Dustin Penner hey do you have any step by step plans for any of your projects?
Dustin Penner فریمان
Dustin Penner it was an attempt at humor, my writing skills match my woodworking skills. You do great work and pick cool projects. You make it look so easy, I thought I'd give it a try. Lets say it wasn't the result I would've liked. Ever try reverse engineering lumber back into a tree? Thats what I claim my various attempts of woodworking are, to justify my results.
Vari nice worke
Dustin Penner
That is wonderful .
So nice to see a craftsman at work
Im officially jealous of your skill level, I've done woodworking for years and couldn't do work like that
All the click clack sounds throughout the video were amazingly satisfying. Also loved the finished product
*Started video
"Psssh.. 7 minutes? I'm not going to watch this whole thing."
I watched the whole thing.
+True 77 Exactly how I felt haha
Impressive. Like how well that spring works.
Hey Dustin thanks for the post been a long time subscriber can you do a shop tour. Love the to see the setup. I have a garage and a half workshop so everything I have needs to be portable. I really enjoy watching your videos however I don’t have a CNC machine but I have most tools. Next pour has is going to be a bandsaw. Thanks really enjoy your builds. Would like to see you and jimmy diresta make something together. I’m also a fan of Alex Snodgrass
You crafty SoB... that was awesome.
+tittiesprnkles Thanks!
+tittiesprnkles I would open this box with a sledge hammer, including the secret compartment!
No wooden box, secret or not. I have ever seen, resists a good few heavy swings with a 14 lb sledge!!
But why would you break the box?
It's not locked. You can open it and go through it's content without doing any work. Unless you know there is a secret compartment and can't improvise a key you have absolutly no reason to destroy it.
Except if you really want to be a jerk toward the people you're stealing from... but even then I think someone would notice you breaking in with a sledgehammer or hear you swinging that ridiculous thing inside the house. Not to mention the fact that your hit would probably destroy the contents of the secret compartment.
+Thomas Pettier "Unless you know there is a secret compartment and can't improvise a key you have absolutly no reason to destroy it."
Look at the last minute of the video. 6:40 shows the box's bottom and you can see that the "secret panel" doesn't match flush with the grain of the wood. That's no mistake he made as he made sure to label all the pieces and cuts he made through the video.
At 7:15 when he's done with the wood polish (or whatever it was, because it wasn't almonds), you can see it even MORE clearly that there's something that doesn't match flush with the bottom. These clearly give away the fact that something's not right with it and practically yells "THERE'S SOMETHING SECRET HERE AND MOST LIKELY VALUABLE".
Sure, you can argue "Oh I'll just make sure it's flush and then nobody will see it" or whatever. I would imagine that the person making this video would have thought of that and wouldn't go and make rookie mistakes and show it off in the video. Not only would that be bad on him, but it would also be passing around the rookie mistakes.
Tess Verres
It's obvious there is a secret compartment and a hatchet would make short work of this box. No need to work out how to open it, just spilt it apart with the axe.
wasn't expecting much, but was pretty much blown away. Good video
Sweet! Like the pin hinges you used, good idea!
Okay, making that stash is on my Bucket List!
Very cool! Beautiful as well.
Wonderful Idea
So cool gadget.
Nice work. I'd love some commentary. What is the wax stuff you are using? How does the mechanism work?
Ryan Scott I have a video that's has commentary, most details are in the description and if you can't understand how the mechanism works after watching the entire video I'm not sure I can help you.
Very Cool. Best video I've seen in a while. You are very talented!
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Beautifully brilliant.
You could easily hide an embarrassing picture of sponge bob at the Christmas party in there. But seriously, that is amazing!
Beautiful.
it's a bit to fast, but it's still super awesome. You should sell this on line beacuse i don't have enough of those power tools. I would probably buy it if you did.
Very nice, congratulations.
Wow that is an awesome box!
+MrHollick Fancy seeing you here =O
+TheBlackBeltPanda Yep the internet is an interesting place!
+MrHollick why don't you upload very often?
Pretty, looks like something from The Room game for Android/iOS :-)
I'd pay for this!
Looks great! What's that little rod with the brass collar on it? I can't tell if its just truing up the edge or if its marking a line.
+The Christmas Carpenter Thanks. It's a marking gauge.

Great! Now to send it of to the Slow Mo Guys so we can follow it ;)

Really nice job 👍
1:24 that almost looks like a bunch of red ants crawling around
Now that was cool I will have look at making one :-) it would be a good place to hide that something special :-)
Hey there I want the plans but the store link- all the links don’t work
tim triest I just tried the link. It works fine.
Geweldig goed gemaakt proficiat
awesome!! love it!!!
Cool. I like it.
Sooooo, where can I buy this already done?
+lookylooky100 I'm working on a store at this very moment. Subscribe here or to my instagram for details about its launch.
what is that tool with the aluminium rod and the brass washer you are using? and where is it for?
It's a marking gauge and its used for marking.
Ah nice, thank you. Good work btw!
im gonna put me one millionth dollar in it
nice work man keep it up.. thanks for the vedio
You are a fking genius
+ilTuboDiRiki I've always thought so, I'm glad others are starting to come around. Thanks!
That was quick lol
Amazing work.Congr...
Where. Where can I buy this
Looks dope
That's just made me hungry.............
No accident prevention ? And your hands are always safe ?
Mmmm... French Fry!
+Bradley Jones Right?!
T
Look at the drill
And then post it to the internet so now everyone knows that this box has a hidden compartment..
+Niek Kisjes Yes its really compromised the security of my household...
lovely m8
it's genial, I love it
what did you put on the wood in 7:00 ?
Everything's in the description
oh thanks xD
WoW!
can you make me one of these I don't have the tools and I really want one
I have two second style of secret compartment boxes for sale.
Do you have a site you sale your items from?
+BuckeyeHigh description.....
at x2 speed this gets wild
dendr0apsis 4X, 8X and 20X. Off the hook!
but it was like you where doing magic!
Dustin Penner Yeah, Anti Aliasing is important in games :)
Rtex I don't get it
Dustin Penner Awesome video by the way...
Anti aliasing is a graphic mode in games that makes jagged edges smooth. (2X MSAA, 4X MSAA)
That's why I said that about the X-s :)
Nice work! I would have made the other side a fake bottom just so both looked the same. Just a thought..
I'm impressed that you managed to make a 7 minute long video that people are actually willing to watch to the end! This is beautiful work, and the video is well made.
haha! Thanks!
Nice, my savings would fit in to the box, the small one of course!
Not so secret anymore is it?
+TheGrayWolf81 lol
+TheGrayWolf81 I got the MO, whats the Bl?
TheGrayWolf81 ssssh😉
especially when you realise that if there is a hole, somebody is going to want to stick something in it and it will open.
You should be really carefull using knifes that speed
Ha
Eyal FU WORD!!!
I think it's just sped up
Obviously!
After all that time, quality craftsmanship, cost of wood and equipment, effort and the skill involved, how much is this worth? I would pay easily $300, but I was thinking it might be worth more.
+Arjen Na wtf?
+Arjen Na 👏👏👏👏👏
Even the wood used in this video is worth more than 10 Bucks
You're a jackass. Just leave the conversation if you don't know what you are talking about.
This one is priceless. It was made with wood that belonged to a friend of mine who passed away.
Very cool dustin. I've always wanted to make something like that
Fun project; I enjoyed seeing the various techniques and geometry come together.
Why does your cnc machine say French fry
minirex pvp I wanted to give it a female name and asked my kids what they thought. They both agreed French Fry was great name. I think its because they were eating french fries at the time.
Dustin Penner lol.
Wow! That's way cool!!!
The fact that this video is almost eight minutes and is sped up, just goes to show how long this took. I'd honestly much rather just go buy one...
Awesome video man, you're a beast
This is someone who definitely paid attention in woodshop!
I was a horrible student! Thank you very much regardless!
Pl
@@dpmakestuff but now you're the teacher. Lol. 👍
Definitely didn't pay any attention to the safety rules! OMG that was scary to watch!
Dustin Penner now all you have to do is work it into a staircase railing, then you will have two secret compartments and no box.
Wow, where did you learn to work that fast. Did you start slow and work up to this speed? How long did it take you? I want to be fast like you!
Jeff Miller he sped the vid up
Lol
nice box, but why everything in highspeed? some actions would be easier to follow if it was on normal speed. still like the video!
That's freakin' cool! Well done. Cheers! --Chris
Cool ideas.
Отличная штука, сказу видно, что руки из нужного места растут
did anyone else see that his cnc saw says French fry on it
+Anthony Ottinger I did. His new machine says Tater Tot...
Dustin Penner wow hes got taste buh dum ting
+Dustin Penner what's next Freedom fries?
Cool idea!
Pretty, but pretty obvious that the box contains secret compartments. There is no other logical reason to have such thick ends to the box.
What is the name of the brass tool that you were using to scores straight lines at what looked to be an adjustable distance from an edge?

This is like pressing 3 while playing the sims and you make your sim carve lawn gnomes xD
lol in im just watching this because I want to live on a sailboat and sail to other countries where guns are very illegal lmao
In most countries, as long as you declare the firearms to customs when you arrive, there is no problem. The authorities may take them into custody for the duration of your stay, then release them when you are leaving the country. The worst that would happen is that they would be confiscated, so check with the country's embassy before arriving.
What you DO NOT want to do is attempt to hide them from customs. That could get you a prison sentence - as they might decide to charge you as a smuggler, which is what you would be.
I'm new to woodworking and want to become a luthier. I'm currently an autobody tech. Could you tell me the name of that round scribe tool you have that thing is awesome? Thanks and thank for the great video.
+TODD BROWN Here is a link. Most useful tool in my whole shop.

Thanks Dustin
Take a valium. Slow down bro. LOL -- Seriously - Great Video.
to fast, little bit difficult to understand the mechanism of locking & unlocking
Looks like a lot of work, but very cool!
Yes, beautifully made, but I envy all those super machine tools - the precision table saw, band saw, router, etc. Without these, which the average hobbyist doesn't have, it would be impossible to make this with anywhere near the precision. So interesting but not very useful
The first one I built was done with a table saw and some very basic hand tools. It took longer and was more work, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
Hi, a random question, but did you actually used almond paste(oil?) to rub the wood? Or you just use the container? Just curious. I want to keep my wood table nice and shiny, but it won't Don't know why, and what to rub the table with.
That was just an empty container that I filled with my own stuff. I made a video a while back on how to make the finish and the link to that is in the description.
Nice
But expected something more.
Gud work though
Thanks to your video this was easy to make. Now my kids won't find my coke again
Sweet ! Are you still selling this one? It doesn't seem to be available on your website at the moment. I enjoyed watching your craftsmanship.....Tkx.
+R Mose I dont have any like this for sale, but I have the second style available right now. Very limited. Thanks
Very nice....but then a thief steals the whole box because it looks so nice. 😯😯😯
i always wondered what it would look like if superman was a carpenter hahaha, nice work...very nice work,
That's a great box and a nice project. Personally, I would have enjoyed it more if you made it a two part video and kept it at regular speed. For me, it was difficult to follow. Maybe I'm too old for this! :-) But again, a great project!
Great video. I couldn't work out what the rod with the gold disc was for. Pardon my ignorance, I'm new to this. I'm definitely trying to make one of these.
That is a marking gauge. Used to lay out consistent cut lines. Thanks!
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY !!!
bandsaw, tablesaw, cnc router, router table, beltsander, drill press, it's sad to see so many machines. it's not hard to make anything nowadays, real craftsmanship is gone
What are you building these days since it's so easy? Believe it or not, my tools don't build things for me. Go be negative somewhere else.
So, at normal speed what does it take to build all this..........6 months?
I really like this. Where can I get a box like this one.? Wonderful video how to and wonderful box . Thanks!
Deborah Durham two options! You can enter the contest I have going on right now to win one like this, or you can get the plans on my website and build one for yourself. Either way, thanks for watching!
Cool box. Wish you would have had more information on it. Measurements would have been nice. Good job though.
Check out my other video with a voice over or go to my website to get the plans. Easy enough. I think I even included links in the description. Anything else?
So richtig sicher sagt der Tor
Ist nur mein kleiner analtresor 😗😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
