Custom Mode dial is a life saver. I have two Sony A7IV and my second photographer (my son) has an A9 and A7iii. We have the same settings saved on Custom Mode 1. No matter who uses what camera, all the settings are the same across all the cameras. It's game changing and never do we have to worry about checking settings when we arrive at a venue. We just need to make sure we're in custom mode 1 and the settings will be perfect.
for the tracking, instead of moving the joystick, u can move and aim the camera such that the focus point is on the subject and half-press, and it will activate tracking on the subject, then u can re-compose while shutter is half pressed. No need to use the joy stick, and aim, activate focus and recompose is faster than using the joystick.
Hi magic. Thank you so much. I’m shooting my first wedding tomorrow so I’m just rewatching a few videos to prompt memory, and be sure I’m all well prepared ❤
Stupid question... On the Sony A7III it doesn't have the real time eye auto tracking like on your A7IV. So when tracking a subject you just get a double green box around the subject for tracking. But, where on the persons body is it actually acquiring the focus? I'm just curious how it works with low apertures.
Hello. How can I focus on two people in the same scene? I mean the focus point on two people. I can't do this on a7iv. I want to focus on more than one person and take sharp pictures. Thank you.
Hi, Magic!!! I'm from Brazil and I'm a wedding photographer here. Because of you and your videos I sold my Canon R6 a year ago and bought an A7IV! Thank you so much for your inspiration and videos! God bless!!!
Hi from Finland! Memory settings, never used but... as I understand it, the memory settings are saved on the memory card. I myself format the card before each shooting, settings are gone? is it so?
Nice video Magic!!! A lot of great tips. One question about WB: Do you tune the WB in each scene and set the K value manually to get constant look? Any tips how to get the right WB quickly? I used autoWB for quite sometime, but it is not reliable on Sony (heard a7r5 is bettet!) and later moved to manual K setting but it takes time to set. Thanks!!!!!❤❤❤
I usually stick to the main ones and only 'adjust' when in really weird lighting scenarios. But I don't do custom K, I just shift tint in the WB options (eg. if you set SHADE, just move joystick to the right and you'll see a little chart to shift your tint)
Oh boy, had the camera for over a year and didn't know about the min shutter speed in AP mode. I got frustrated before because i was getting shutter speeds of 1/30 at iso 100 in AP and auto iso modes
Hi Magic, I was watching a video by Benj Haisch and he mentioned you, specifically a video that you did on shooting in apsc crop mode and using DNG files. Can you point me to that video please?
A question on focus please. Once you have acquired focus with tracking and green square has stuck to eye, can you then full press shutter multiple times for multiple shots as needed without losing tracking point? Tracking point is only changed on next half press? Thanks
hello sir ....i am form india....i am your big fan....i like your all video....and i watch all time your video....i am also wedding Photographer and sony user...❤ also i love your teching style
I mean there’s fast sandisk cards. Sandisk is my number one brand of sd cards. Make sure you get a v90. Not saying the Sonys aren’t worth it but sandisk makes great sd cards. Mine read and write at about 250-270 MBps sustained. They ain’t no slouch
Great tips throughout this video. Just a quick question, about seeing your exposure in real time, I totally agree. On the other hand, I often get fooled because I leave my A7IV in sunny mode for the screen. And once the pictures are on my computer, I find that they are under exposed. Do you have an opinion on this or an advice ?

for wedding video in a church you use auto or manual focus?
May I have a question. What is the highest ISO you ever used with Sony 7R5 camera? At 12800 ISO, this camera produces lot of noise! Thanks,
Does Sony A7 still good for 2024? Since it have 5 fps continuous shoot over Sony a6000 that had 11fps continuous shoot

What picture profile do you recommend using for a wedding?
Hi thank you for the video and great info. Quick question what size memory card do you recommend to get for shooting weddings? Thank you
I like your video.Thanks.
Thanks so much!
Why to me it appears a big square like full body focus instead of eye/face tracking on this mode??
Curious to know how often losing data occurs with Sony. Also why in RAW. Thanks.

Correct!
I was waiting for an advice about using raw and its color style and white balance... But he didn't mention it
Thanks for the video ! Don't you use your A9 II any more ?
Hey - I actually do not. Also - I only had them on loan, so it wasn't mine. Currently shooting 2x A7IV.

Oh yes for sure there are! In the video I meant the particular 95mb/s ones, that everyone seems to have tons of :)
Magic please, my 2019 iMac won't read my new Sony Tough SDXC UHS-II cards, which Mac do you use to edit your photos? Aid! thanks a lot!
Oh that’s interesting - how about if you connect camera to your computer to download the files?
I use MacBook M1 Max
