Both Tarja and Anette are amazing singers. I love Nightwish's old songs as well as the new ones. Seriously, Dark Passion Play is the best album out of Nightwish I have ever heard. Anette does it justice and brings her own style. And if Tuomas, the soul of the band, continues to write, only more great music will come. No point in dissing one singer or the other. And I think Tarja did great performing this live. The Siren is one of my favorites.
Incredible song, incredible musicians, incredible singer!!! Everything is perfect and her siren calling incredible too!! But it's my imagination or Tarja has something in her hair like some hair extensions, because when she is rolling her head in the part of the keyboard (sounding egyptian) she rolled but then she put her hand in her head and it seems like her hairs is about to fall!
you guys are only seeing one side of the story. i assume you never read the replies her husband put up on her site? it seems that their split seemed to be due to misunderstanding each other, rather than through any "diva"-like fault of Tarja's.
have u read the entire letter? i googled it and it explains how she would never travel with the band,never do soundchecks.....all diva like behaviour,and if youre 4 bandmates decide to fire you your behaviour leaves something to be desired
Okay, I don't care how much anyone hates Anette, comparing Nightwish to Evanescence is below the belt. Laying aside the argument that Anette and Amy are completely (not polarly) different -- it's still Nightwish! Empuu, Jukka, Tuomas, and Marco are STILL HERE. It's disrespectful to those talented men who were there from the beginning to compare Nightwish to an act as tasteless as Evanescence.

But because Tarja's voice sounds so different live than on the albums, that leads me to believe that they edited her voice -- which makes her no better than a mainstream pop artist. Oh -- and the reason she doesn't sound completely incompetant is because she doesn't HIT all the notes. Anette sounds no different on the albums as she does live, and doesn't sing off-key. You might know this if you saw them live.
I don't care how she sounds on a video clip. The sound quality is terrible, anyway. Besides, I know how she sounds in person. I don't need a drunk cameraman with screaming/singing girls all around him to tell me how Anette sounds.

If you supported the band and went to any of their shows, you would know that skirts aren't in Anette's touring wardrobe. ...Duh... And, no, we do not hate origional Nightwish. We just realize that we are, in fact, at the "End of an Era" and aren't going to get Tarja back. Oh, and not all the live performances with Tarja suck -- just Lowlands.
This performance was DEPLORABLE. EVERYONE but Jukka and Tuomas seemed to be off. Even Empuu wasn't at his best. Of course, Tarja never did a live show right, but Marco really disappointed me. He seemed so burnt out, not hitting his notes right, his tone was bad...and what's up with the John Lennon sunglasses? Come on, Marco. You're a Viking. Get it together, baby. I swear, the boys looked SO much happier when I saw them than in ANY of the old performances.
Now I get to poke fun at Tarja, who is wearing BANANA YELLOW. Her vibrato threw the rhythem off; she hit NONE of the notes on the bridge, and all of her cadenzas? Flat. Come ON. She SQUEAKED! This is my favorite song, but she completely butchered it. Again: Tarja sucks. Thank God she's gone. Compare ANY of Tarja's live stuff to Anette live! I never thought I'd say this, but live, ANETTE IS FLAWLESS. I saw both women, and as much as I doubted Anette before, this tour redeemed her.
