Gone Girl!! - kinda late to the trend but LOVED it
Jenn Im I would recommend Mark Manson‘s books „The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck“ and „Everything is Fucked to everybody. They are so different from many mainstream books because he has so many new ideas...So they would probably be the best for me 🤔❤️

Never Eat Alone, i never feel bored when i read it, i think you already read it
I just finished Pachinko! Such an incredible, heart wrenching book about 4 generations of a korean family from 1910-1989. It goes through the family’s life, hope, and suffering through Japanese colonialism and the war, and what it’s like to live in Japan as a Korean immigrant. I would highly recommend it!!

Hi Jenn! I finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyne Hugo last month after putting it off for so long since I usually don't read that type of book. I did occasionally think if you recommending it when I was browsing for another book in a book store. And then finally I said 'whatever' and bought it! OH MY GOD. It has been one of the best books I have read in my life. I cried twice and felt all the heartache and enjoyed it! A complete game-changer and it opened up a whole new world of books to me. Thank you. I will cherish it forever.

I need to read more :( I used to read a lot in high school and I’m trying to start it back up again (currently reading Game of Thrones). Between the world and me sounded like a really good read! My university is starting up a book club specifically promoting authors of color. I will mention it to them ☺️

I am studying for the MCAT to go to medical school, and before I got serious about studying, I was able to read When Breath Becomes Air, and let me tell you. My literal favorite book on earth and I will carry those lessons with me throughout my life and hopefully my career as a physician. I read it because of YOU, thank you so so much.

“In Order to Live” by Yeonmi Park and “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah are good POV books living in North Korea and South Africa ❤️
I re-read George Orwell’s 1984 a few weeks back and I highly recommend! Some elements in the book are eerily similar to today’s world...it’s a trip!

Hey just as an fyi Book of The Month had an issue where they deleted a black woman’s comment on instagram when she asked how they were going to do better in response to their post relating to BLM. Not many booktubers are supporting book of the month anymore for that problem.
Jenn-- I love your book recommendations but have you looked into Book of the Month's practices? Many Black voices in the book club and bookstagram community (particularly thestackpod) questioned Book of the Month. People questioned the company's major lack of Black authors and representation, even within their own employees. Book of the Month then proceeded to block these Black voices (blocking their accounts, deleting their questions) and refused to acknowledge their legitimate questions. They only provided some strange half-apology on IG after people started unsubscribing. It's disappointing to see you accept sponsorship from a company that purposely silences the important questions we need answered.

When you were talking about solitude, it reminded me of how I have been feeling very unproductive since my summer plans were changed. I had a hard time with that but when I had to self-isolate, I realized it was okay to just stare at the ceiling or out the window. God gave me the space to just think and process, which was something I really needed. Thank you for the reminder. I hope you’re doing well and let’s talk soon!
