- You guys asked for it last year, and I dropped the ball... but we're doin it this year! Trash or Pass: Frog Edition and first up is TOAD THUMPER Frogs! First impressions weren't great... but they got so much better!
I promise y'all, there is a lot of content coming. I gotta slow down on the fishing and focus on putting out everything that I have filmed already! I'm not gonna slow down on fishing though, that was a joke.

I prefer scum frogs because they are soft and the body seems to move out of the way of the hooks the best. With Spro I often boil them for a minute to soften the plastic. Thank you for sharing your time and thoughts.
I’m on their pro staff. If you ever have issues I would email them. I have seen where putting rattle in that frog helps. Keep it down when they blow up on it. I haven’t had to bend the hooks out yet. But good video I’m glad you kept giving it a chance. They are super durable
I just got one of these that was part of a gift box set from Fish and Game magazine. I too thought the hook seemed a bit recessed for a good hook up. I attempted to bend one side of the hook, but the tip of it broke off under pretty minimal effort.

About 2 hours ago, I was in my local Walmart browsing the fishing section, like I always do when I go to Walmart and I came across the Toad Thumpers. Thought to myself…“Hmmmm, never heard of these guys. I wonder if there’s a review on UA-cam for them?” So, I left the Toad Thumper hanging until I could find a video review and watch it. What are the chances that I come across your UA-cam Channel after doing a search for the Thumpers? Pretty damn high!!! So, I watched your video and it helped me make a decision even though this was based off your opinion and it’s up to me to make the final decision. Much respect to you for making these videos and giving us your thoughts and opinions. Most folks tell you what you want to hear. I respect the other folks who are honest and share what they feel. So, with all that said….I just had to Sub because I wanna see more Trash or Pass!! 👍👍

It's wild to hear you had a bad experience with them. In another video, I saw a random guy talking about using one lately and had a really good land ratio with his. He talked about how soft they were, and the hook angle was perfect.
I had the complete opposite experience with those frogs. Hooked my first 4 or 5 fish and built tons of confidence in them. Going to buy more for sure. I’m also fishing from a kayak and set the hook at a little higher angle then you. But yeah love ‘em! But my first choice is the scum frog launch series
Do you boil your frogs before you use them? I know you said right out of the box but boiling does seem to help with increasing hook set.
Pretty much the same experience i had with the poppin perch. Bending the hooks are a must. Maybe boiling would work too. Spro has been my best performer but it did start taking on water fairly quickly. Good stuff
Dude, a frog taking on water after 1-2 casts angers me so much 😂 but Scum Frogs really spoiled me when it comes to that.
The body on these frogs are soft, I think the hooks being so flush, just didn’t give enough clearance? But I’ve never boiled a frog either lol. I’m more prone to use my Tyrant like a voodoo doll trying to find the sweet spot for balance with an unweighted beast hook 🤣
@@OklahomasWorstAngler never tried a scum but I was paroosing their website after this video. Super reasonably priced. Still want to see that first tyrant fish.

I had 3 sent to me and I wasn't happy with them at all. I had same problem with hooksets. I guess I will have to bend my hooks up. I just like to be able to take a bait out of the package and go. I don't want to do surgery on it before I fish it.

Scum frog and Bobby’s perfect frog are my absolute go to!! But if we’re talking chuck and wind… that horny toad is one of THE BEST!

The only frog I have fished worse than this one is the Googan Filthy "Eat Me" Frog which is absolute over-hyped crap. Outside of the Frogs I bought from Hendrix Fishing the best frog I have fished remains the original scum frog and shockingly the live target Scott Martin Frog.

It basically says that I won your "giveaway" roughly 5 months ago and you still haven't sent me anything besides excuses.
