We began fostering after a long infertility journey. We have adopted 4 children and fostered 3 more. I am fortunate and blessed to be keeping my job throughout this pandemic, but I know that’s not the case for some of my foster parent peeps. I think I have given away 3 beds that we had in storage during this time to help others open their homes. Toys (to occupy bored children), food, beds/cribs/bassinets, baby items- all of this is a huge blessing for a foster family!!! I adopted my twins from foster care. They came to live with me at 10 months old and the adoption was final 3.5 years later. They are now about to turn 5. And in a weird turn of events, my parents adopted their 9 year old sister from foster care almost a year ago. Now the three of them will be growing up together.

As a foster mom who has really struggled through this , I want to encourage people who don’t have a local chapter to call your department of child services and give food directly to a foster family and/or buy clothes for the kids who need it and/or babysit for a few hours. Your local child services know which foster families need help.

Yes! We're in rural Michigan and while there isn't a National Angel's there are many foster closets across the midwest, and our local county, with the same needs.

I am from Brazil and we are supporting a foster home near our house by collecting donations from our friends, we are taking these donations there on Monday, right now we got 3 mattresses, 5 pillows, 8 bags of child clothing, 20 boxes of food and 3 boxes of toys. I don't know who said that either but my father says that all the time "if you have more than you need, build a bigger table, not a higher wall". I hope you can get all the support you can, these children need us
I’m a foster parent and I so appreciate this. Also, since schools have been out for so long, kids aren’t around mandatory reporters like they usually are. Children whose only safe place was school are now at home 24/7. Child safety agencies are preparing for a HUGE surge in children needing homes when schools open back up again. Please give if you can and if you have ever thought about getting licensed now is the time. We are going to need more foster families. In my state there is one foster home for every 6 children in care. That’s why so many end up in group homes.
It’s the same situation in Australia. It’s very quiet right now but it’s about to be bursting with children. There are also a lot of placement breakdowns in Australia because Kids are not at school and carers are not getting respite like they usually would 😔

This was so touching I am also a foster a mother but due to fear for me and my kids I have not accepted anymore children and my heart really aches but the fear is strong here in NYC and nothing is being said to us to give us any reassurance when placing the children especially the babies. We are a foster family, my husband and I with our 4 bio kids. We are new, and have had one baby girl so far, who was with us for 77 days and went to be with some family. My heart completely is changed and God has broken my heart for foster care.

This is why I foster - during our licencing we are fortunate that alot of our friends asked what we needed. We were overwhelmed with generosity of the things that were given to us for our kiddos. We still get tons of stuff - toys clothes bikes etc. Whatever we don't need we pass on to other foster carers or community support groups that helps people in need in our community. We are fortunate that we are remunerated well where we live - its more than enough to feed cloth and educate. i advocate for people to consider fostering in any way they can -emergency,respite or full time. its hard but its worth all the challenges and it makes me a better person.
I wish I had money to help, but as soon as I do I will do what I can❤️ I have an income daycare with my mil and we have a few families that are in foster care! And we try our best to give what we can for them. ❤️❤️❤️ love you

My husband and I had had it in our hearts to look into becoming foster parents, especially for 10-13 year old children. There was a child who needed a home because of different situations and the situation was urgent but nobody in our church had a foster license and it broke my heart that we had to turn this child away. Still in the process of researching more, but excited for this new journey ahead.
I was in so many foster homes, every single one of them was abusive. No help, nobody cared. I could have just stayed where I was. I am glad you are different
I've just donated! I'm a certified foster parent here in Germany waiting for a placement. I totally would have loved to adopt a waiting child from the U.S., but the legal hurdles are near to impossible at my age (46). My heart goes out so much to all of the kids and families that are in need of help. Thank you so much for advocating for these least ones in society who are also such a valuable part of our future.

All of our kids came to us through foster care, we remain in contact with the kids' Forster aunts and uncle and consider them an extension of our family. For the past year our small group partnered with this organization to love on a foster family for a year, putting together love boxes each month.. It was as much a blessing to our family as it was to the foster family. We got to see (from a distance) God at work in this family!

I just need to offer a huge thank you for advocating for children in foster care, those waiting to be adopted, the families that are caring for them, and organizations that help them! I personally work for a private, nonprofit social services agency, and I work in about every facet with foster care, adoption, and pregnancy counseling. The thing I love about my line of work is that, at least in my experience, you'll find that we are very non-competitive and want to spread the word about other organizations out there also doing what we do or who are helping in other ways!! I am here in NC and had not heard of this organization so am super excited to share about it with my team. It has been INCREDIBLY hard to continue to do what we do with all that Covid19 has wrought. Offices are closing, social workers are being let go, because bills can't get paid when you aren't able to fully do the work because of limits on the safety side of things as well as the "red tape" at the state level. And yet we KNOW we are going to see a surge in the number of children and families needing our help in the coming months. But fundraising, like you said, is also so limited now and lots have experienced losing money because of already planned events. Some days, it is very easy to succumb to the negativity and feel anxious and overwhelmed by it all. But times when I get to hear you and others out there share hope and joy and spreading awareness really, truly blesses my soul
We adopted from care. Food is such a HUGE issue because it's a comfort when their world is in turmoil. Our groceries DOUBLED when our daughter moved in. Thank you for bringing awareness. Foster families STRUGGLE when routines are broken.

This was so touching I am also a foster a mother but due to fear for me and my kids I have not accepted anymore children and my heart really aches but the fear is strong here in NYC and nothing is being said to us to give us any reassurance when placing the children especially the babies. I really wish there were videos to watch on current placements and the new procedures and precautions, I will be looking into this organization Thank you for posting this and God Bless you.

We are a foster family, my husband and I with our 4 bio kids. We are new, and have had one baby girl so far, who was with us for 77 days and went to be with some family. My heart completely is changed and God has broken my heart for foster care.

This is why I foster - during our licencing we are fortunate that alot of our friends asked what we needed. We were overwhelmed with generosity of the things that were given to us for our kiddos. We still get tons of stuff - toys clothes bikes etc. Whatever we don't need we pass on to other foster carers or community support groups that helps people in need in our community. We are fortunate that we are remunerated well where we live - its more than enough to feed cloth and educate. i advocate for people to consider fostering in any way they can -emergency,respite or full time. its hard but its worth all the challenges and it makes me a better person.
I wish I had money to help, but as soon as I do I will do what I can❤️ I have an income daycare with my mil and we have a few families that are in foster care! And we try our best to give what we can for them. ❤️❤️❤️ love you

My husband and I had had it in our hearts to look into becoming foster parents, especially for 10-13 year old children. There was a child who needed a home because of different situations and the situation was urgent but nobody in our church had a foster license and it broke my heart that we had to turn this child away. Still in the process of researching more, but excited for this new journey ahead.
We have had it in our hearts to do this as well! Also with older children. So glad to see there’s many with this in their heart as well 💜
I was in so many foster homes, every single one of them was abusive. No help, nobody cared. I could have just stayed where I was.

I've just donated! I'm a certified foster parent here in Germany waiting for a placement. I totally would have loved to adopt a waiting child from the U.S., but the legal hurdles are near to impossible at my age (46). My heart goes out so much to all of the kids and families that are in need of help. Thank you so much for advocating for these least ones in society who are also such a valuable part of our future.
Good of you to use your platform for this type of awareness. All of our kids came to us through foster care, we remain in contact with the kids' Forster aunts and uncle and consider them an extension of our family. They truly are amazing people and I am so happy to hear there are organizations like this.

For the past year our small group partnered with this organization to love on a foster family for a year, putting together love boxes each month.. It was as much a blessing to our family as it was to the foster family. We got to see (from a distance) God at work in this family!

I just need to offer a huge thank you for advocating for children in foster care, those waiting to be adopted, the families that are caring for them, and organizations that help them! I personally work for a private, nonprofit social services agency, and I work in about every facet with foster care, adoption, and pregnancy counseling. The thing I love about my line of work is that, at least in my experience, you'll find that we are very non-competitive and want to spread the word about other organizations out there also doing what we do or who are helping in other ways!! I am here in NC and had not heard of this organization so am super excited to share about it with my team. It has been INCREDIBLY hard to continue to do what we do with all that Covid19 has wrought. Offices are closing, social workers are being let go, because bills can't get paid when you aren't able to fully do the work because of limits on the safety side of things as well as the "red tape" at the state level. And yet we KNOW we are going to see a surge in the number of children and families needing our help in the coming months. But fundraising, like you said, is also so limited now and lots have experienced losing money because of already planned events. Some days, it is very easy to succumb to the negativity and feel anxious and overwhelmed by it all. But times when I get to hear you and others out there share hope and joy and spreading awareness really, truly blesses my soul
We adopted from care. Food is such a HUGE issue because it's a comfort when their world is in turmoil. Our groceries DOUBLED when our daughter moved in. Thank you for bringing awareness. Foster families STRUGGLE when routines are broken.
