
Amazing!! Grettings from germany
This is really great music the best in the world. It it was well photographed. The videos high quality. The officer with the long staff. High frequency. This particular music. military music. Puts fear in the enemy.. but England from the past would outlaw the bagpipes. And England as well as Germany. Continue to outlaw. White Europeans decision. Who they want to come to their country. EU.
Montse Maján Martínez Hell Yes!
Love the pipes. But have you watched Mars Attacks?
@@JM-ue7rd That long staff is called a mace 😁.

What a grand sound and the group looks mighty sharp.
I was in Scotland in summer 2018, I fell in love with the people, the countryside, the culture, everything.....especially the Inner Hebrides. My host in Oban said as I was leaving "Haste ye back"......Miss them all.

Wonderful drums and bagpipes performance !
Very nice no better way to remember V.E. day . God bless all. Stay safe 🇨🇦
When the drums knock, and the Scottish pipes screams, and I hear the jingle of the Scots feets on the ground...The world is silent around me, and disappearing in front of my eyes.😍😍😍😍

I was fortunate enough to have gotten a free ticket to the performance of the Royal Pipe and Drum Corps (can't remember precisely what military unit) at Madison Square Garden many years ago!
Save the lives of the world from depression, Scotland, save them through the music of your great folklore.🙏🙏🙏

When i think that, un their origins, these brave men fought almost naked with stone and sticks painted in blue..I have goosebumps..and these pipers went to war too..very epic..

Je me lasserai jamais de regarder votre vidéo, quand allez-vous refaire une vidéo comme cela , bien le bonjour à toute la raf que dieu vous bénisse et vous protège
Hello from Athens Greece.
When will we ever see a recording of the Royal Air Force Pipes & Drums? A combined performance with one of the RAF military bands would be awesome. These guys have such talent and it isn't on display as much as it should be.
True, it's rare to see them except the Edinburgh Tattoo. We'll keep looking to see if they have events next year.
@@BraemarMedia we are playing in Perth for Remembrance Sunday with 7 Scots pipes and drums this year.
It will be a couple of million watcher here)). Thumbs UP!)

Amazing. Great look and a great sound. The Drum Major takes his art form to a new level. I wonder how many years it takes on the parade ground and the practice chanter to get to this level.

Wow what a cultural honor for your sister and for you.To be participate in the beautiful music of her country. 🏴
Very nice!! Amazing !!
Bravo Scots! Very nice. Such marches should be carried out every week across the UK. Instead, they see the roaring and praying Muslims in the videos, and no one of the British obviously does not mind. Remember, it is your country.
History in the making ...
A most gorgeous site! ❤❤❤❤💖💖💖💖💗💘💕.
i have to take my glasses off, I can't see any more. Wondervul
Och the swirl of the Pipes, it used to make the hair on my head stand on end. Shame I am bald now.
