- MTV special on the appearance of Morrissey at the Finsbury Festival 1992.The special includes a brief backstage interview with Morrissey about his announcement that he had just sold out the Hollywood Bowl and clips of Morrissey on stage playing "You're the One For Me Fatty". MTV Europe (august 1992)
it’s very sweet to see him so excited about his achievements.
He looked pissed off didn't he?..the band knew as they followed him off straight away!
When performers are blamed for who shows up.
So is Sergio Aguero a racist coz he draped the Argentina flag around himself when City won the league???
Yes.
@@mustardegg2what?! 🤣
@@TheMrmatthewparker I said my piece.
@@mustardegg2 yeh and its a dumb piece
@@TheMrmatthewparker how dare you.
It upsets me to see this
It was skinheads to the left of stage and flower people to the right. Obviously it was going to go bad. I think he got hit in the head with a small swede and that was the end for him. Shame really.
Why did they do this to Morrissey? Morrissey is so great. Was it fans of the Madness band?

No it was wankers...
They objected to an earlier song..glamorous glue, and the words “ London is dead” which these days it clearly is.. they dint like a prophet or anybody intelligent in London, who isn’t from London.. hope this helps..xx
swine before pearls/pearls before swine
I was born in London, and you're absolutely right. Haven't been back in years. Absolute shithole.
Because of Tory austerity. Fact. 😁👍
I was there, around this time NF blokes turned up.
Ooh would be a dream!!...maybe there, in the archive of UK MTV 's they still have...who knows?!!
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT : ""Does no one have friends or relatives working in high places of MTV ???!!""
;))
HatedForLoving3 😣😂
Thanx a lot for uploading this! I adore!!!
The NME were out for blood, and they got it
My brother saw Madness in Edinburgh (i think) around this same period. There was a massive fight in the venue between opposing football firms, just before the gig. I love Madness but they attract more than their fair share of wankers.
What ?
Pearls before swine.
He had no chance that day, there was guys wearing Morrissey is a Wanker T-Shirts
Someone threw stuff at Morrissey? I wonder why the crowd didn't just straight up attack who was throwing stuff?
I don't think most people were really enjoying it
2:12 is that ant from ant and dec on the bottom right hand corner ?!
😳🤓
That was the gig where he draped himself with a Union Jack. This move from someone who wrote a song called "Bengali in platforms" whose chorus says "shelve your Western plans and understand 'cause life is hard enough when you belong here"...
The song is about how the difficulties of integration you are reaching
Meltdown
Great footage! Is there any footage of flowered up?
Flowered up was awesome live in 1992 loved the dancing flower lol :D
'England for the English' with the union Jack..
unfortunately it may be hard to see the meaning of that song if you're hearing it for the first time and are already slightly pissed off
I loved The Smiths, but by this point the arse-holification of Morrissey was complete. The troubled young man of extraordinary poetry, wit and sensitivity had been driven mad by his own success.
welll ..that's just like your opinion, man 🙈😋🤣
@@prettyprrrrettaygood No; it’s Kamala Harris’s opinion. I’m channeling her.
Ah the old “I like the smiths but….” Line.
You just don’t get it m8
What exactly ?
so what if he aligns himself to far-right causes
If you look at Britain first and their policies its like a centre left party. Vegetarianism, veteran welfare, animal welfare and the big one the Liberal left crucify them for is their opposition to Sharia law!!! I'm opposed to it too!!! Moz has the backbone to say what 99% are thinking anyway. Top guy.
So you'd prefer a Nazi Germany style world?
@@firstroundboxing1138
It mightn't be German, but I really thought it already had become such
@@firstroundboxing1138 YES...no crime, no bankers exploiting the nation.
@@firstroundboxing1138 Yes, very much so to this world we currently have.
