If you decided to make that 'hidden key' sprinkler mod, then I highly suggest you seal the bottom, else your keys will rust over time with all of the moisture than comes up out of the soil and condenses inside the container.
I come to your home. I take key from sprinkler. I steal Pringles, Water Bottles, Clock and Camera and I go.

i was an avid photographer in high school ( professional now ) put my weed in those fantastic 35mm film cans. told parents never to open them because sometimes I had raw film in them ( i did, sometimes...) mom just stuck 'em in my room...... Thanks mom!

that doesn't matter. the whole point of this is making it in places they wouldn't look to begin with. any safe can be broken with enough time, and location discovered. these rely on the fact that nobody will look to begin with. Robbery is about timing and time spent. The average home invader is in and out in 10 minutes. you never know when a nosy neighbor might look or the owner might get home early. you get in, you grab what you can, and run. after 6 hours of searching every random object and wall and outlet in your house they might be able to find most of these, but there's no defense against that. this will definitely save you something to fall back on in all but the most planned and meticulous robberies.
Not sure how they do it over there, but where I live they will bring out a K-9 unit (trained dog) to sniff out the drugs. And yes, if the dog can track a criminal or child down in a Florida swamp, I don't think they'll have an issue finding drugs in a water bottle.

I would create the "secret book stash" cause any burglar would be less likely inclined to read anyway and at most not interested "hitting the books"..No pun intended!

My favorite "secret stash" just involves drilling a hole in the top corner of a door. The bit costs $5 at home depot and you can make it deep enough to hide pretty much anything you can roll up or fit into a 1" diameter hole
Unless your friends are 7ft tall they're never going to suspect that they touched and moved your secret hiding place every time they came over

Works in countries like Australia since we have plastic polymer money that's waterproof, colored to help differentiate each note apart, is cleaner than paper money and is termite-proof. The newer ones even got embossed dots so the blind can tell which note is which.

@Austin austin - did you try it or just praise. Seems a glass jar would way more, so that water bottle can never be opened if so it will be very obvious it is way to heavy, and will be investigated. (not by a stranger, a roommate or family member) I wouldov checked the expiration date and if expired would throw away the water, BPA's from plastic, say bye bye to whatever was hidden. LOL

Loving life finally, due to the hot hide-a-key thermometer hacky tip for Apartment living! Since I do live with shared common areas, I could only put it on my front door. Maintenance kept removing my thermometer if I put it in any shared areas :( But it looks even better right there, to me atleast! I'm so confident if I'm ever locked out the spare key is prominently right front & center alone in the middle of my door. Anyways thanks again sorry for typos I'm actually typing this on my friends computer because lately I've misplaced actually lately I seem to be misplacing a lot of things like my tablet actually also. I must have put them with my TV & stereo but I don't recall doing so and i've looked all over the apartment which i keep leaving messy because almost every other day lately when i come home it looks like I through a party & tore up the place. You should put a key to another hidden safe behind the thermometer, not your house key directly. That way they will have to find that key and find the place that key goes to in order to get your house key.

Generally, if it makes sense without a comma you are fine not using one. Mostly you will use one when separating the subject of a sentence or when you are making a list.

Small trashcan that you put those plastic trashbags in it so it wont stain the trash can. It looks normal on the outside but in the inside the bottom is a bit higher up then what it looks like on the outside. Theres a smalldoor that you can open and put things in and close it without anyone knowing.
