The narcissist I was dealing with was a covert narcissist, who actually in my opinion researched what narcisissm was and then went exactly against it so people wouldn't assume he was a narcissist. He would downplay himself constantly to fish for compliments, he withdrew from social media saying he ''didn't like attention'' and when his ex found out he cheated on her and got drunk he responded with ''i got group pressured because I'm sensitive''. When I caught the first Narc cheating on me , I literally pulled him out of his other Supplies house, I remember it, She had a Pink robe on( they looked so nice and comfortable) and their secret child which was two years old was running around the house and he had my car and had not come home all weekend on a snowy day , I remember that it has humilating , I took a Taxi to her house, cause I called around to his families homes and called the police department and hospitals to see if he was ok, cause he did not come home all weekend , I was worried , and then his grandma broke down and told me the whole truth about the other supply she finally felt so good to release and even gave me the new supplies address , I had no idea about . His whole family knew he had another supply with another kid I never knew about and he when our son would be watched by him while I went to work, he'd have our son around the other supply, they all would be pair bonding and going to the zoo 's and museums as if they were a "happy family" . I uncovered a duffel bag of pictures with my son in it with them all posing in my Attic Space . They are master manipulators , this happened almost 20 plus years ago, My son even knew and never even said anything, but he was three and so innocent and young, it breaks my heart the Narc was grooming our son to be secretive and not tell mommy at such a young age. Anyway he brought my car home and he hid in the closet , while the other supply called my house and wanted to fight with me .The nerve of her and him , she still till this day has an attitude with me , even though everyone has moved on , she now has 4 baby daddies and he has 5 baby mommas now he increased his supply , And guess what I have none , but only one 24 year old and less stress
Be very careful with vetting. The question and answering of questions will and can also trap you. They are very consistent in the beginning, but once something traumatic happens OR problems arise, they change. Happened to me! The vetting will give them all the answers; they will basically transform themselves to exactly what you want. They build and become better. I’ve learned so much from being married to one. First time I’ve never dealt with a male like him. His new gf even act just like him; she’s actual worse. He’s spoke about me so much, she thinks she knows me.

Wish i knew the power of "NO." I had a fever and said no to my pos ex, he broke up with me with no empathy. Another tell tale sign is when they lack empathy, run.
I had emergency surgery and he wasn't there for me at all. And we had been living together for 3 years and been together for 5. I had to go to my friendsy house to recover. When I was able to go home and was on. Bed rest for 6 weeks ...within 2 days he was furious with me I didn't sweep and mop the house....and stupid me is still with him..nothing has changed except his tact's....

Nope. He showed me who he was enough times for me to believe him. As I said to him when he asked, ‘we don’t get to go back’. ‘I learned a lot about myself, thank you for that 🙌 I wish you every happiness, I really do, it just won’t be with me’.
So basically, it seems like they are watching videos and acting like the anti-narcissist. For example, overly agreeable, overly nice but not in the classic love-bombing style. I guess like Lee said, the quicker you say no, the quicker you find out.
I really like this topic because it explains a lot. I have been with someone for 14 years, but the last 2 years have been so much better. I still don't love him, and I think he knows, but he will always tell me he will off himself or say that he's nothing and how I deserve better. I always just stay quiet. I also feel guilty because once I make more money, I will probably leave, and I know I will be guilt tripped in some fashion.

However, just know that while many manipulators continue to play the long game through wearing their many masks, the slip will eventually show; because no one can pretend indefinitely, at some point the real intention and motives will be exposed. I always borrow him but I don't want to have any contact with him it's every month the same I m just scared he won't be angry and do something bad to me😢 please lee tell me what to do my mom is my strength but I m afraid at night. I also deleted whatsaap becose of him. Please lee if you want tell me something when I watch your videos I feel stronger tell me at night how to handle the feat😢

I think I triggered one by expressing disagreement with an idea and standing up for myself (in an assertive and non-aggressive way).
If I ever have a sight disagreement with mine, he gets angry.
