Oh the Star Gazing quilt just sings to me! love the colors and design. Sometimes a quilt can do that, I also love the idea and the beautiful retirement quilt. What a sweet memory to give your co-workers.All the quilts today are lovely and Sherri you got a lot done yourself. Love the colors you have picked for your winter quilt.
I love finishing friday! ❤ Thank you for sharing our projects!
EVERYTHING is so BEAUTIFUL! I love the “Dresden Village!” The fun part of that is you can make it so different depending on fabrics, embellishments, & imagination. It’s fabulous!🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

Good morning from Colorado Springs! Enjoy your weekend!
You too!
When l gift cotton aprons to others,l always mention that they will need to iron after washing for a few times until fabric softens up 😊 especially if dried in the dryer. Loved all the submissions and the totes were great!!
Great tip!
Hello Sherri, just a moment as I run and get my cup of tea! Video just arrived and I’ve overslept. Love Fridays ,,,, seeing all the wonderful finishes.
Good morning!
Beautiful quilts everyone! Sheri, I love how your FQS mystery star medallion is coming out! I really want to make this, but I have so many projects at the out and taking up space stage, I just can’t start another. I did want to tell you that Carol Doak has a private FB group you can join with a block a month quilt along starting this month plus more free FPP patterns that coordinate with her 50 states blocks. I don’t need another sew along but the QAL is only one block a month and FPP is on my list to try so I am going to jump in as soon as I get my latest large quilt off my design wall and table. I have to have this one laid out as I sew to keep it straight, so it is taking up a LOT of space! It is a modified version of a free Robert Kaufman pattern called Shimmering Snowflake.
Thanks for the info on the FPP. I’m itching to get that MS star out and working on it.
Great video Sheri. So far so good on no-buy July. It’s hot here too in
Wisconsin. Have a good weekend!
Thank you! You too!
Enjoyed the video and seeing what everyone has recently finished!
Oh my goodness gracious, that Shark pincushion is so darn cute!!! I didn't think I needed another pincushion. Nope, I definitely need this cutey! I agree, I think it would make a cute gift for fellow quilt retreat attendees.
"No Buy July" weekly report ... I did not buy any fabric to add to my stash. I've only been quilting since August and I will admit it's already hard to resist buying what I see even if it doesn't have a project attached yet!
However, my local quilt shop started a Fat Quarter Club which I enrolled in last month. I just received the bundle which included a suggested pattern and a free goodie (this month it is a tape measure). And then I had a thought ... wouldn't it be neat to support this neat program that the shop is offering by working on the Fat Quarter Club project during their weekly Open Sewing days? When the flimsy is finished, I could ask one of the employees to take a photo to post on their Facebook site. So .. I had to buy 2 1/2 yds that are strictly for this project.
So technically I purchased fabric this week ... but only for a project I will begin next Friday.
Oh ... if it is not inappropriate .. please remind listeners that when making in-person purchases at our small shops, it would really help the shops if we pay by cash or check. I stopped paying by cash/check during COVID but was recently reminded that the shops are charged 4%-6% fee when we use our ATM cards or credit cards. That fee adds up!
True, but I will point out that the small quilt shops rarely have fabric and notions on sale. So I think it averages out. I’ve been trying to support my LQS more by taking classes and buying my parts and equipment there.
