I read 55 books last year. Aiming at 80 books this year. Reading books on Spirituality, Buddhism, Stoicism, Poetry, Relationships, Mental Health, Happiness, Personal Finance and Nutrition. This year is all about personal development for me. Improving myself physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.
Wow @arise07 you read so much. That's amazing. Do you share it anywhere? So many people would love to learn from what you're reading. Always looking for great book recommendations
As an avid reader, I would advise you to read some fiction. Like when you read some fiction, you live from the character's perspective. The mistakes he makes and the lessons he learns always sticks with me and have a deeper effect on me than other book. Obviously, this is my opinion and not a fact or anything.
@@tomcole9715 I feel you. Fiction has been the place where I haven’t tapped into yet. I don’t know where to start but I’ll be reading “One Hundred Years of Solitude” soon and might tap into magical realism books. Fiction is something that’s always been on the back burner for me but I definitely wanna read some stuff. Just don’t know where to start.
@@andreg127 Start with something easy like Harry Potter or Alex Rider or the three doors trilogy. After that, read the more advanced fiction books because if you start with the advanced ones, you might be overwhelmed and that might discourage you
This video is so timely. I just finished my first book of the year literally 5 mins ago! I was a bit too ambitious in my habit development journey last year, so I decided to just focus on reading and exercise this year. I'm truly hoping for the best! :D
Reading is so amazing! It's like sitting down with the author in your own living room and learning from their experience. My goal this year is to read even more books!! Thanks for the suggestions Matt! 🔥
I highly recommend "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalanithi, it is an autobiography that is beautifully written, touching and will stay with you for a long time.
Homeownership is a crazy bullrun in Canada too. We've been super fortunate to own basically only because my family was able to support us (grandparents and parents). Great video Matt 👍🏻
The smallish apartment I'm currently renting in The Netherlands went up from an estimated value of 190.000 euro to 275.000 euro in 2 years. What a time to be alive and renting :( Sadly this is extremely typical currently. From a soooomewhat entry level place to completely not affordable for anyone that's single and getting harder and harder for couples too.
Hey Matt, I wanted to realy thank you for your video 1 year ago about reading. It was one of the main motivations for me to get more into the habit of reading and now, 1 year later, i have finished 20 books. While I also initialy aimed for 24 books, its still insane for me looking back and realising how much i read and how well I was able to maintain that habit. It is definitly hard sometimes and it realy can feel like a chore (especialy non fiction) but the rewards, insights and joys you get out of reading are definitly worth it. 10/10 can recommend Sooo... thank you.
I'm so stoked to watch this interview! Greg is one of my favorite people and I always love your conversations with him! I'm thinking of writing a novella about minimalism, or rather about the opposite. I've spent years outlining and drafting a massive Star Wars fan-fiction series but I think it's time for me to stop shooting so high right out of the gate and just write something short. I don't think I'll try to get it published but I'll put it up on my website at least and maybe print a few copies for family/friends. I'll still work on the series but if starting on UA-cam has taught me anything it's to start slow and be willing to post crappy stuff -- to learn by doing and creating.

Yeah, the most important thing to remember about writing is that you might have to write thousands of words to get something good. Don't get discouraged if your first draft isn't good
I read "where the crayfish sing"/"um lugar bem longe daqui" in Portuguese, and it was just AMAZING at the end! Even though I've been suspicious of the little clues about the fact throughout the story, the construction of it is just amazing, trying to make you believe in a perspective of the whole thing until the final chapter. My favorite fiction book of 2021 for sure

I've read around 30 books last year, but there have only been 2 that stuck with me big time. Atomic Habits, which is about small steps and habits. And the Almanack of Naval Ravikant, which is about wealth-creation, philosophy, and happiness. I also used to hate reading, but COVID got me to read and now I love it! Great video Matt!
I really like this new position/place that you have chosen for your videos. Sitting down on the floor right in front of the camera really makes it feel like you have come and sit down with me like a friend. Thank you for continuously making these amazing videos.
I can never get myself to sit and read- I'm too slow and nothing sticks in my head!! But thanks to Audible, I'm able to listen to 1-2 books a month. I write notes while I listen and this whole principle works well for me because I can use my time commuting to listen to audiobooks. I feel so much more productive because reading was one of the last things I never managed to squeeze into my day. I hope I won't get attacked for not actually picking up a physical book, but my ADHD just doesn't let me read. Besides, as a musician, the best way to get through to me is through sound! I love business and productivity books. Even though I am a creative, I just don't find any merit or joy in reading fiction.
I’m the same way. I LOVE books! Worked at Barnes & Noble for years, always dreamed of having my own library in my home, and have actually gained a large quantity of my most loved books alongside future reads. My struggle is that I either get distracted too easily or when I do get uninterrupted time, I start falling asleep a few chapters later so it takes me forever to finish a single book. Audible has been a Godsend to me too. Most of the books I’ve listened to I also own the physical copy. Some books, I listen too and then go back and read over some parts that I want to reinforce. This is especially true for books that I’ve read for my own personal growth journey. I believe that as long as you’re getting the message of the book and you enjoy it, listening or reading, it’s all the same. And I don’t tell people that I listened to 12 books last year, I still always say I read 12 books. 😉
*"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and the next best time is now"* I consider this to be best motivational quote I've heard in a very long time. But motivational quotes are useless if you don't practice what you preach*
I agree with you and I believe that the secret to financial stability is having the right investment ideas to enable you earn more money, I don’t know who agrees with me but either way I recommend either real estate or crypto and stocks.
Crypto is bringing a different revolution in the world economy. People who are optimistic investors earn consistently.... Others will just sit and watch!.
@@Charlotte13265 I trade with Mr David Bryant, and I must say he makes money making seem a whole lot easier right now I'm a single parent and i pay the bills comfortably since i met David Bryant, he's absolutely amazing and I'd recommend him for any novice in crypto.
I had a bad experience investing on my own until I met Mr David Bryant, I have made over $200,000 Trading cryptocurrency, I even made a whooping $28000 on my last trade with a capital of $6000. Retiring next year with no fears!!
I kind of blame the school system for running my love of reading because before, I had book reports, I read anything, I could get my hands on but when, I felt forced to read for marks it became a "chore." I think, children should be encouraged to read but no book reports until grade 5 or 6 at least not grade 3 because than they associate reading with work!
I honestly didn't really have a problem until high school. I never minded doing book reports because I liked talking about books and writing was fairly easy for me. When I got to high school, though, there was good insane amount of pressure to pull out these themes that barely even existed and didn't even feel important (like womb envy in Frankenstein) and that just kind of ruined reading because I felt like I was doing it wrong but also hated the "correct" way
Same. I used to go to the school library and pick books and read them in 2 weeks (the maximum time you were allowed to keep them). I used to read like 10-20 books a year. And then in High School book reports became a thing and I've spent YEARS without reading a single book. It's only recently at my 27th birthday that I picked the habit back up again.
I was the exact same. I didn’t particularly like the books we had to read throughout primary school, but I didn’t mind reading and writing about them as I genuinely enjoyed both of those things. Once I got to high school, however, my attitude towards reading completely changed. It wasn’t the mandatory reading of certain books that was the problem, it was the work we had to do after reading each chapter. Deciphering metaphors and themes is all fine and dandy, but they were never open to interpretation. You had to have exactly what the marking scheme said otherwise your answers were wrong. While some books are very clear in their message, there are plenty of books that mean something different to each individual reader. Not being allowed to have a different opinion from the marking scheme really took the fun out of something I really loved.
It’s funny/sad that I despised book reports/reviews in school, because now I love telling people about the books I enjoyed reading and look to suggestions from others. Great video!
Well, since you asked, it's easy for my seague. I recommend you my first book - The Flower Of Fulfillment, the little book for life which I strongly believe is the self-improvement everyone must begin with!
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir is an amazing book! Highly recommend it. Along the lines of reading goals, last year I tried to read 50 books but in aiming for that I found myself picking shorter books rather than gravitating towards ones I was interested in. So this year my goal has been to read a minimum of 10 minutes every day and so far I’m averaging WAY more than that!
I’ve only read one book this year and am working on the second 😂 last year I read 10 or 11 which is pretty good for me. My best year was 2020 with 13 books.
Hi, Matt. I want to recommend "The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did" by Philippa Perry. The title as you can see is self-explanatory. :) On a surface, it's obvious that it is a book about parenting, but after reading it thoroughly, I can say it's more about understanding and accepting your inner child before/while deciding to be a parent to a child. It's a great book whether or not you plan to have a child in the future, as it talks abundantly on self acceptance.
I’m late to the party but I recommend lost connections and stolen focus by Johann Hari. As a teacher and educator this made so much sense of the world for me personally and when it comes to understanding my students. There are wholesome moments and opportunity for pauses in his writing that reads like a novel and I’ve had (sorry for being personal) the most liberating cries of my life in these pauses
My Top 3 Books of All Time: 1. Think and Grow Rich - N. Hill 2. Mastery - R. Greene 3. How to Win Friends & Influence People - D. Carnegie After reading these 3 books, I never read any other self-help books anymore. Mastery is for finding that skill you'll be good at and Think and Grow Rich is how to apply that skill. While How to Win Friends & Influence People is how to deal with people, because in the end we still need to know how to deal with others. Hope this help! Thanks for the great video!
Not reading a book because you do not align with all ideals of its writer would limit your perspective to the opinion of those in your own reference group. Everyone has something to teach us, it is our choice whether we are ready to learn.
My recommendation to you would be “We Begin At The End” by Chris Whitaker. Great book of fiction. I’ve upped my reading game this year, and have been surpassing my monthly goal. The more I read, the more I want to read. It’s strange how it engages yet relaxes your brain. I love the mental escape into someone else’s life and perspective.📚

Yayyy! “16 more books than 2020”. That’s exactly it. Love this so much because it’s important to focus on the growth not just how big or dramatic it is! Kudos Matt. 🙌🏼 Two books that made a huge impact on my life were “The Checklist Manifesto” and Complications by Atul Gawande. I read them both during medical school and completely changed how I approach medicine later on. Absolutely amazing reads!
Nonviolent Communication: A Language for Life by Dr. Marshall Rosenburg -- a really simple and fast read (especially audiobook at 1.3x speed) that really changed how I viewed communication, my wants and needs in communication and relationships, how to listen more effectively and how to communicate more effectively and compassionately with others.
Thank you Matt, you've allowed a new path to a challenge I've yet to put upon myself, read all the books I hold dear. I have a lot of books, but I pick chapters, and don't read cover to cover often. So now, here I go! Oh and I too, LOVED the book The War of Art, one of my favs. I'm going to put the day I start and the date I end on the inside cover of the book to keep track of how long each of took me, just an idea.
And I just made a video about how I struggled to finish one book. That's right. ONE. And this video pops up. Great video Matt but why you gotta do me like that...

Thank you for the book tips. My suggestion is "Zen & the art of motorcycle maintenance". Favorite quote "You need periods of lateral thinking before you can think in a straight line again".
I would love to recommend "Turtles All the Way Down" by John Green. The story follows a teen who deals with anxiety, and it was very comforting to follow the journey. If you'e looking for more of a practical, or applicable, reads "Joy from Fear" is a great guide for mindful ways to tackle your fears, and "Bad Ass Habits" by Jen Sincero was a helpful guide for sticking to habits. Enjoy!
These two books has been an eye opening for me and changed how I work and manage people - Rework by Jason Fried & DHH (Basecamp) - Primed to Perform by Lindsay McGregor & Neel Doshi Also one book that I did not yet read, I hope I can read it this year, this book is also about the work culture: No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention by Erin Meyer and Reed Hastings Since I experienced the burnout recently and yeah the feeling of losing excitement in things that we know we love doing is really disturbing, so thanks for recommending the War of Art! Obviously putting it top of my reading list, also I think I will read Willpower and Effortless too, thanks Matt!
Last year I read a book a month. However when I reread those books this year I found out how missed so many things from the book. Now I am all about quality of reading over quantity of books.

When you wonder why you haven't been seeing Matt's videos and then you realize you aren't subscribed on your new channel. This is like getting to watch Matt all over again haha
Tks for the recommendations. In the past I’ve had books on the go but work and parenthood put paid to that. But this year I promised myself I’d read a bit more. This video has prompted me to get on with it - One Bright Moon and Shoe Dog are winging their way to me as I type.
Some of the books I read recently and would highly recommend to anyone are "Empire of Pain" by Patrick Radden Keefe, "Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men" by Caroline Criado-Perez and "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir. The first two are eye opening pieces of non-fiction, the last one is yet another page-turner by Weir.
Great video Matt. My tip for your reading in 2022 is to read more books authored by women. It's something I'm actively doing. Two fantastic books I read in 2021 authored by women were Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez and The Biggest Bluff by Maria Konnikova. Happy reading people!
"Outcasts United" by Warren St. John is a book I recommend as often as I can. It's about a youth soccer club started by immigrants from the Middle East and Eastern Europe in a United Nations refugee resettlement center in the Deep South. Describes each player's background and their journey to America, but also the new challenges they face as a group of immigrants who just want to live and play organized soccer/football in an insular southern town. So so so good.
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson, I read this book a few years ago after not reading anything since high school (about 14 years) and didn't really absorb it. I re-read it last year and I am seeing big improvements in my life where I have applied the lessons from that book. I am currently reading his follow up book Everything Is F*cked and am enjoying that too. Next on the list is Will by Will Smith with Mark Manson, and I am looking forward that because, well, "what you see on the surface is only a glimpse into the reality", and I think that is an important lesson, alongside learning more about Will Smith, he's just cool. Another great video!
It's really interesting to see the connections between the books you read and the changes in slow growth and your online presence. The Last good book I read was Creative Quest by Questlove and I recommend it if you like to ponder the question what is creativity and are somewhat into music. One of the few books that's worth listening to as well.
Brother first of all I like the way you have explained about books I recommend you to read 1:Money the game by Tony Robbins 2: Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins 3: You can negotiate everything by Herb Cohan 4: The richest man in Babylon 5: Limitless by Jim kwik
It puts you into a state where nothing matters in a good way. You truly don't give a shit about anything and you're just happy as fuck as a result, because nothing matters. Nothing matters, nothing means anything, there's nothing to do, there's no point, there's no goal but there's also no boredom, there's no negative meanings attached to the meaninglessness, it's just perfectly meaningless and it's awesome. You're basically just like sitting like a cat on a windowsill enjoying whatever experience is before it, just being and it feels amazing.
Hey Matt, it is always helpful to see what books creators and reading and benefitting from. Good to Great and Effortless were two books I got Into last year. The effortless book particularly has had a big impact, so much so I did a review on it myself, picking out some key takeaways. Greg also did the book essentialism which is one of my top 10 productivity books of all time, so I would recommend that. As ever loved how you produced and put together the video, looking forward to the next one😀 PS: like u reading has historically be a bit of a struggle for but it is a game changer to help refuel as u give out. Last year I read about 12, which seems a good rhythm - one a month
Great video as always!! “Will” was my #1! The audio version was unreal…could not stop listening until it was over. Then went buy the hardcover to re-read!! I’m on a similar reading journey
Ive hated reading in highschool. But during my gap year i was bored to death doing nothing and found a book my sisters friend left at the house. It was The last Lecture by Randy Pausch. Damn that book reads so easily and yet very meaningful. I have then read Laura Hillenbrand's Seabiscuit and Unbroken. After a while i read Jon Krakauers books into the Wild and Into thin Air. And just like that, Biographies/Autobiographies/Memoir became my favorite genre. I liked Shoe Dog, Greenlights, Born a Crime, This is going to Hurt, Heart: A history, Henrietta Lacks, When breath becomes air. I have just bought Walter isaacson's Einstein and Da vinci biographies. Happy reeading!
You won’t believe this, but honestly, I had the intention of taking some books that I have recently read, stacking them, taking a photograph of them, and talking about them on Facebook. I didn’t do that, though, because I decided to stay focused working on a large project on which I’ve been making a great deal of progress. I’ve actually taken that book photograph on Twitter some years ago, however, it’s much more important that I’ve read these books and that I’ve learned from them. Congratulations on realizing your goal! Happy reading to us all! Also, I truly enjoyed this video. 😍
I might be picking up a couple of these books this year. If you are a fan of music, there’s a series called 33 1/3 that goes in depth on a specific album for each book. The one I’ll recommend is the 33 1/3 on “Donuts” by J Dilla. The book breaks down the processes that went into the making of one of the best instrumental hip hop albums of all time and how the artist’s passing impacted the album’s meaning. Super good book and a quick read (only 130ish pages).
Thank you so much for recommending the last and you most valuable book. As I come from China, it is so much emotional feelings for me to read this book. After your mention this book, I found it was not allowed to read. So I read it carefully and cried several times. Hope someday people here can be truly blessed
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle this book really gave me a perspective on my own behaviour and that of others. I read it every year to give me perspective and inspiration. I love how even in his words you can sense his tranquility and peace. It makes me calm and focused. Seriously couldn’t recommend it more!!
Favorite thing to do is read, so glad to have some new recommendations! Mine for you is a fiction novel, the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I read it recently on holiday and thought it was absolutely amazing. That's the most recent... Other faves are Giovannis Room (imo the most beautiful book ever written) by James Baldwin and either Neverwhere or American Gods by Neil Gaiman, but tbh you cant go wrong with any of his books ☺ Great video! I'm so passionate about books and reading, I'm so pleased when others enjoy it too ❤
it's hard to get reading, because it doesn't grab your attention as easily as the internet does, but once you do make it a habit and get pulled in, it's great
I loved the inspiration it gave me to keep reading more books this year. I'm also on the same boat as you as I didn't read a lot of books until college. The books I have right now are: No One Ever Told Us That (John D. Spooner), The Psychology of Money (Morgan Housel), Hot Right Now (Awwwards), and Skin in the Game (Nassim Nicholas Taleb). I still have to start 2 of them, but this video has inspired me to make plans to read them all.
You read some really good stuff! Several that I've read and enjoyed and several I'm putting on my list. I'm so glad you are back in a reading routine. 📚😊📚💜
I really want to actually get myself to read ahhhh. Like I love reading but the moment I have school stress or am at all busy reading goes out the window. I was going to read a book this reading break but didn't even start it and now my break is over😒 But this totally gave me motivation to actually read it. I'm going to start it tonight!!
I read a lot (42 books last year) and do a blog post listing of my reads but now I’m inspired to say what I’ve learned or a quote I like. Also, a book I re-read often is Who Moved My Cheese? It’s quick and easy but I always get something different from it based on where I am in life. I’ve added In Order to Live to my (very long) ToRead list!
Great video! Inspiring me to want to read more as well. Books that stuck with me for a long time after finishing them were "Open" by Andre Agassi and "I am Malala: The Girl who stood up for Education and was shot by the Taliban" by Malala Yousafzai (also on Spotify btw). I usually don't read autobiographies and rather enjoy fiction (strong recommendation in that department: "The peacock" by Isabel Bogdan) - if I get myself to read at all after university kind of "took that joy away from me" - but these two books really touched me.
This is water by David Foster Wallace - You can read it in probably 2 hours maximum. It's actually a commencement speech that is transcribed into a book because of how simple it is. Check it out and happy reading!
I love this video and am always so great to see what you came up with this time. This video is so refreshingly honest, I love that you also involved two books saying you read them because you enjoyed it, and that is all that counts. I would recomend "Educated" and "The unbarable lightnes of being". I loved both so much and it might be something for you too.

Nice recommendations! I'm adding a couple of those to my "Want to Read" list. It's good to have small goals in reading. I tend to have two separate goals. Read at least 1 page a day, I end up reading at least 3. Read 26 books this year. I can recommend reading: Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st-Century Economist Rethinking about how the economics work and how they not necessarily help our environment.
Reading is incredibly important. I try to read at least 20 pages a day and I advise you to start doing the same. Reading should become a regular habit for you.
Loved this!! I also read Yeonmi's book last year. If you're interested in more NK escape books I would recommend "The Girl with Seven Names" by Hyeonseo Lee and "A River in Darkness" by Masaji Ishikawa. Both are different yet powerful stories of life in NK and their journeys out. Other books I enjoyed were: - Man's Search for Meaning - Viktor Frankl - The Happiest Refugee - Anh Do - Can't Hut Me - David Goggins ( I prefered the audiobook) - Falling Leaves - Adeline Yen Mah

It's not about the amount of books you read.
It's not about how many books you've read in one month or one year; it's about how much you've learned from them and applied to your life. 😊

Hey Matt,
I wanted to realy thank you for your video 1 year ago about reading. 10/10 can recommend
Sooo...

Had a quick look at your channel. You've got cool thumbnails 👌🏻
@@IevaKambarovaite hey, thanks so much! I appreciate that a lot!
Already five books into my 2022 reading goals! Keep it up everyone if you're on the same journey.
Not skipping your videos because every second is worth it. 💯 QUALITY!

@@commerceusa I've always wanted to trade crypto but got confused with the fluctuations in price
Yea! Hamza always mentions that in his Videos
100 % they ruin it
I was the exact same.
Matt sounded so cute & innocent when he said “Don’t do that” at 3:06 😅In awe of his genuine awwdorableness🫣❤️
Book 4. Willpower is so important, motivation is only temporary but drive is what keeps you going
My Top 3 Books of All Time:
1. Think and Grow Rich - N. Hill
2. Mastery - R. Greene
3. How to Win Friends & Influence People - D. Carnegie
After reading these 3 books, I never read any other self-help books anymore. Mastery is for finding that skill you'll be good at and Think and Grow Rich is how to apply that skill. While How to Win Friends & Influence People is how to deal with people, because in the end we still need to know how to deal with others. Hope this help! Thanks for the great video!
“Be careful how you treat people on the way up, because you might meet them again on the way down…” - Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars
Not reading a book because you do not align with all ideals of its writer would limit your perspective to the opinion of those in your own reference group. Everyone has something to teach us, it is our choice whether we are ready to learn.
Let My People Go Surfing by Yvon Chounard (founder of Pategonia) - great ready, especially for business owners. Thanks for another great video Matt.
Fully agree with "Will" . I just finished it and it was so entertaining. I loved it. Reading about his childhood and his life was inspiring.
I look at these videos to just motivate myself to start reading, no matter the genre of the book. Who else is like me?
same here, building a reading habit is my goal for this year
I wish to be 🙂

5:20-5:28 i love it when everyday Matt shines through! you make me laugh
Tuesdays with Morrie is a brilliant book. A short and easy read that’ll bring you to tears
And I just made a video about how I struggled to finish one book. That's right. ONE. And this video pops up. Great video Matt but why you gotta do me like that...

I read ‘Good to Great’ last year also! It’s one of the best motivational business books ever.
Enjoy!
Love that book and love John Green. I’ve read almost all of his books ❤️
I can confirm that the overwhelming majority of houses in Australia do NOT get sold at auctions. We do love a good auction here and there though.
These two books has been an eye opening for me and changed how I work and manage people
- Rework by Jason Fried & DHH (Basecamp)
- Primed to Perform by Lindsay McGregor & Neel Doshi
Also one book that I did not yet read, I hope I can read it this year, this book is also about the work culture: No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention by Erin Meyer and Reed Hastings
Since I experienced the burnout recently and yeah the feeling of losing excitement in things that we know we love doing is really disturbing, so thanks for recommending the War of Art!

7:37 sounds like he’s imitating Kermit the frog and I’m all here for it 😂
Great video Matt. Also your music game is through the roof. Cheers from Portugal
Psychology of money - Talks about the relationship with money. Insightful and easy to read.
Recommendations:
Fiction: Project Hail Mary
Non-Fiction: The Kid Stays in The Picture (go audiobook for this one!)
big big fan of the kermit voice, let's keep that going
I usually setup my base TBR on goodreads, books I have to read in a year and then just inject adhoc reads based on mood. Good going for 16 books.
Brother first of all I like the way you have explained about books
I recommend you to read
1:Money the game by Tony Robbins
2: Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins
3: You can negotiate everything by Herb Cohan
4: The richest man in Babylon
5: Limitless by Jim kwik
As ever loved how you produced and put together the video, looking forward to the next one😀
PS: like u reading has historically be a bit of a struggle for but it is a game changer to help refuel as u give out. Last year I read about 12, which seems a good rhythm - one a month
waiting for video when you talk about how you read and do analysing books 😌!)
Super good book and a quick read (only 130ish pages).
the war of art is a book that is always in my backpack, every now and then i pick it up, must fight the resistance 👊🏼
Thank you so much for recommending the last and you most valuable book. As I come from China, it is so much emotional feelings for me to read this book. After your mention this book, I found it was not allowed to read. So I read it carefully and cried several times.
Hope someday people here can be truly blessed
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
this book really gave me a perspective on my own behaviour and that of others. I read it every year to give me perspective and inspiration. I love how even in his words you can sense his tranquility and peace. It makes me calm and focused. Seriously couldn’t recommend it more!!

"Er my gad, a minimalist reading about Nike!" love it.
Favorite thing to do is read, so glad to have some new recommendations! Mine for you is a fiction novel, the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I read it recently on holiday and thought it was absolutely amazing. That's the most recent...
Other faves are Giovannis Room (imo the most beautiful book ever written) by James Baldwin and either Neverwhere or American Gods by Neil Gaiman, but tbh you cant go wrong with any of his books ☺
Great video! I'm so passionate about books and reading, I'm so pleased when others enjoy it too ❤
matthew perry's "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir", is a mind-blowing book and one hell of a read. hope you like it, too.
it's hard to get reading, because it doesn't grab your attention as easily as the internet does, but once you do make it a habit and get pulled in, it's great
We need more videos about books 📚!!!
Thank U so much for sharing. You really inspired to me to read biography books!!
"The Art Of Impossible" by Steven Kotler is a great read. Goes in depth on the science of flow state and how to reach peak performance more often.
My two favorite books
1 kitchen confidential by Anthony Bourdain
2 The millionaire fast lane by M. J Demarco
You should read Kindred, it's a sci-fi about traveling back in the time of slavery and it really got me wondering about history.
omg i loved the cameo from kermit the frog 07:38 haha
for real tho what a great video idea! would love to see another next year ^-^
Malcolm Gladwell’s audio version of his book “The Bomber Mafia” is amazing. I listened to it over a 6 hour road trip.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'm adding more books to my ever growing list of must-reads.

I can recommend reading: Doughnut Economics: Seven Ways to Think Like a 21st-Century Economist
Rethinking about how the economics work and how they not necessarily help our environment.
Reading is incredibly important. I try to read at least 20 pages a day and I advise you to start doing the same. Reading should become a regular habit for you.
Legit the first 40 seconds of this video was a perfect description of my past. Good to know I'm not the only one who did that :')
Other books I enjoyed were:
- Man's Search for Meaning - Viktor Frankl
- The Happiest Refugee - Anh Do
- Can't Hut Me - David Goggins ( I prefered the audiobook)
- Falling Leaves - Adeline Yen Mah
I was just watching some of your old videos. And then there is this new video!
You did an interview you say? Like Ground Up? Fingers crossed. Keep up the good work either way mate!
growing up hate reading 😅This line true for us too😅😝
I start reading after my breakup😅Now I'm going read every day books my best friend now❣️made me feel happy relaxation ❣️
Just finished my first Book of the year "Sapiens : A brief history of humankind" Highly informative and covers topics ranging from human evolution, social commentary, geo politics and the road ahead in terms of technology.
Highly recommend it ! 👍
Nice I had that on my list last year but didn't get to it! Will def try this year.
