Just blown away by the detail and perfection! I'm a retired jeweler and just began to start taking on some wood projects, because I love the creative liberty of it all. Your work is truly inspiring!
This is almost like a work of art, woodcraft at it's finest. I would like to see a lot more of those video's, since I'm learning lots of new woodworking techniques. Keep 'em comming, and keep up the good work!
Great ideas and techniques. I love puzzles, boxes and otherwise; I'm in the process of trying to make original (and some older) mechanisms. Your videos are very inspiring! Love the creation of hardware (washers and knobs)!
I have no words to describe your work. May be perfect! Pretty design, ingenious secret compartment and a very professional realization..... congratulations for your work and thank you very much for share all those little tricks that cover all your work.
There is no word that could describe how amazed I am by your talent. It is the first video I watched and I had to subscribe within the first minute. Thanks so much for sharing your work here.
I love watching you work. Really clever ways to make the materials work for you. Love the way you routed the drawer fronts and cut the corners for the darker wood inserts. Beautiful 😀
+Dustin Penner I love it when you oil the wood and it brings out the natural beauty in the grain. Stunning. Wish I could make stuff like this. You must love it, which shows
+ΓΞTRO ΓICH I call that the money shot! I'm always curious to see what pops out when the finish is applied! Start with simple projects and basic tools, you'll be building this above and beyond this in no time!
This is great work! The locking mech is great, and of course the woodworking looks lovely, but what really gets me is the brass hardware you make yourself; simple but looks lovely. First video I've seen of yours, happy to subscribe!
LOL...I was thinking Jimmy Diresta meets Izzy Swan! Dustin You Rok Dude. You know when I grow up I wanna' be juuuust like YOU right?!!! Keep em' coming Bro! Have A Super Blessed Week!..... Gus
Awesome box. I was just using some thin brass rod on a small box the other day, very basic. But seeing your technique to cut/shape/finish those brass knobs on your box made me realize just how novice I really am, haha! Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the great work!
That's one beautiful box I love the woods that you have used, I have trouble getting those types of woods here in Australia unless I pay the really big bucks here :-/ When Dad I cut down a few trees that were dying out in the back and front yard I kept a lot of it and have it racked up for later use two of the trees were very old orange trees but I found the roots were really pretty and have kept them for wood turning :-) the third tree was an old pine tree around 200 years old so I kept quite a lot of that as the grain was good on it plus I could not afford to buy 200 year old wood :-) that too had some really nice roots that would work out well for turning :-) it got some kind of bug at the base of the tree and we were told it had to come down they quoted $800 to cut it down and take it away umm I don't think so boys was not born on the slow boat to China so dad and I spent the week cutting it down in parts :-) hope to make something nice from it in a few years after drying time :-)
Beautiful! As someone who knows nothing about woodworking, I am fascinated by watching this! But I feel like a dog while I'm trying to grasp what the heck you are doing. "Oh yeah, I see what you're doin' there. Uh huh. Different wood. Pretty. Yup. Lots of pins. Whoa, wait, what was that? Upside down? What the heck? How can you do that so fast? How do you know what goes where? WOW look at that!! You humans are amazing. Can I have my snack now?" 😆
I'm fascinated by secret compartment boxes.... Getting my shop set up lil by lil..... But once it's up..... Boxes will be my life 😁.... Good stuff.... New subscriber here
Absolutely beautiful. As a beginner, I watch videos to learn and I did learn some from this video but would be nice to hear more on like, make sure you do this....or this is the reason for this.....examples so we can learn from your experience. However that may not be the intention of your videos. Truly brilliant box.
With ebony being as expensive as it is, i'm really surprised you didn't do triangles for the splines instead of rectangles to conserve more. Beautiful box! Fantastic work!
Awesome creation Dustin, I must admit I was like "He's not glueing in the brass pulls without sanding off the pencil marks first!" lol. Looking forward to your next from Whitecourt Alberta.
Things that are lost in today's generation of Carpenters - patience, creativity, precision and pride. Great job, keep on creating and sharing with the world
