As an over the road truck driver, I've driven through Ferguson, San Bernardino, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Seattle, and every major city between them. The skillset to pay attention to your surroundings is critical to your daily success, regardless of the social situation. Head up, Eyes open, phone in pocket.
Great videos series. Keep it up!

I didn't believe that people were so unaware until I myself became aware of my surroundings about 10 years ago. My uncle was killed and beat to death with a rock by 2 thugs who wanted the $44 dollars in his pocket. They walked up on him and cornered him in a vacant fenced in commercial lot. He tried to fight back but he was an older man and he was weak after having received a liver transplant less than a year before and he had nothing to fight with and no where to run to. He probably couldn't have fought them off in any circumstances unless he'd had a gun. His best chance would've been to be aware of his surroundings and not let himself get cornered in an isolated area. And also to have had a legal "concealed carry gun" and permit on him in the State in which he lived where it was perfectly legal to do so. After that, I learned how to protect myself and take advantage of my second amendment rights and get some formal training for less than the cost of a weekend vacation. I'd say that 95% of all people, especially people under 25 (who always seem engaged by their iPhones) are completely unaware of what's going on around them. These "sheople" go through life so oblivious to what's going on around them that they make easy targets for criminals. Over 90% of violent public encounters (as opposed to inside the home) such as robbery, rape, beatings, muggings, etc, could have been easily avoided by people just being aware of their surroundings and not putting themselves in the place or position to become a victim. Some people are just so stupid, because those same people will spend $500-$700+ on a new phone or a weekend trip, but cant justify and won't spend a few hundred dollars on a class to learn to protect themselves, or a few hundred bucks for a decent "concealed carry weapon" that can potentially save their lives or someone else's. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

It’s important to point out other factors that affect body language: age, size, gender, cultural differences, social status, and position of authority. Some people want more personal space than others. Some people always struggle with eye contact. Some people won’t make eye contact because it’s considered rude in their culture.
Not meant as criticism, but as extra information.

Like me I always make eye contact when talking and I also don't blink that is for me to get any situation under control and establish I am the alpha male here and then I don't let any body walk up on me like a years ago me and my wife was at the has station and I was pumping gas and this guy I never saw in my life was trying to talk to me and walking towards my and I dropped back and told him to stop where he is and stop walking up on me he broke my 15 foot rule that rule of mine is if some one I'm not comfortable with gets within 15 feet of me the fight is on so,I moved in and gave him a left man a right hook and a left elbow to his jaw knocking him out and got in the car and me and my wife left also I have a rule once I fight I leave the scene because I don't know if he has a gun and when he wakes up if he will shoot me or my wife or leave and come back with 10 friends I also leave to avoid legal trouble alot of times when you have to defend your self then you leave you don't understand how extremely hard it is for the cops to find you and plus when I attack I attack hard and fast before people can pull out their cell phones and catch the fight on video I always thought it was stupid people waiting to engage in a fight so their friends can pull out their phone camera and record you don't want that videos can get you in trouble

One thing he didn't mention, was: "Listen to your gut instincts". If you feel something isn't right, then don't do it. Its very easy to ignore it, especially when your along with a group and they are saying "nah, its fine". I went along and could've gotten mugged because of it. You have not said a single untrue thing in this whole video. Your video has been well put together. The only thing I would add to this is gut instincts. I have been in combat zones over seas and in that environment your gut instincts are your best friend. As kids we can't help but to listen to you instincts. As adults we have been conditioned to ignore our instincts for social niceties. However your instincts don't lie.

great video and info. the young girl getting kidnap was a perfect example of people not paying attention to there surroundings. most people get out and lock there vehicles but don't stop to check what's around them. before even parking I'm checking the parking lot before even getting out. I'm always telling my wife to do the same but she thinks I'm paranoid at times. for me it's always came natural to be aware of what's going on. as soon as you let your guard down is when bad things happens. the Lord always keeps me in tune with what's going on and always watching over us. take care and God bless

Use and train with every tool available today to survived, if you have the tools but do not know how to use them it will not save you. learn from your mistakes and try other different styles of survival. be in shape cause if you are not then you are not a prepper, at least be able to run a 5 mile stretch.

I like your way of thinking Brother. I naturally have & have further develop my situational awareness, observation skills & prepared attitude. I started developing a different attitude to anyone in my family when I was about 8yo. At that age I worked out if I have a knife, fire source & good boots on, I could get myself out of most situations & I started building debris shelters though never being shown how to or ever having seen one & long before survival became popular, as I am now 50. I also developed a very strong 6th sense about people & became a watcher. most of the time my strong instinct has been the correct one.
I really like your mental games while shopping idea & will be putting it into practice. Never too old to learn, right.

Informative, enlightning. I watched 1&2, anticipating future lessons. I found a great deal of comfort in the fact that there are others out there that think along the same lines as me when it comes down to human behavior and the dark side there within. I tell people all of the time, fail to plan planto fail, and also that poor planning makes for poor performance. You never know what drives someone, and who you can trust. I've experienced the extreme behavior of someone trying to get close to me under the guise of being a friend just to find out that it was only an act to get close to do extreme harm to me for no other reason other than I had shown them kindness and they mistook it for weakness. At any rate, I look forward to your next video.

In response to your opening statement I leave you with the lyrics to the TooL song, "Vicarious."
    Eye on the TV
    'cause tragedy thrills me
    Whatever flavour
    It happens to be like;
    Killed by the husband
    Drowned by the ocean
    Shot by his own son
She used the poison in his tea
    And kissed him goodbye
    That's my kind of story
It's no fun 'til someone dies
    Don't look at me like
    I am a monster
    Frown out your one face
    But with the other
    Stare like a junkie
    Into the TV
    Stare like a zombie
    While the mother
    Holds her child
    Watches him die
    Hands to the sky crying
    Why, oh why?
'cause I need to watch things die
    From a distance
Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
You all need it too, don't lie
Why can't we just admit it?
Why can't we just admit it?
We won't give pause until the blood is flowing
    Neither the brave nor bold
    The writers of stories sold
We won't give pause until the blood is flowing
I need to watch things die
    From a good safe distance
Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same so
Why can't we just admit it?
    Blood like rain come down
    Drawn on grave and ground
    Part vampire
    Part warrior
    Carnivore and voyeur
    Stare at the transmittal
    Sing to the death rattle
La, la, la, la, la, la, la-lie
Credulous at best, your desire to believe in angels in the hearts of men.
Pull your head on out your hippy haze and give a listen.
Shouldn't have to say it all again.
The universe is hostile. so Impersonal. devour to survive.
So it is. So it's always been.

Look at everything, settle on nothing specific. Even if you appear to be focused on one thing, you should be more focused on your periphery. All your senses play a part into letting you know what's around you. Learned this stuff in prison, decades ago. It's never gone away, even though I'm not in that life any longer.

Outstanding bro, you have the gift of education, sadly most folks wont or cant accept this stuff.
I put it to you that a hunter is one that knows his quarry, its habits, senses and defence mechanisms.
When I hunt its all sensors on alert, mainly wind direction, crucial. Setting up the kill shot is all of what you say.
However the clear and present danger today is us as the hunted, the upside is that the hunters are generally fanatics with basic hunting skills, this makes them easy to spot to the trained eye. All the tells you speak of are completely correct.
Consider this scenario.....busy mall, sweaty pulls a wep out of his coat and fires a few rounds. 6 folks dead, public hit the heels
and run for the exit, sweaty 2 outside the exit initiates cellphone activated device..........
Moral.... dont do the obvious, dont run with the sheep, death loves a crowd! This is not aimed at you bro.
Just a bit of advice to the watchers.
    Thanks man. ATW

Compliance and comfort in your general surroundings can be the downfall of many. Maybe the MOST important factor to remember when it comes to cyber stalking is NOT checking into every location you visit. After a while you can literally predict people's movement simply by seeing where they check in on Facebook. Overall bro you did a great job on that video, nailing all the top points to keep in mind. I believe we all are subconsciously aware of those variables, just need to bring that into the conscious and be aware, not paranoid.

+The Survival Outpost indeed man. What I do, and something I've talked about in a previous video is called "lag posting". For me as a public figure it's somewhat necessary for me to check in as part of creating content. So what I do is post an hour or two before OR after the event. So if I'm going to check into the gym, I'll do it long after I'm already done and back home. But for the average person who don't have to create content to make a living I would recommend never to check in personally.

    • @TheSurvivalOutpost
      @TheSurvivalOutpost 8 років тому

Yep when I do "checkin", it's always after the fact, not before or when I'm at the location.

This is helpful, as I have to go into a terrible neighborhood for my children's end of the year State testing. The district offices are in a horrible neighborhood. Last year the police had to be there daily to escort the parents and kids to and from the offices. This year I had to take the bus and will again, my daughter and I were followed and a called was made by a couple of thugs. Soon two more guys showed up and we're staring at us hard. Luckily, the bus came and took us out of there, but one of the guys tried to block the bus with his body and the driver managed to get around him and park right in front of us. Now I have to carry extra money to get a cab out of that area. All the awareness in the world doesn't help when your cornered with nowhere to go. I also learned from the cabbie that most people do take a cab out of the area, and then finish on the bus.

once we moved to a neighborhood and the man across the street told them (our folks) not to let us around some kids in the neighborhood and he was right. we coudln't figure out why how he knew that but now after a long time - we think we figured it out some some at least. they didn't keep us away from those kids n' we had to move we moved! they were planning to retire there, too! so it was really bad. ? they yes how'd he know how much trouble they were who knows- but he was right! it's pretty obvious, too we just don't know all about it. but it's clear something's not clear but - he just had situational awareness that's what it is really. what he said was something bad would happen to us kids if they let us around them kids! and he was right! it was really bad. everything's really bad and everyon'es really horrible pretty much. this was no different. but hang out with the dumbest people in the hood and you got problems maybe. also, little girls around the retarded black man! ? they were planing on us getting married to him though and ? we just have no idea. they still say about how it was love and he belonged to us and all and that isn't real or anything. but people do view 5th graders as adult and w we were so small and they started us in school a year late coz we were small even. ? the move will be to kill the raped little girl though by all these people clearly! by everyone her parents the male who she's supposedlygetti married to..the girls

Simply being observant could literally save your life. When I was in high school, my friends and I were hanging out in a parking lot after we got done eating. My friend decided to be silly and waved to a group of guys around our age walking across the street. They came over and asked if we had a problem with them. We said no and that we just felt like waving. One of the guys then asked if we wanted to fight since there was an even number of us. Immediately after asking, I noticed the guy in the back take out his phone and start texting someone. We declined to fight and said we had no reason to fight them. Our egos were in the way, so we stayed around and continued this uneasy conversation until three of my friends decided they'd had enough and said they had to leave (they actually just got in their car and drove around to get a view until we managed to get out of there. I didn't know that at the time). So now it is just me and one other friend. We notice them getting more hostile and one of them walks over to my friend's car. My friend runs over to ask what he's doing to his car and the guy blocks my friend from accessing his car. Immediately I knew that that kid wasn't just texting anybody. I tell my friend to get in the driver seat and start the car. I shoved the one blocking the passage door and hopped in, locked the doors and began driving away. Just as we did, 4 car loads of teens, some armed with bats and crowbars, pulled into the lot and got out. Had I not noticed that kid on the phone and reacted as I had, I easily would have been hospitalized or possibly even dead. 2 on 25 is never good.

+TheCoolwhipped I find it insanely strange that this all happened simply because your friend waved at someone lol. I feel like far more words were probably shared to cause such an incident. None the less yes, simply being observant alone can see you far in life. Thanks for the story!

    • @TheCoolwhipped
      @TheCoolwhipped 8 років тому

+MASK Tactical Honestly, no. it was just a group of 16-17 year olds who felt like they had something to prove. I found out later from a friend who goes to that high school that two of those kids also had gang relations (that was the car loads of people who came). Sure, before he asked to fight we talked about where we went to high school (theres a lot of high schools in this area) and everything seemed pretty civil, then during a lull in the conversation, one of the guys goes "so we have 5 guys, you have 5 guys, want to fight?" I suppose I should mention that this whole ordeal (from first contact to driving away) was over the span of about an hour. But yeah it all started with a wave and then some kids wanting to act like hard asses.

    • @MASKTactical

    SUBSCRIBED AFTER 2 VIDEOS!
    :D
    You're obsessive compulsive, aren't you?
(not meant as an insult or a judgement, merely situational awareness and reading people)
    ;)
I have never seen someone so MINDFUL OF THEIR SURROUNDINGS as myself until this video.
I have been this way since I was a kid, I don't know why.
But I always need to feel, see, hear and smell what is going on around me.
You can also feel certain vehicles and weather conditions in the form of vibrations.
And that reflection trick, I have done Sooooooo many times.
There is also a similar indirect observation technique I use when I'm wearing a hat with a visor and holding a cell phone.
Not only does EVERYBODY go everywhere with their cell phone (so it looks completely normal) but people fixated on a device are almost always COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to their surroundings.
I have found that if my head is tilted downward as if I'm texting while walking, I can look up at people's feet walking around, getting a sense of what type of individual they are, if they appear to be going near me in some way, or other clues without ever looking up, making eye contact, or offering any tells that I have observed their actions and body language.
Similarly, I was walking a nature trail with a buddy and I kept pointing out tips and observations to him.
We heard people near by, so I told him to walk on the grass where it's more quiet than on the gravel.
We startled some whitetail that were bedded in the woods, to I pointed out that indicated no one had been in the area for quite some time, since they hadn't been spooked out of their lay.
This same trick works with birds, scaring them away from an area usually means you are the only human there, and seeing several of them fly from one origin means something in that direction has spooked them.
LOVE your perspicacious view of the world around you!
Though it may seem obsessive to most, even paranoid and hyper vigilant,
THESE ARE SKILL THAT KEEP PEOPLE ALIVE INSTEAD OF BECOMING STATISTICS.
Powerful minded, righteous warriors like yourself give me more confidence and hope for the future of my nation.
KEEP SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND INSIGHTS WITH THE PATRIOTS OR OUR REPUBLIC - -
    WE NEED THIS!!!!

Great video. The comment about slogans can work against you. Stickers like the ones on your jeep, t-shirts like the one you're wearing, "tactical" pants with a million pockets, to a "bad guy," make you, the "good guy," an immediate threat and the first potential target. They've practiced their situational awareness also so I usually try not to stand out. Oh, and at 9:15 you're not wearing your seatbelt. Click it or Ticket.

+Nathan Garza Thanks for watching! This video is more about situational awareness than it is about gray tactics, which is what you're referring to. They work in correlation with each other but are two different skill sets. SOME criminals pay attention to these things, but not a lot of them. A professional criminal might practice these skills. But not your average everyday burglar, they make mistakes left and right. But you're right about the things you mentioned. They can create a memorable stimulus. But again, that's getting into gray tactics which is coming up next in this series later on.
