I agree with Scott, humans still treat them like monsters even though they saved the world how many times, the X-men along with every mutant on earth would easily crush humanity if Charles hadn't taught them compassion and wisdom, and a sense of humanity.
Look I'm not that into superheroes but when I saw this clip in isolation my blood boiled for the dude. I knew shit would hit the fan when they asked a freaking x-men to take off his sunglasses, when he is known for needing them for other people's protection.
I said this in another comment, but it seems like the animated series is starting to go into the new X-Men era with the annihilation of the mutant island. And I can’t help but to see some reflections of that with the fact that it was revealed that Emma Frost was on the island and she was one of the only survivors well rogue is also a survivor as well. Also, the relationship between Scott and Jean seems to be getting quite heated after the events of him being married to her clone and having a baby what are. Also, in the car book, another reason why they release it was stream was because Jean was still riding off the highs of being the Phoenix, and it seems like she’s doing that in the cartoon as well. So considering his mental state, and the fact that the genocide on the main island has happened, and Emma will probably be one of the only survivors with her secondary mutation kicking in, she’ll probably right back to the school and cyclops, and her are going to start talking and start getting close and then we’re going to see the infamous behind the back affair that doesn’t end well. Also, considering the speed of the show and how fast are going, we may also see super radical cyclops as well from things like the Messiah story arc where he starts to go down a more magneto route. Also, we might see the introduction of Cassandra Nova Xavier’s maternal twin. (If you want to know more about that you’ll have to look it up. It’s too difficult for me to explain.🤣👍)
As much as I believe Scott could have worded that better, I can’t help but admit he is right. Jean/ Madelyn had some feelings to Nathan being human fearing for his life in their world. Sure wanting to know him outside of being a hero helps, doesn’t help when their are people who think breaking a mutant’s window and laughing when told they’d be charged for damaged would put humanity one notch higher on the food chain.
Can’t blame the guy because holy hell humanity in marvel is so unbelievable ungrateful to the people who literally throw their lives away to save them and all they get is hate and discrimination
All he wanted to do was make a speech to the kids like captain America but instead became typical Scott when the questions weren’t about how to tie your shoe
1:16, On one hand, there’s Scott lambasting humanity for the shallowness of their media and on the other side is Homelander’s complaints over humans not giving him respect and instead treating him as a commodity. Both call out humanity for being ungrateful and ignorant to their struggles, even coming off as a threat to normal people to not test their patience. (Edit) The main difference between them is Scott has earned respect through genuine acts of heroism, while Homelander plays a role to be as famous as possible to compensate for his insecurities.
You really trying to compare the two? Scott says that because in spite of being part of a marginalized group, he still tries to help the people who hate them. Homelander is a fucking asshole and says people are ungrateful because he is an asshole. The extent of his victim hood is the corporation that backs him.
Homelander doesn't do shit is the thing, he bitches and moans about people being "ungrateful" but he doesn't fucking DO ANYTHING to earn gratitude. He just struts around in his silly little costume like some kind of faux-patriotic peacock and expects everyone to drop to their knees and kiss his boots simply for existing. Scott on the other hand has actually saved the world multiple times and hasn't gotten so much as a "thank you", hell often times people just end up hating mutants even MORE afterwards. But they still do it, because it's the right thing to do. "Protect a world that hates and fears them" it's their whole thing. The X-Men do so much for humanity and humanity gives them nothing but shit for it. Scott's allowed to finally call them out on it, especially while he's already got a lot going on and can't maintain the energy to keep his "customer service voice" on any longer.
@@ignisterzone5399That’s one of the biggest distinctions between the two. Cyclops has earned gratitude he may never receive, he and his team have been genuinely heroic, while Homelander just plays the role of a hero to get validation he believes he deserves for all he’s suffered as a child and has to put up with as an adult from humans. Both of them have suffered, but one became a better person in spite of it while the other was completely engulfed by this trauma and turned into a monster. Scott also legitimately about his species while Homelander only cares about his as far as they serve his ends or feed his ego.
Scott didn't actually lie to the interviewer, he just didn't give full details. Him and Jean don't have kids, but he does have 1 with Madeline. So technically he was still being completely honest during this entire interview, and the way he lost it during the questioning is completely valid considering everything he's gone/going through and lost. He's not just being honest throughout the entire interview, but completely truthful in how much the X-Men have done for the world and how much they still have to prove to the world that they themselves are people would make anyone angry after suffering so much as Scott has especially lately in the last few episodes.
The guy had to send his newborn son to the future after he was infected with a techno-organic virus from Mr. Sinister, while also finding out that Jean was cloned. I don't blame him for losing his cool.

@@KurohigeDTeach-yy3yk Just because something makes sense does not make it right. Marginalized groups are always unfairly held to a higher standards. On MLK Day, I saw racists trying to discredit him for cheating on his wife. That was THIS year. The truth is, this interview was done in good faith, and trying to shed a better light on mutants...Trish had no idea about losing Nathan. Yes, Scott's frustrations is 100% understandable, BUT someone who has been trying to be murdered for who they are since they were 16 should have known not to be interviewed when he let that emotional. Trish Tilby may have been trying to shine a positive light on mutants, but any bigots who saw a live broadcast now get an excuse. "No comment," is a powerful phrase.

so, 2 things here: 1) "i'm giving you a chance to show you're just like normal people, why are you lying?" kinda just answered your own question there, didn't you? 2) are we just not going to talk about Jean's "Marvel Girl" codename being acknowledged? that's rarer than an eclipse!
@@tuckerbowen4626 I was mainly just wondering what it was before that. Jean Grey is a good name but so is anonymity. But I also get why Marvel Girl didn’t stick considering there’s also captain marvel

I agree with Scott, humans still treat them like monsters even though they saved the world how many times, the X-men along with every mutant on earth would easily crush humanity if Charles hadn't taught them compassion and wisdom, and a sense of humanity.
Give a man a rest he lost a child and wife and has to live with Jubilee 24/7.
What is wrong with jubilee???
@@tomasgonzalezaspe599 She is both annoying and boring. There is a reason why she in the good teams post 90s.
Look I'm not that into superheroes but when I saw this clip in isolation my blood boiled for the dude. I knew shit would hit the fan when they asked a freaking x-men to take off his sunglasses, when he is known for needing them for other people's protection.
I like how the camera filter makes it look more like the orginal show nice detail!🥰
Heck yeah air that speech. The humans need to hear the truth.
That speech summarized what he has become in the recently the comics.
FORESHADOWING IS FUN!
Waiting for the inevitable “Corruption Arc” for Cyclops like in Avengers v X-Men.
I would say that my son is meeting a family friend for his medicine

Shout out to the cameraman for leaking this behind the scenes footage on UA-cam
Yep, He just about had it with "ningens". 👹
He’s going through something right now.
Wonder if Scott's about to enter his Perc Angle arc after this episode
Cyclops was Right!
Came here to say this
As much as I believe Scott could have worded that better, I can’t help but admit he is right.
He is honest.
They should've let Beast do all the talking.
I'm starting to see some red and black in your future, Mr. Summers.
Can’t blame the guy because holy hell humanity in marvel is so unbelievable ungrateful to the people who literally throw their lives away to save them and all they get is hate and discrimination
#CyclopsWasRight
1:33 - Fox's X-Men universe and mutant only universes in a nutshell.
All he wanted to do was make a speech to the kids like captain America but instead became typical Scott when the questions weren’t about how to tie your shoe
i felt the old magneto in scotts speech and im here for it
Cyclops was right
He’s gone full Rightclops
This is why you shouldn't ask too many questions
It's understandable that Scott was losing it like this also because he had to give up his son.
1:32 yeah Scott! You tell him!
Whoaahhhhh cyclops sounding like magneto >_>
1:16, On one hand, there’s Scott lambasting humanity for the shallowness of their media and on the other side is Homelander’s complaints over humans not giving him respect and instead treating him as a commodity.
Both call out humanity for being ungrateful and ignorant to their struggles, even coming off as a threat to normal people to not test their patience.
(Edit)
The main difference between them is Scott has earned respect through genuine acts of heroism, while Homelander plays a role to be as famous as possible to compensate for his insecurities.
You really trying to compare the two?
Scott says that because in spite of being part of a marginalized group, he still tries to help the people who hate them.
Homelander is a fucking asshole and says people are ungrateful because he is an asshole. The extent of his victim hood is the corporation that backs him.
Scott lives in a world that’s wants him to go away even thought he helps them and has lost his family. What’s Homelander’s excuse?
@@callmev3531 not the biggest difference.
If Madeline is a clone of Jean, wouldn’t they both have the same DNA? Also wouldn’t that make Jean also Nathan’s mother?
@@GavinLeBlanc Depends. If your mom has an identical twin, does that make your aunt also your mother?
Goated
My guy get personal too quick, and too much.
The guy had to send his newborn son to the future after he was infected with a techno-organic virus from Mr. Sinister, while also finding out that Jean was cloned. I don't blame him for losing his cool.
He's a mutant and his kind are constantly discriminated against despite all the times he's fought for humanity and equality. He's constantly losing those that are dear to him and that's the only response you have? You don't know half of it...
@@sebastianemond5313 there is also a phrase he could have used, "no comment"

Jerry Lundergaard: "Ma'am, I answered your question! I-I answered the darn-- I'm cooperating here! And there's no, uh... We-We're doing all we can."
@@KurohigeDTeach-yy3yk Just because something makes sense does not make it right.
You are correct, mutants are discriminated against in the Marvel universe, and should not have to be held to higher standard...but that is not how the world works.
Arthur fleck joker vibes anyone?
Farrakhan level speech
I actually agree to Scott. The pauper people didn't even be grateful that the X-Men did anything to save people. But instead the chump FOH (Friends Of Humanity) keep on torturing them. It's clear this tiny head people didn't have any understandings at all. Pretty sad so much.
Wow, but tell us how you really feel, Scott...
Well said Scott 😊
Feel just awful for Scott, lost his son and Doesn’t know who his wife really is.
so, 2 things here:
1) "i'm giving you a chance to show you're just like normal people, why are you lying?" kinda just answered your own question there, didn't you?
2) are we just not going to talk about Jean's "Marvel Girl" codename being acknowledged? that's rarer than an eclipse!
Oh so thaaaats her superhero name.

He’s right though. Humans are evil. Ungrateful. Terrible. The humans should be thankful that the mutants aren’t as evil as them cause as shown multiple times, in an all out war between humans and mutants, humans don’t stand a chance
Are you saying all humans are evil i see cyclops being a bigot blaming all humans for the actions of a few
I don't agree with Cyclops, but the reporter, claiming to want to understand his humanity, should've known that for almost any father's humanity, losing a child is anguish. It hurts! And there may be a reason he doesn't want to discuss it. Putting someone on some glorified pedestal to exoticize what you THINK their humanity and respecting what it means for them to try existing as humans are not the same thing.
@@colingibson1998 it’s not a few. Every human acts like that. Humans can barely tolerate each other so imagine being a mutant or alien. All humans are evil
