Schrader valves, bad O-rings evaporator, condenser and compressor are the most common.

But what if it's just sizzling out the bottom somewhere? I can't tell where but o can hear it. $40 for freon and it worked SO good for 5 minutes, then all sprayed out the bottom. Any advice besides "sell it" which my money bags brother says but that is not an option for me.

Hey Paul I have a Ford edge 2013 2.0 4 cylinder vehicle. About 2 months ago the charging system light started coming on on my dashboard. I thought it was the alternator so I bought a new alternator. When I put it onz the car did not start up. I bought a battery the same day and put it in and the car came on. I drove it for about 5 minutes until the power of the vehicle started going down (the charging system light came back on). I put in new spark plugs and drive belt and still the charging system light came on. When I drove it, it started over heating as well so I put in a new thermostat and added new coolant but it still was overheating along with the charging system light coming on. I left the battery connected the negative terminal and 2 days later the new battery was dead. I tested out the starter and the starter is working with no problems. Have any clue with overheating and car still losing power?

From what you’re describing it sounds like the drive belt is not turning the alternator or water pump enough. Are you sure you have the correct belt and that it’s adjusted properly. Also, are you getting any squealing which is a common symptom of a loose drive belt.

@@proclaimliberty2000 no. I replaced the drive belt with a new one the same day I put on the new alternator. When I start drinking for 5 minutes the car starts to lose power and the steering wheel starts to become hard to turn and the battery light on dashboard starts to appear. if I leave the negative terminal connected to post it will drain the battery that's why I don't connect it.

@@Ed19859 Your battery will naturally go dead with the negative battery terminal disconnected.

@@proclaimliberty2000 yes however not in 2 days. I bought a new battery 3 weeks ago I left the terminals connected not knowing something was going to drain the battery. Something killed it. I did a parasitic draw test and I couldn't find anything. Not sure what's going on.
