Love your annual SEMA coverage as it just you talking, and shooting what you want. No sales pitches or corporate bragging on their products. Nice to see little Sarah again, her ready smile and cute laugh is missed!
To answer your question about the difference in recorded distance walked... GPS usually does not work indoors, so wearable devices will use an average stride length to estimate distance travelled. If your actual stride length is longer than average, it will understate your distance walked. If you try a long walk outside, and if you have your phone with you, the distance measured will be more accurate.
I could be wrong but I think unless you change it to your actual step length, it defaults to 31 inches. I like to use GPS whenever possible because it's way more accurate!
There is a procedure to calibrate the Apple Watch to your stride length on their website. You have to walk where you have GPS signal for about 20 minutes. It says that this can be over multiple sessions.
The watch has a motion sensor that tracks arm swing. So smaller steps mean more frequent arm swing. Plus the fact that you are hold the camera the whole time which affects your arm swing.
12:29 Sarah, that's a Chevy Opala, made by Chevrolet Brazil, had the body of a Opel Rekord C but the front end, and rear end were inspired by American muscle cars, the straight six engine also came from the US.
Also know a Opel Commodore; the Record had a CIH inline 4 the Commodore a 6; bespoke Euro GM/Opel engines. The first design draf of it apparently originated from Australia where it is know as the granddaddy of the Holden Commodore series. Powered by a Holden V8. Considered very valuable as classic these days. Sharing the body style but all unique. A lot more so then the badge swapping they do these days. I think the SS front was for the US Opel model that they also released. Never very popular next to the bigger brothers it was inspired by and thus rare in the US today.
Distance was based on average stride. Shorter inseam = more steps, so it calculates a longer distance based solely on the number of steps. Thanks for showing us the usually-overlooked side of SEMA!
The watch tracks your "step" by its own movement/shocks it detects. It also takes an average distance for 1 step. That's why small Sarah has more distance
@@delukxy They're both estimates based on average stride length for an average height woman. So it overestimates for one Sarah and underestimates for the other Sarah.
These phones and watches have GPS. the distance traveled shouldn't be calculated/estimated by stride, I agree with Sarah, they should be a lot closer than they reported.
@@MikeSmith-km9ff It's not solely determined by GPS, it's also by foot impacts. I used to work in a large retail shop/warehouse indoors and would log thousands of steps a day inside with no access to a GPS signal.
@@MikeSmith-km9ff That's probably true when outside and they can pick up a GPS signal, but many devices are not powerful enough to acquire a GPS signal when indoors, especially inside a metal-framed building.
Hi Sarah and Sarah! Great seeing both of you together again! Wish it was a longer video. That big truck up on stands weighs about 17,000-20,000 lbs. They use lifts like that where I get my truck serviced at. Those lifts can pick up at least 22,000 lbs my old truck weighed that much. And if you have overhead clearance they go high enough you would be able to stand up and not have to stoop down. They aren’t cheap tho. And you have be careful about stuff because if you drop say a clutch when it hits the concrete you hope it doesn’t hit your foot cause it’ll hurt! Stay cool
The orange Chevrolet car (12:40ish), which made you confuse, is from Brasil, that is a late '70s model. They were introduce in 1969 and the production ends in 1992. The model's name is Opala, like the semi-precious gem.
Thanks for always taking time to give attention to the less covered stuff; that's where most of my interest lies usually. BTW, the "Cuda" at 10:03 is definitely a retro bodied late model Challenger, which is why they all have modern Challenger dashes and interiors (and rooflines, fender lines, window shapes, mirrors, etc. etc. etc.). One last thing, about the step counter thing... you guys walked the same distance, but little Sarah just used more steps. I suspect those step counters estimate what counts as a step based on either the user's data (like height or whatever) or more likely, using some sort of SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) based on what an average step is for a human. But yeah, short legs is gonna mean more steps per mile. Credit to her for keeping up!
@@SarahnTuned I'd love to understand some of the ins and outs of being a youtubler. Like what is a like worth, vs a subscribe, vs a view, vs a comment. Do you get the same monetization from a UA-cam premium user vs. a UA-cam poor user? Thanks for the vids. Always enjoyable.
Two mage Sarahs came together to go on the perilous journey of the Sema and through their travels they encountered horrors not known to friend kind. Wavy paint, missing driveshafts, and certainly most definitely some potential fire hazards but once the beast with it's maze like halls, endless walkways, and dangerous escalators was slayed the two Sarah's return home to show us their most epic adventure
This was great. You work so hard it’s wonderful to see you get a much needed break… and a bonus getting to see little Sarah and her quirky humor. Never been to SEMA but it looks like a great time. Thanks for showing the more offbeat vehicles. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
@5:08 Ooh, Australian Holden Commodore VL series 1986-1988. Holden normally used GM engines but with unleaded fuel mandates from 1986 they didn't have an engine ready so this model used a Nissan RB30E straight 6. Not sure if that's the case for this particular one given the giant blower stack.
Great job at finding the unusual rides at SEMA. Love all your knowledge on vehicles. Never cut yourself short. A lot of walking for both of you. Thanks again. 15:41 sweet green econo van. Too many favorites.
Love when I get to see two Sarahs...the extra-tall, economy-sized one and her fun-sized companion (who's just a bit shorter than my redheaded wife!). ❤
Sarah, Many Tanks for sharing the Rigs that a lotta folks dent show, Most Excellent And Hugga Hugga for Little 5'3" Sara. it's great gettin to see her.
Thanks for this coverage that's not yet another video with all the same cars! Very interesting. Welcome back Sarahs (x2)! So glad to see you both! Regarding your watch question: Usually they measure the number of steps: shorter step length = more steps for the same distance. But if the watch just multiplies the number of steps by an average length, you end up with the discrepencies you've shown. It's usually possible to adjust this in the settings (but I don't own an iPhone) Otherwise, have you considered that Sarah did walk more than you ? 😉
You each need to calibrate your watch to your own stride length (there is a procedure for that on the watch). Then the watch will report more accurate distances for your gallivants.
Such a treat when there’s a Little Sarah! 😊
@cchow4185 - agreed times 100 - the sisters Sarah and how Sweeeet to see the small one has let her hairdo grow out. Like 👍
Sarah’s spirit animal ❤
Short Sarahs matter.. 😂
Ok yes
But is it little Sarah - or just normal Sarah and Giant Sarah.............no offence ;-)
I saw little Sarah in the thumbnail and immediately knew my day was going to get better. 2 Sarah’s for the price of one!
Glad to see you and Little Sarah showing us SEMA.
4:15…Sarah we wish we could smell what you smell…..get it 😜
You missed the gas monkey truck
& walked by the count Tony from counting Cars Vegas❗️❓😂‼️

Back and forth for angles.
That's what created 20+% more steps.
That and length of step. 🎉

You 2 are awesome when you get together, you both have great personalities and when you combine them it’s awesome. Looks like you had a great time.
Great to see little Sarah.
I will watch every second of Little Sarah content that exists.

Agreed...also you have to do a shot every time Sarah says "Neat"
OMG Little Sarah seems like the most adorable person ever!

I would 100% enjoy little Sarah covering a walkthrough SEMA! Wanna hear more of her “technical” jargon. :)
Thanks for covering SEMA Sarah! Liked the video cause I got to see Little Sarah as well.
It's nice to know that at least once a year you spend one day outside your shop 🙂Thanks Sarah and Sarah for showing us SEMA. That was very cool.
Thanks

Pair of Sarahs is ultimate Sarah!!!!
I didn't give that air pump much thought until I grasped that it's operating under water. That's quality right there 👌👌👌 real nice.
Thank you sooooo much for covering everything at SEMA, not just the "popular chassis" everyone else is covering
The Dynamic Duo!
