Realize that you never know the people who make the music you love so much, and that its THEIR music. When there's a change up in the band, it's a different band, and different way to play. There really isn't a better or worse unless you're talking about a personal preference of a song. Lighten up.
Tarja is like storm. Absolutely airy with spacious vocal. Very Windy vocal. And floor is thunderlike vocal. Very fullfilled. They both have absolute ability to understand and express the song.
this is my nightwish i love with tarja, i get instantly in the mood with her voice and the musik, but since they kicked her out, they are only half as good they were, and everybody can learn to play a instrument, but a voice is a godgiven thing, and they droped the only thing out what made them special from others.... Marco should sing more he has a good voice to....
Tarja, or Floor J, both excellent singers, and when they sing together, like I saw on UA-cam, taking turns singing verses, and you could see the love, respect and admiration they have for each other. ❤
Tarja will forever be the best vocalist NW could ever had; annie and floor are cool too, but tarja is THE Singer. Her voice touches something inside my chest and makes me cry.
The beauty of Tarja's voice is how full bodied and complete the notes sound throughout the full range of her singing. Tuomas was right when he said she was irreplaceable. As much as I like Floor, in direct comparison song for song she sounds thin. It's too bad Tarja's solo material is so drab and boring. Oh well!
I wish she and Tuomas would just get over it and reform the real Nightwish. Floor is very good, but this Nightwish lacks the epic sound and feel they had with Tarja. And you are right, Tarja's solo stuff is not that exciting. Tarja and Turomas NEED each other to be their best.

For example, I find Tarja's classical style 1999 version of "Sleeping Sun" much better her 2005 contemporary version, but with some people it's the other way. Some rock-minded people can't stand operatic singing, while I find it most beautiful. Some people like Floor's even soft singing, while I like Anette's more lively singing. Some people like growling, I prefer clean vocals. Matter of taste.

please don't be. she is much better off with a solo career. she has more control over material arrangements and her angelic voice can be heard without Marco chiming in every minute.. every interview she does displays cheerful smile and that intoxicating booming laughter

Omg, Tarja's vibrato is terrible, she really need to work on that. Sure Tarja has an original voice, one of a kind..but people no matter how much you keep bitching about "Anette vs Tarja" it's not going to change the fact that Tarja is out. Jani Liimatainen got kicked out of Sonata Arctica and replaced by an almost unknown dude named Elias Viljanen, but almost every person on the Sonata forum have accepted it. Geee, life goes on and it hurts sometimes, but that's just the way life is.
well either way the bands gotta work together as one big disfunctional family and whether or not they just cant work with her or she wants more dough doesnt matter in the end She obviously is no longer a part of nightwish, so thats the end of that chapter.
