I love this! Because of you I now have a book list! All on audio book due to busy life but I started with the favorite books you mentioned in the homeschooling video. Esperanza Rising, and A Long Walk to Water. Which I absolutely loved both! I’ve gotten my daughter ( turning 10 this week) into listening too and we listen together now to ones that are appropriate for her! We are in the middle of A Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I’d love to hear more non fiction books you have read with yours kiddos along with more videos like this!!! Thanks so much for your book also! I absolutely loved it and didn’t want it to end! You reading it in the audiobook made it even better!!!

What great books! I'm a sucker for non-fiction books. I probably listen to 100 audiobooks every year, because I just love learning. When I get interested in a topic, I devour everything I can find about it. Love the idea of the book club.
There's just so much out there, and it's always great to have someone share their thoughts on a book before deciding if it's anything I would be interested in.

Kindred book spirit here! I just love your channel, Angela and hope you do more book club videos in the future! Some of my top favorites that I think you will also love: The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Bomb: The Race to Build and Steal the Worlds Most Dangerous Weapon, Pandora's Lunchbox: How Processed Food Took Over the American Meal, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters In the End, Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed American Forever, Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup (this was my most recent read and it was SO crazy and good), and lastly Mutant Message Down Under by Marlo Morgan (this one is fictional but an amazing message that I really think you would love).

Love this video. Please do this again. I used to read a lot of books but slipped into reading lots of fanfic as it's quicker and easier. Trying to get back into book reading. I challenged myself to read 12 - 24 paper books this year. I seem to be drawn more and more to non-fiction so this was so helpful for me.
I don't have children but I'm lured in by balanced and barefoot, sounds really interesting.

Love all your videos, you are so well spoken and eloquent ✨ love the book club idea! Please pursue that idea! One idea/upgrade for a next book related video would be to organize the books you’re presenting, I don’t have children yet and love listening to you, but it would be nice to have them presented together so if needed people who are less interested in the parenting books can skip through that section and get to the other section of books you’re reviewing ✨

2 books that I think you will really enjoy are "Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About the People We Don't Know" by Malcolm Gladwell. It's hard to describe what this book is about, but I highly recommend listening to it as an audiobook. The other recommendation I have is really weird, but is a really good audiobook to listen to and it is called "Split Tooth" by Tanya Tagaq. Hear me out on this one. It is short and I would recommend doing a quick google search on the author herself, it will make it a little more understandable. PSA: Use headphones when listening to "Split Tooth"!!!

I'm from the area in which hillbilly elegy is written about, I read the book as the freshman required. It was an interesting look into a place not to far away that yet felt so different from what I experience in my life. So local article have said that Ron Howard has been around to learn about the area in order to better represent the area on screen. I know I'll be in the theater shortly after it comes out.

“I Will Try” by Legson Kayira
A true story about a man, penniless and passport-less walks across Africa determined to make it to America to escape poverty and earn freedom. I know you have a special love for Africa and Education. This book will definitely have you taking a deeper appreciation for the circumstances we’ve been brought up in, as well as a new attitude towards any challenges that you face. If Legson can walk across Africa to reach America, while not fully knowing the way there, then we can certainly atleast try to accomplish our goals. I’m only 4 chapters in and I’m hooked! Ps. Thanks for sharing these titles, very interested in all of them!

By time kiddos are all in bed and actually sleeping, I'd rather just sleep myself lol. I'm liking audiobooks lately. I can listen to those while washing dishes (I'm the dishwasher). I know the point of this video wasn't your children, but if your looking for good history books for the kids, I can definitely recommend the My Story series. They are diaries from the perspective of people living through major historical events (e.g. The great plague). I don't know how readily available they are in the US, but my knowledge of history as an Australian Child came mostly from books like these. So I definitely recommend those if your looking :)

He didn't have a teach or feeding tube he didn't even wear glasses. He was affectionate, followed direction, was signing etc. He has the intellect to know horrific rejection. How could they do this? Why?? You talk so much about the loss kids feel and go through. Please share your thoughts.

I listened to Catch and Kill on audible and wasn't a fan of the voices either. I think it's an important read and I'm glad I finished it, but to be honest I don't remember everything from the book. But then came the Catch and Kill podcast!! It's ten 35-50minute episodes that include the people involved in the whole story. Ronan Farrow even has some people on the podcast who wouldn't comment while he was writing the book. Hearing from some of them first hand is...let's just say I recommend it.

My husband wrote a memoir last year about our family of five's experience with childhood cancer and my husband's resulting fitness transformation, from couch potato to marathoner: "No Match For Her" by Travis Lee Hicks. I'm biased, but it's a really good book!
