    Thanks for the video, gives me confidence in my last order that I was building up my army’s in points (and not just cool looks)

      I did not :(
      I pick up a reaver titan, Astartes support, and the Arvus transporters

    The drop pod models leave me conflicted, whilst beautiful to build I wish they had made them simpler and cheaper as they are really hard to justify - as with lots of the AI kits that proceeded them, the abundance of spare parts for alternative builds is ultimately what causes the cost. I would love to see a discounted bundle with enough pods of all sizes for a company sized deployment, I doubt that would ever happen though.

    Awesome vid as always. I would love to see some tactic videos from you, but as always you're doing brilliantly

      When I get better at tactics! I’m thinking of doing a ranking of the legion traits by how well they fit the fluff of their legions. That doesn’t actually require me to be good at the game :P

    Great write up, would love to be a fly on the wall when the accountants are pricing these kits, I wonder if they even know it’s a war game or they’re just looking at nonsense names on a spreadsheet

    I can see the "logic" in only putting one sprue of Storm Eagles in the box - for customers that don't understand/care about the per-sprue pricing, it's going to be very weird that Storm Eagles would be half the price of Fire Raptors, and there will be much snarling and gnashing of teeth. This is a historical anomaly because of the Aeronautica Imperialis starter sets and the fact that they happened to be able to fit the Storm Eagles on one sprue. If GW wanted to fix this, they'd spread out the Storm Eagles over two sprues, knowing them.

    I'm not so sure about points per pound as a metric, simply because it takes as given that a given model is adequately priced points wise. Like the Knights may be good PpP value but the consensus seems to be that they're quite overpriced points wise.

      Oh for sure it’s not a good metric for building comp lists - but it’s the best we have for building *cheap* lists :P and where possible I do talk about competitive viability of those points.

    Like, yeah it’s a luxury hobby, but GW prices are far above almost all other companies’ prices in this luxury hobby!

    • @d-rex7043
      @d-rex7043 4 місяці тому

      It wasn't a luxury, when I started collecting/playing.
      Think that idea came about when GW white knights started implying that if you were complaining about price hikes, you were necessarily poor.

    Really great info! Could you make a video about the price for a competitive astartes list?

    • @LItbashing
      @LItbashing  5 місяців тому

      If you’re going strictly competitive, what you want is LOTS of missile marines. Min maxing missiles and contemptor dreads. So it would be VERY expensive WYSIWYG because you’d need to get enough infantry boxes to represent so many bases of heavy support… oh and a Warmaster :P

    • @jonathanthomson3388
      @jonathanthomson3388 5 місяців тому +1

      @@LItbashingI have been reducing the number of figures per base; 2 missile marines & 2 tac marines for the heavy weapon bases, 3 terminators or 3 assault marines; from 2 boxes of Astartes this gives 12 bases of devastator marines & 8 bases each for the terminators & assault marines, much better value for your money!

    • @LItbashing
      @LItbashing  5 місяців тому +1

      @@jonathanthomson3388 for my kitbashed models I use way fewer per base. My lascannon heavy marines are only three per base. Same for the red butchers and red hand destroyers. Helps give them more space on the base and stretches the kits a little!

      I have spent a ridiculous amount on this game, but I’ve mostly funded it through selling off my 40k and AoS collections, so no harm done! 😂

    I don't understand the premise. Why would you build an army without 3D printing? We live in a world where a top-of-the-line printer is less than €300. If you want something more basic you can get it for a lot less. And when you do, the world is your oyster. I just printed a Warhound titan for less than €2 worth of resin. Including a scenic base that looks much better than the ones GW are selling.

    • @LItbashing
      @LItbashing  4 місяці тому +5

      And that’s fine. I’m not saying don’t 3D print. I’m just giving the stats for those who choose not to. I significantly prefer traditional Kitbashing and sculpting to 3D prints. That’s kind of the whole conceit of this channel. 3D modelling for printing is its own skill and there are plenty of other creators dedicated to that. This is a Kitbashing channel.

      What 3D printer are you using and where are you getting your STL files?

    • @patrikandersson8054
      @patrikandersson8054 4 місяці тому

      @@chriss.4083 I use an Anycubic Photon D2 at the moment, but I am looking to upgrade to something with a bigger build plate. It's probably going to be an Elegoo Saturn 4.
      I get most of my stl files from cults3D. They have a huge library of both free and paid ones. There are other pages with similar selections, but I find the search function on cults to be slightly better. Many stl files, especially for 40k, go under "camoflaged" names, such as galactic crusaders instead of space marines, for obvious reasons.
