    At 16:28 after saying the food word and the plastic bag noise, the dogs expression was priceless. The dog is like "is that food in your bag"? and then he goes back to sleep saying "Naah! nothing for me". lol

      +MASK Tactical in a bug out situation, what kind of gear/supplies do you carry for your dog? Or would the dog even be with you? I have "saddle bags" for my husky, she'll carry her own food and water and some additional supplies i feel i might need.

    • @MASKTactical
      @MASKTactical  8 років тому +3

      +L. K. Unfortunately my buddy's getting a little to old to travel too far with any gear on. But in essence if the situation occurred mine would have its own vest and essentials as well. Everyone has to pull their weight. Even the animals. Lol

    Dude, not only do I have that Winchester, I bought mine 7-8yrs ago and it was the knife that lead me to this edc/prepper path. The year I bought that knife was the year I started seriously training in firearms and martial arts; got into high dollar knives, edc packs and BOBs, bushcrafting, flashlights and everything else along the road.
    Mine sits unused now but it sits with a razor edge and the kind of cosmetics that let you know it was rough used and well loved.

    nice set up. as an fyi, the eat'n tool also has two slot/flat head screw drivers at the top. also, for anyone in an area prone to freezing in the winter, DO NOT use a "pea" whistle. the ball will freeze up. you can go to walmart and for $4 pick up a FOX40 pea-less whistle. won't freeze up in winter and is MUCH louder, or, buy a Jet Scream whistle. as our Search and Rescue's survival instructor, a pea-less whistle can be heard much further away and wont fail when it's below freezing.

    thats an amazing setup, the only thing i would add is an extra pair of underwear you can wear that dont get nasty when you wear them, theyre like some sort of sport underwear i think, and maybe a pair of durable socks and some extra mre products, maybe a second main meal and some mre bread or something but other than that, youve made a smaller pack hold a weeks worth of supplies pretty much, awesome! you show off the capabilities of the pack really well, triple aught design should give you endorsement money.

    yes that is what I'm talking about . I have known ppl that thought they had everything strapped down good then after a long hike stop to set camp to find yup there sleeping bag is gone lost many miles away you don't want that when you have spent a good amount of money on them or the got ripped wile bushwacking . all im saying is if you can better to have it all inside the pack.

  • @alexarcano
    @alexarcano 8 років тому +1

    Nice setup, you want suggestions?
    Ok.
    Opening a can of worms there...
    Quality Tweezers for the first aid kit, splinters can cause serious infection. Mirror specifically in the first aid kit, head wounds are difficult to treat without one. Stomach meds, anti diarrhoea, rehydration salts/glucose, dysentery is no joke.
    Bright colour tape for trail marking/backtracking.
    A plain old bar of soap, if you hunt or fish then dressing the future meal is nasty, you can use it for yourself and cleaning your clothes.
    A patch of leather, not your belt, can use it for handling hot stuff without damaging your gloves and stropping if you carry or preload it with compound.
    Non essentials: Superglue. Candle. Deet. Sol bivvy bag, Coconut oil, salt, tongs. Maybe a solar backup charger/battery, more comms, road flare, the list is pretty endless.

      I'm really not even sure what you're talking about. As far as traveling the only thing that's on the exterior of my pack is my sleep system and it's 100% secure and also dummy corded when I'm moving. It's impossible to lose it. If that's what you're talking about.

    I was curious as in your planning video, if having the dog is part of your planning? I think it's smart that you include him in your training if that is the plan. I'm sure you're not going to abandon your pets, but dogs in particular can be useful if given the chance. He'll be more prepared and easy to handle if he trains with you, so people should follow your example.

    Just a suggestion/question, instead of a roll up sleeping pad, why not a blow up pad? usually a ton lighter and can compress into a baseball/softball size. Save you a ton of room and wouldn't have a pad sticking out. I went with a blow up and it helped with mobility a ton. great video, awesome bag bud.

    • @MASKTactical
      @MASKTactical  8 років тому

      +Ryan Stevenson this is a self inflating pad.

    • @Rynosexual
      @Rynosexual 8 років тому

      yes its self inflated, I'm describing one that blows up that can be packed into a small compression sack www.klymit.com/static-v.html/?gclid=CKCV1t7ZtM0CFQ8vaQodgNsP2g
      this is an example, the one I have I take backpacking and saves me a ton of room, it packs down to 3in by 5in. yours looks to be about a couple foot long. Like I said just a suggestion, I noticed the difference when I was walking through wooded areas, or squeezing through tight places. just a lot lower profile and saves you space.

    • @MASKTactical
      @MASKTactical  8 років тому

      +Ryan Stevenson I considered it but opted for this style for durability. Everything I looked at at the time in that style that looked like it was rugged enough was pretty expensive. I also don't like taking up interior space in my pack for sleep system components. I do plan on giving some a try though.

    • @MASKTactical
      @MASKTactical  8 років тому

      +Ryan Stevenson how's the durability of that one? It looks nice.

    • @Rynosexual
      @Rynosexual 8 років тому

      I was using that one as an example, I do not have any experience with that one, a friend recommended it, and loves it. There are some out there that are extremely rugged that pack down real small and lightweight. My ultra-lite backpacking days in Colorado really helped when I decided to start packing my at home BOB and using an EDC. One other sleeping item I fell in love with that can give much better rest is a very small microfiber blow up pillow. I wouldn't bug out without it! really don't even notice it, can fit anywhere and beats sleeping on your pack or a rock.
      My next big investment is trying to find a small power storage that actually holds enough power for a ipad recharge and phone charge reliability is what I'm having trouble with and don't want to spend $200 on it haha. love the video though man.

      @MASKTactical  8 років тому +1

      +Coded Concepts @.2k!! It's not expensive to me. It's value matches the price in my opinion. Gotta pay to play with this level of gear man. It's also a piece of gear that supports your life. All of TAD's gear is on the higher end of the price spectrum but it's well worth it. Right now I don't believe there's any discounts unless you're military or LEO. I am going to work on getting our fans a special MASK promo code though.

      +Alex Poz when he comes with me I bring whatever he needs. He's getting old. Putting weight on him will only make him more tired. I don't bring him much anymore. We believe he's got a tumor behind his eye as well. It's a sad thought for sure but it's life unfortunately.

      MASK Tactical that's a good point, my dogs are no longer with me, but when they were I felt secure camping just about anywhere because of their fine tuned senses, I knew no one could ever sneak up on the camp when they were around. The husky used to carry her folding water basin, canine first aid kit, canine vitamins, antibiotics, and either 12 beers or my sleeping system lol. Now I have to carry my own beers

    I'm just curious as to where you are at in TN? I live around Nashville. I also have a few ides for ya but I'm not sure what all you are looking for. I'm working on 4 different packs right now. an inch pack, B.O.B, tactical/assault pack, and a medical pack, if you need anything just ask.

    You make several references to being in the field and even combat - I'm curious what is your professional background?

    • @MASKTactical
      @MASKTactical  7 років тому +1

      +jeff vance I never made reference to being in combat. I did however say that the pack is being built to be modular so that it could be utilized for a combat scenario as an assault pack if needed. I want it to be capable of serving me in survival, as well as any combat environment by simply swapping out a few modular kit systems. When I say in the field it simply means in the field training. You can find any information about me and my background on our site.

    good video, Really do Miss TN. One Question and it is real BIG with me as it should be with you.. You DID Not mention anything about your companion. If you, or anybody who brings a Dog with them in the field should bring accommodations for them. It really would be nice that people talk about them and what they bring for them, like water, bowl, food, toy. first aid, leash, etc.

    Ive just discovered MASK and the Warrior Tribe. I have to say I am intrigued mainly by your commitment to your mission. I have recently become very concerned about my ability to protect myself and my family in a crisis situation. You offer some great tips for training and survival. My question for you is: Do you have a family with children and if so do you offer any videos or guides on things like B.O.B for kids, self defense techniques for family, and training techniques for making kids aware of their surroundings?

    • @MASKTactical
      @MASKTactical  8 років тому

      +IrvWay Short I do have a family but I don't offer anything specifically for family preparedness at the moment. Our tribe works to better everyone in all aspects though. It's a good place to start. We do plan on creating some family based training products overtime though.

      depending on age of children. lil ones maybe carry playing cards, crayons and coloring books. Any way you can keep lil ones calm can surely help. Older kids, think of what they may need.
