Great to see you back Chris. We have much the same gear. Samantha uses an A9 with 24-70 GM2 and 70-200 GM2 whereas I’m using same camera and lens combos as you.
I have a very similar setup, except I’ve got the 50mm 1.2 GM over the 55m. I thought about getting that when I switched to Sony, but I went all the way. It’s my favorite lens. Now I want that 24mm 1.4 to have that and the 50 for tighter spaces. And for whatever reason, I don’t want the Sigma 24, which is much cheaper.
Nice Gear and Video! Interesting...also changed from the 55 (which I loved) to the 50 Zeiss. Hated it. Sold it and bought the 50 1.4 GM. Now happier then ever. You should give it a try. Even if it is expensive, it's worth it. EDIT: Saw your 50 1.4GM Video... 😀
Thanks for the video! I’m interested in the new preset pack. Will there be a video about the new collection? To get an impression and some examples in the befor and after editing? Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany 😊
Hey Chris - whats your thoughts on the A7R5, I was thinking of getting one with the Tamron 20-40. It would be my first Sony camera, I love the rear screen and the different raw image sizes - kind of gives me 60mm at 30mp on the Tamron.
Great set up Chris, cool to see what gear your using!! Would you consider swapping your 6600 for an fx30? Also do you every transfer you x100V photos to your instax during weddings?
I’d prob just skip to the FX3 but honestly I think I’m just better off with 2 extra A74’s because it gives me more backup cameras, cameras for second shooters, and they still shoot amazing 10bit 422 Never done it at weddings with the X100V. Should though.
Hi Chris, Great video! I admire your work and have been following your channel for a long time. I am mostly doing family and children portraits using my Sony a7r iii and am considering upgrading to either a used Sony a7r iv or a used Sony a7 iv that will cost about the same. What do you recommend? Why did you leave your Sony a7r iv in favour for the Sony a7 iv?
Only a few people will know what I mean but I think you'll know. The issue I have is that a lot of mirrorless lenses are SO sharp, they feel 'clinical'? I purchased the 90mm macro for headshots (tethered so they could see the shots live) but it will so clinical the clients didn't like it. The moment I switched the lens to the Sony 85mm f1.4, same pose, same everythying, they would say 'oh yes, much nicer'. This happened so much the 90mm was relegated to macro wedding shots only. I love the old Sony 85mm f1.4. The photos just don't seem so clinical compared to all other lenses in that range. Even if they bring out a new version, I'm not sure I'd upgrade. You need to buy it back ;-)
Great video! I love seeing the gear updates. I do have a question about transferring the photos and editing them on your phone... As far as I know, Sony's Imaging Edge app doesn't support RAW image transferring, so how do you keep the quality good enough to make a good edit? I tried doing that once at a wedding and the quality turned out pretty low for my standards.
i have almost the same setup as you, but for a few weeks im obsessed with 28-70 f2 + canon body, what is your opinion about this to have one body one lens (and as a backup older body with 50mm)
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer I have a 50 1.2 and had a 35 1.4 GM. But it seemed too much like 50 1.2 to me. Do you think it's a good idea to change to 24 1.4 GM? I shoot weddings. I had sigme 85 1.4 dg dn but too close for me.
So much gear. The Instax to be able to give them prints on the day is such an awesome idea. Beautiful bonus for the couples
35mmm & 85mm what a setup love!
Haha ive been magneting the dji mics to speaker mics almost every wedding. works perfectly!
If you're considering a video light for weddings, go with the Aputure 60x - it's so versatile, powerful and just perfect for wedding videography!
Yeah I bought one very nice - the app really is good as well
Love your work. It’d be great if you can get us more of the BTS of hybrid work of weddings and pre weddings.

Yeah I’d really like the 50mm 1.2 but I just don’t wanna spend the money lol and my couples definitely won’t notice
Cheers Chris

How about the A7R V? I'm thinking of adding that one in the set. For both wedding photos and real estate videos.
Great video, I use some of the same gear on my channel. Keep creating 📸
Thinking about switching to Sony from Nikon. But not sure about reinvesting in a whole new system. Did it go smoothly for you?
Yeah was easy as. Once I accepted I had to do it lol.
Hey Chris, Godox announced yesterday that the new Pro trigger is now available. Saw it on Instagram.
Oh really. Good timing lol
Thanks for the video! I’m interested in the new preset pack. Will there be a video about the new collection? To get an impression and some examples in the befor and after editing?
Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany 😊
Yep will do
Godox just launched a new xpro trigger
You should check out the Sony 50F1.2GM. I had the 55 and it was pretty good, but the 50 GM is amazing!
Yeah I’ve already done a review on it ages ago. It’s definitely better. Just not enough for me to justify the price lol
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer lol fair enough 😂
Great to here your thoughts on this. Also, would love some more Capture One styles if you still use it?
I can’t deal with capture one eh haha I can see why people use it but I just can’t

Hi Chris, what happened to the A9 and A7SIII?, just asking why the change with the (2) Sony A7IV thanks
Mostly cause the A74 covers everything I need for photo and video combined
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer thank you
Why cto gels in all lighting ? I know it adjusts for lighting conditions

Do you find the focusing with the sigma 85mm is worse with the nisi mist filter? Are you still using those filters regularly
I haven’t used it on the 85, I can’t see why it would tho. I mean maaaaybe in some situations but I think it would be fine.
I found it made focusing noticeably worse. Let me know if you try it out sometime. Cheers
Will do mate

Yeah you can transfer raws with the app no worries
the godox trigger misfiring do you reckon it has to do with the channels being used? i find it frustrating too
I don’t think so because I have done the channel scan on site etc and still has problems
i have almost the same setup as you, but for a few weeks im obsessed with 28-70 f2 + canon body, what is your opinion about this to have one body one lens (and as a backup older body with 50mm)
My regularly second shooter has that lens on the R5. I’m not a fan of it honestly.
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer could you tell more? :) im so curious!
Hey Chris, do you film the videos in 4k for weddings? if so what memory card are you using? v90?
Yeah mate 4K. You don’t need V90 but it helps. I use the Sony tough cards and i have a couple other random UHS2
@@ChrisTurnerPhotographer awesome thank you!
Any idea where to get those grips from these days mate?
Not sure eh. I got them on Amazon but it was ages ago
Why did you change the main lens 24 to 35 ? :)
I haven't fully changed it. It depends on the environment as to what I choose.
