did he really? He had Clark convinced that the world will hate him just for being different. He died to prove that point and he was VERY wrong. Sure he was distrusted at first but the world quickly came around. Seems less like love and more like shame. Maybe its my pessimistic perspective on the world but thats how I read that relationship.

Wow there is none of the tension of the Snyder version in this scene. It's so rushed and you don't get any involvement of the ship's computer repeatedly advising against their plan.
They just waltzed in, did their thing, created a forced sense of urgency. It’s completely incoherent and reminds me of why I despised this movie so much.
Yeah, this is just so straightforward and simplistic... In the Synder version, the ship's AI constantly saying the action is irreversible and that they recommend not doing it adds so much depth and seriousness to the scene, the AI showing Victor their calculations of the future where Superman goes full blown evil and then going completely dark after saying "the future has taken root in the present". OOF. That phrase sealed it for me in that scene. That's when we know for a fact they are all fucked and the events are inevitable.

@@dogestranding5047 Director's cuts are often much longer than the original films. More scenes were added to better fit Snyder's creative vision of how he wanted the film to turn out. With that being said, a time window generally isn't in a part of the equation and the director has free range.

Infinity stones were established as first things that came to be after the big bang, the only things that are left from previous universe. They control parts of the universe's power, that they are named after. Didnt have to check it, i remember it from movies. Mother boxes i know only the thing i mentioned + appareantly they can ressurect people. They were badly established. Im actually am more fan of DC comics, but man, if you know anything about the movies, you know marvel is doing a good job, and justice league finally fucked shit up for DC. Its like that because the film was rushed having to be reshot so many fuckin times, while snyders version was finished and nicely detailed
They have no excuses like "his CGI was hard to do, his body was too complex" this movie had a budget of 300 million! And transformers 2007 did CGI better then this movie, and it only has a budget of 147 million, Ironman, a movie that came out in 2008, had a budget that was less then transformers, 140 million, but the suit up scenes looked real as hell, and they were all CGI!

@@NoNameDaGuy CGI is less about money than it is about time. Because of the reshoots, the artists that work at the visual studios would have to reanimate everything over again, this time with less time. Even just rendering the damn thing takes hours (sometimes over a day) much less having to reanimate it, match it with the new lighting conditions, etc etc. It's not a problem you can just throw money at, it's man power and time.
I'm 3 hours into the Snyder Cut and haven't been bored once. This is the first time I have ever watched a movie this long.

But as BVS revealed, a Kryptonian body on Earth doesn't actually decay. Zod's body was in the same state he died in two years later. It wasn't decomposing or breaking down. They couldn't even cut it because was still highly durable.

This scene hits differently now.
The addition of the dialogue Superman says to Batman that Joss Whedon added where he says "Do you bleed" (a reference to BvS when Batman told that to Superman) was a terrible addition to the dialogue and doesn't make sense since Superman is supposed to be confused of who he is and what's going on.
So glad we now have the Snyder cut. What an amazing film. I'm about to watch it a second time.

Love how people are sugercoating the same scenes that were criticized in the Whedon Cut. For example, one comment says that this movie is a video game for reviving Superman with a health box. Now the same scene is being praised when it's used exactly the same way in Snyder's version. People overrate the Snyder cut so much. It's good. But it still had tons of weak points. 6/10 at best

Yeah... the scene really does feel different.
I mean, here, it feels like they're doing it just to complete the team with this magical Rubix cube.
In the 2021 cut, they delve more into the mother boxes importance. Superman's death was the key to "waking" them up and now they're the key to "waking" him up. They know he's the only one who can take down Steppenwolf, they know turning the box on will alert Steppenwolf of it's location and thus kickstarting the end of the world, and they still don't even know if the resurrection will even work... but it's that or wait for death.
The two scenes are cut from the same cloth, but theatrical cut doesn't explain why the resurrection is needed other than, "... Oh shit, we forgot about superman!"
In the Whedon cut the league actually addresses the ethical dilemma that raising a man from the dead would bring. Also the boxes waking up because superman died never made sense since they were on earth before he was even born. In the theatrical cut they at least try to say that they've awaken because the world has fallen into disarray and gotten "darker" after Superman's death and that they are vulnerable to an invasion. Both version are an incredible display on how editing and little changes to dialogue can make things feel very different.

I love how the Snyder Cut added a HUGE amount of suspense after Victor had that Injustice nightmare, said no which had Flash ask “Go?” then have Barry run, break his rule by turning back time a bit to touch the motherbox and leaving us worried that Barry doomed the world! All with a better and more suspenseful score, too.

Agreed. But I don't understand why it's completely changed from the ending given to us in BvS. We see the dirt rising as if Supes is about to blast off, so you would think we would start JL with him alive/blasting off from the end of BvS.
The Comedy Bros Even Henry Cavill found it ridiculous that Superman wasn’t included on any of the marketing material leading up to the release of the movie. He was on the press tour with the rest of the cast and everything. He even said, “Of course, if I’m on the press tour I’m in the movie.”

is not... team was needed to defeat steppenwolf. is true, superman solo can defeat him, but for him will be impossible to do that and stop the unity at the same time, plus there are a lot of parademos, leading to the destruction of mankind and the ultimate failure of superman.... so the whole team was needed in the end... but the problem is that the movie tells us all this in a bad form, so the steppenwolf invasion seems to be lesser dangerous as the kryptonian one, but in fact is much more dangerous. is a failure of the script or the film by istelf!
Superman used to be way more powerful than other characters, but more recently like in the New 52 it's much closer to parity. Superman is still probably the most powerful or near the top (depending on whether characters like Martian Manhunter or Dr. Fate are included), but it's not as absurdly lopsided as it used to be.
@Gonçalo Ferreira The main DC downgrade I'm a bit irritated about is with The Flash, but he's supposed to be very inexperienced and still figuring the superhero gig out at this point. But he needs to start shaping up into one of the top tier DC superheroes instead of being the speedy (and clumsy) court jester of the JL. I am assuming now that they're planning to give him his own movie he'll start impressing quite a bit more.

Erza's Flash just didn't fit this movie. It just didn't fit. Like Beebo in Crisis on Infinite Earth's. I love the Legends and would kill for Beebo but him being in the Crisis event just after Oliver died, it just didn't feel right. It was a Legends episode but still, it wasn't really much good.

The snyder cut introduced tension into this scene ..... Cyborg hesitated when he saw the nightmare future.... At least they showed us that there were consequences..... The theatrical cut just said that superman was back so everyone won.
Despite Whedon's effort to make this movie more hopeful, he actually made this scene more cynical than Snyder's version due to the fact that Whedon chose to use foreboding music during this scene while Snyder used uplifting music.

I love this scene too. Flash's running style is in its odd infancy, like a new baby learning to walk -- later to be corrected in the future sequels. His running is obviously under control when Barry visits Bruce in the "Lois" time travel sequence (Dawn of Justice).

I love how Snyder portrays Superman as the ultimate Jesus metaphor. He came to earth as a baby boy to give hope to mankind, he died paying for mankind’s sins (one could assume Lex’s creation of Doomsday is symbolic of that) and he is resurrected.
It’s nice to revisit these scenes with different context that actually makes sense. Like that arbitrary “you need to touch the thing the moment it touches the liquid thing” which didn’t even exist and makes no sense since in this you don’t even know that Steppenwolf can see the boxes when they’re activated.

I liked the movie, but his return was so anticlimactic and uninspiring. Complete opposite to his introduction in MOS (Flight scene) I was hoping they woudn't use the mother box beacuse at the end BVS we see his fukin grave start to levitate! Hinting that he would have slowly come back to life without using apokolips technology. I expected his return to be way more epic and fantastical. I thought they would refference the Kodex from MOS. JL just felt so inconsistant

Is it bad that I like “Spark of the Flash”? Despite the soundtrack being generic and forgettable, this is one of the few tracks that actually manages to be well.... good. Hell, it’s kinda well used here and when Flash fights Supes (Flash’s reaction and the score is what helps make the scene kinda funny). I wouldn’t mind if this motif (Remember, it’s not his theme, but a starting point for a theme) was revisited for Flashpoint (Or whatever that movie turns out to be), and then evolved into a proper DCEU Flash theme.
