I came to Andy's channel by mistake and now I just can't stop watching his great videos. His voice does have a hypnotic calming effect. And his cooking is adventurous for the equipment he has most people do t even do these meals in a full kitchen. Hello has inspired me to start camping again, years ago I did the duke of Edinburgh scheme and we used to use the old mk10 bright orange tents that weighed a lot. Keep up the great videos Andy ❤

I don't like camping and I've tried to like camping. But I like these videos because Andy is having so much fun camping. He's able to relax which I find to be relaxing. So I like watching a person camp that enjoys camping. I know it sounds weird but watching camping is completely different than camping.

Northern Ontario Canada here. We use these tents extensively on the lake in the winter. Most people use portable propane heaters in these tents. I have an insulated one and recently have been running a small wood stove. Propane produces a lot of moisture which then freezes on the walls of the tent. Wood stoves or the portable diesel air heaters are the way to go. Cheers Andy, great vid as always!

Hey Andy! Glad to see a new video. I think the reason you can see through the seams is because it's not important when the lake is frozen and it's too cold to rain. And a rain fly would be nice on dry land in the summer 😅 camp on , old chap.

As a Canadian who’s done his fair share of ice fishing in cold weather, -25/30 degrees ( in the prairies). Add the wind and it gets extremely cold. These tents are designed more so to protect one from the wind which is your real enemy on the ice. Having an interior heater is a nice luxury.

I’m sorry you have Fibromyalgia, I do too, I’m finally getting old enough that I can tell people I’ve retired, when I was younger I developed fibro literally out of no where. Turns out it was most likely caused by statin cholesterol medication, just like dementia the medical community wants to blame everything but themselves. I love watching nomad and camping videos, maybe one day I will be able to camp again, my husband is handicapped which he always has been, it wasn’t ever a problem because what he can’t do, I can… or could. Poor guy really got the short end of the stick, I was supposed to be his help mate, I adore him, but he’s done so much for me instead. I am finding some help from magnesium glycinate 400-800 mg at bedtime, really helps with restless leg syndrome, and I fall asleep a little easier too. I just learned today about B1, thiamine so I am looking into adding that to my supplements. Best wishes fibro warrior!

@@valerief1231 look into benfo-thiamine instead, better absorption in the body. Against to much pain I use cbd + thc. Let nature and good organic food be our healing. If moving like walking or yoga is too much, look into Qigong (I like Holden-7 minutes of magic etc. best.) Nature is southing like music. Camping, or just lying under the canopy..and listen to the wind is the best gift to ourselves. That's why we love these videos so much. And the voice ofcourse. Modern take on an old favourite. When I was a kid paraffin heaters, a bit like that, were everywhere. And the pump up light versions. We used them in the house. In the outdoor toilet. Night fishing. Most places you wanted heat. The old style had feet on the top. Like a gas stove. And were effective cookers. We never drained them. Just wedge them in the car and go. Spent many a night cuddling one on the Admiralty Pier Dover. Supposedly Cod fishing. Mostly feeding the fish. The wick on that new one is weird. And of course, we used Esso blue. Otherwise the smoke got in your eyes.

Hello Andy😊. If you kept this tent, you can use clear nail polish on the seams and other areas to seal. You'll probably have to do the seams and such with 2 coats and it should be good. I have done this myself and it has worked. Just keep the polish in your camping gear in case you need it for other things.

I definitely love the idea of a tent like this. I'm of an age now that being able to stand up in me tent is invaluable, and most 2/3 man pop-ups or domes aren't even close to tall enough. When you get home pop up the tent in your garage or covered car port then step into it with a tube of seam sealant and daub where you see light. Presto! waterproof! It's always a good idea to keep a tube handy when tent camping anyway. Those tents are used a lot up here in Alaska. You're going to pop it up anyway for drying. Put that time to good use. Then take it out again when it's raining then make a final review. Another good video. Seeya next week.

I have been heating my 2 bed house with paraffin heaters for the past 2 years. Here in Northern Ireland houses are still heated with paraffin central heating so its pretty cheap. Ive a few classic ones but my chinese heater will put you out its so hot. Ive saved a fortune these past 2 years and im never cold the average cost £10 a week. Even in the depths of winter. You just need carbon monoxide detectors and not minding refilling them. Well done for highlighting these amazing heaters.

I have a Coleman instant up 5 dome tent. It is the best tent I've ever had. loads of room and survived heavy storms (with added 8" pegs) and stitched ground sheet kept out flooding. Easy to put up and down. Now I am an old fart, camping is no hassle with space to get my boots on quickly to go the loo. ❤Love these brilliant videos!

Saw a video with a cool idea for heating a tent. Basically a section of metal tube bent into a z-shape with a flat bit on one end to act as a stand. He placed it outside the tent with just the upper horizontal poking into the tent and a wood fire around the vertical. In theory, convection sucks in cold air at the bottom and throws heated air into the tent, avoiding the problem of water from the fire condensing inside, or risking monoxide poisoning.

I have the same ice fishing shelter but mine is made by Nordic and it is insulated. I use it for hot tenting with a big buddy propane heater. Works great and very fast set up. The insulated version really blocks the wind and holds the heat. Great video!

Andy, good to see you again. Love the Mexican food you prepared. In the Texas-Mexican border towns, we call your "taquitos" "flautas" when the tortilla is wrapped and fried the way you did. We line them up next to each other and pour on a sauce, sour cream, and sometimes avocado. As for the chorizo on huevo, in my family, we sometimes add fried potato that has been cut down into small cubes. So we would start with the potato until it's ready, then we add the chorizo until it begins to get a little fried and release some oils, and finally, add the eggs. Then we stir everything until it's set. Put it on some tortillas and you got some great breakfast tacos. I like the heater unit you used; especially that you can cook with it too. I am sure glad you got a break from the rain on this trip, you deserve it. P.S. Thanks for the notice on Simon. It is good to know he is taking a break. I think everyone should take one from time to time. Its hard work, what you do with these videos.

Andy mate, just a suggestion, why don't you, mark, Simon and anyone else you can think of get together and build an authentic American style log cabin, it would be amazing spread over a couple of months, any thoughts 🤘

@peterskarratts1834 Great idea! Would love to see that
Again, just a thought building on yours....Could do it all in a couple months. Or, could do it a bit at a time over 12 months, have it as a long running 3 min section at the end of every normal video showing how it's coming along. Then at the end could hold a special event for it with something on a spit and bbq etc as a special episode. Then could be rented out as a special weekend getaway for outdoors people (maybe some future vids in that too)

Hello Sir, really LOVE your videos!! In fact, I think I may have even purchased the same exact ice fishing shelter off of eBay after watching Steve Wallis on one of his camping videos use a portable air conditioning system to keep it cool on the hot summer heat. The only problem was after getting what I thought was a good deal like yourself, I noticed the same imperfections you did in your video, which took all the wind out of my sails. I don’t know if any of them can be repaired using a coating material which could be applied, in which case I might just donate it to a homeless person so they have a better roof over their head until finding a way off the streets. But I really appreciate all the hard work you do making these videos. Keep putting them out there and making all of us proud. 😇

That is the problem with ice fishing shacks, they are made for cold weather with snow and are not waterproof. If used as designed, there should be no problem with that shelter. The food looked so good. Thanks for sharing your night out. :) :)
