Just want to say I appreciate the format of this video. The information is presented with clarity and cohesion, and the sentence structure is balanced and precise. As someone who teaches writing, I’d give it high marks. Now I’m going to go practice some lance combos.
Lance is a weapon I’m still learning now, but now have 70 hours using on a fresh character. So far been enjoying it a lot and it is nice to play something so different from my other two weapons of choice, those being dual blades (my most played) and the switch axe (not as experienced, but wild axe swings go brrr).
Guard Up isn't really necessary. You can hold Power Guard for 2 seconds to achieve the same effect as Guard Up. You only need Guard Up if the monster's unblockable attack doesn't have a charge-up or is instantly fired off.
In my eyes the greatest sin a person can do when it comes to monster hunter. Is say that a weapon is bad. Sure every person has their own preferences when it comes to what they like to play. But no weapon is bad, only the person using the weapon is bad. It's all game knowledge and skill level. Even if you pick up a weapon and think to yourself, "how the fuck does anybody use this thing and have fun?" Just remember, that the reason you feel that way, is because you probably suck. I've learned how to play every weapon type in the game. I have 5 weapons that I can say I'm good enough to pseudo Speedrun with. I've learned the others but I have my preferences. I suck with charge blade, I'm not particularly good at switch axe either. And the only ranged weapon I play is bow, as I find the bowguns boring. None of those weapons are bad. In fact they are all incredibly good. I just don't like the playstyle, or I suck at playing them. I am also an SnS main btw. True giga chads know SnS true power. I Speedrun with SnS, HH, and IG.
Main reason I do these reviews is that, although every weapon can be used to its maximum potential by a skilled hunter, I've hunted with so many random hunters which convinced me that the average hunter doesn't know what they're doing. I just want to make sure that they know full well what they're going to go through. Not everyone is willing nor have the time to properly learn the game, at least I'll point them to an experience that will not make them miserable.
@@carlstirlingschannel yeah, I agree. Whenever I play in multiplayer, it is unfortunately a rarity to encounter someone that is extremely good at the game. The skill gap between the bottom and top of the player base is HUGE in monster hunter. It's not really a big deal and it doesn't upset me or anything. Especially in someplace like guiding lands because there is no death cap. But I do get pretty annoyed when I decide to join someone's hunt to help them, and one of the other randoms that joins just wastes all of the lives. Beyond just playing weapons well. The amount of people I have seen that are past Mr100 and don't know how to use the slinger or how to flinch shot is baffling to me. It feels like in 90% of my multiplayer hunts I'm the only one that is flinch shotting, and using my clutch claw to extend clagger windows. I just wish I didn't have to be the only person in my hunts that knows about these things.
I can count the number of times I have gone into a Raging Brachy SOS and NOT been the only person removing the red slime on one finger. That one time was a great hunt. Most of them are pretty miserable, but I keep going back because I really like fighting Raging Brachy. I should try taking Lance to that fight and see how it goes.
its funny how one of the most aggressive weapon is also the most defensive
I love Lance so much. Its been my main from the very beginning.

Nice video. Thank you.
Mounting attack has 360 aim. It has long reach and can mount monsters during their attacks because the weapon taps them from outside their reach.
Yep, I love this attack on the lance lol

Oh I did mention power guard having that effect, but I'm not good at playing lance lol. Guard up just makes things easier
Over 10,000 hours in world with solo lance...I agree
