@@MatthewHaggerty-zk9mg It’s still in talks, but hopefully with the success of X-Men ‘97, there’s a good chance we might get a continuation of the 90’s version of Spider-Man
Too much like right but I'd definitely love them to do hulk and unless their bringing rdj in the live action didn't think they'll do iron man Spider-Man is our best shot. Them again can see fantastic four to get people excited about whatever movie they release
I didn’t even know there was supposed to be another episode. I thought we were just supposed to have that cliffhanger. Glad it got resolved and hope the episode can be produced sometimes people love nostalgia nowadays, so I think it would be a good idea for Disney and Marvel two capitalize on that and finally finish and I iconic piece of childhood nostalgia for many of us
You know if they do ever give this series the X-Men 97 treatment, here's what may or may not be such a good idea for it, they could introduce Toxin and have Flash Thompson become his host as a nod to Agent Venom in it.
I think they should stay away from modern stuff, even as only parallels. The show should feel like a time capsule and only feature concepts that are from the comics during the time of the original show, or do it's own original stories. Keep stuff like Flash Thompson as a host or Miles Morales Spider-Man away from the series.
Nah, doesn't really need modern stuff since the show was like a good adaption and also inspired some other stuff for some other spidey shows, and really all it should focus on is to continue.
Before anybody makes some wise crack I was born in 1978 and yes my name is Peter Parker. I remember watching Spider-Man the Animated Series on Fox back in the day and I was under the impression the episode with Madam Webb was the season finale I didn't know there was supposed to be an episode after it I thought that was the season finale and the show didn't get renewed for another season I didn't know they were an episode short and one didn't get finished. Still Digs at me that I never got to meet Stanley and the last couple years is life I don't think I could have stomach meeting him at a convention given how things went downhill. Videos I seen of Stan at a convention made me feel like he was a robot on an assembly line and that just really bugged me. Most of my life I've wanted to meet Bruce Campbell and Stan Lee at a convention and never had the opportunity. I never read much of the Marvel Comics growing up my thing has been the animated cartoons over the years based on different Marvel properties and then the live action movies starting in the 90s like the maid for television stuff and so on. Worst part is there's a lot of quirky coincidences in my family as an example I went to school with a redhead named MJ LOL. I haven't seen her since I was like 16 or 17. I was raised by my father's parents. My mother's maiden name to make matters worse is web how's that for screwed up irony? I was named after my father his name is also Peter Parker. He was born in the '60s. Still makes me giggle that my father's last name is Parker and my mother's Family's last name is Web. I don't know why the man finished the script after all these years I can't imagine them going back and doing a one-off just to finish the story. It still blows my mind that they went back with the X-Men but they changed stuff from the original script. If you're familiar with the last episode of the X-Men in 96 Xavier was very much alive he went off with the aliens and they were going to help him I forget what was wrong with him anyone off with the aliens for help so him all of a sudden being dead was a major change to the storyline. And there's a bunch of other little quirks they have done like morf and several of the other characters look completely different than they did in the 90s series by comparison. And yes I get that the X-Men 97 is meant to be way more well written and adult compared to the 96 and 95 series lol. The bit with multiple Jean Gray still makes my head hurt! I mean that wasn't even soap opera tacky that was just down right warped and about as logical as Wolverine becoming a proctologist. I mean I get it they're trying to do something nobody could see coming but still it just wasn't even logical.
In the final episode x-men'97 Peter didn't find MJ yet! Hear me out! This is long before she lost her because of the IronMan suit! Tony Stark wears the classic IronMan suit! In the Spiderman cartoon when Spidey had a crossover with Ironman(carnge and Venom) he wore the second suit! So this is long before she was missing so he didn't found her yet! Unless Tony Stark had a nostalgia to wear the classic suit!
helps that I read Beau DeMayo's confirmation on twitter that the brief view of Peter and Mary Jane in the end of season 1 of x-men97, is confirmation that Peter did find her
best spiderman animation, the art style is so epic, not like today lazy art style animation, the shadows, the character physic are all too good. I wish they continue this animation but like the old art not a new style.
This is obviously not how it ended, at least not written at the time of the original series. It mentions miles and and spider Gwen and those characters were not conceived of till many years after the animated series ended
I hope that spider man gets revived like X-men 97, I watched the 90s series of both and they were pretty good but the X-Men 97 revival is fire! BUT if they do revive Spider Man, I hope they DO NOT, under any circumstances add you know who
how could this be the official final spiderman animated series from the 90s, characters like spider gwen and miles morales weren't created untill maybe a decade or two after the series was aired
I don't want to be a dick, but MJ is fine. Not only the Madame web tell us the last episode of the original 90's series that "She's fine, but there's an important job I have for you!"😮( Which was to meet Stan Lee!) but we saw her again in episode 1 of Spiderman Unlimited! Personally, I know everyone screaming up and down that Spider-Man should get a revival series thanks to X-Men 97, but I want to see unlimited finish!!! Do that first!!! Now there's a cliffhanger that has me on the edge of my seat going "What's going to happen next?!"
They aren’t gonna touch spider man unlimited 😭🤣that show was a shock it was made, and has tons of issues almost as bad as the new animated series the 2000 cgi one
I Want A Spider-Man 98 Since The Success Of X-Men 97 Has Been Successful Cause This Is About 1990s Marvel Cartoons Being Revived And I Want To See All The Unused Villains Make An Appearance Including William Baker Flint Marko The Sandman
This all sounds stupid. I’m glad we got what we got, where we can just assume Peter found M.J. (in a far less silly/stupid way) and they lived happily ever after.
already been debunked of the script is fan made do more like fanfiction than a natural anime episode of Spider-Man it is that's probably why the show was canceled
DO NOT reboot Spider-Man! It was a complete story and I’m so tired of seeing Peter Parker get kicked while he’s down by writers. Let him have a happy ending and make a Spider-Girl/Mayday Parker show instead.
Spider-Man’98………..NOW!!!

In real life Jack the Rippers final victim was named Mary Jane, I think thats why the writer chose this era for the story
Really? I didn't even know that. Interesting
Oh yeah! I think her name was Mary Jane Kelly.
No, John Semper Jr just really likes the Victorian Era
I guess X-men 97 did at least give a sort of conclusion
Although I would not mind a return of the old series
But ONLY if the original actor returns.
I bet this episode was not animated because it contained too much death. I mean Carnage doing multiples brutal murder is too much for them. Too bad...
