I've had this cover for almost 10 years and the rivets broke twice so far. Today being one of the times. I repaired them again this time only I used stainless steel rivets over the steel I used last time. Originally it came with aluminum rivets. Not sure what brilliant engineer thought that up. Whole design how the bracket is fixed to it could of been a lot better. Could of even molded a plate into the cover. I love the cover alot but this is ridiculous
It is the original piece that was already there. If you lost it/missing it, I think it's easy to make. As it is a very simple shape. You can make a template of the other side, get similar gage metal piece and cut it out/grind it out to size and bend the tip (making same size hole for the lock). Otherwise, I am not sure if you can order this somewhere separately.
Like the one @ 0:10min in the video? If so, it's exactly the same concept... Detach the shock, follow same process. Choose a very good quality bonding glue, as that spot experiences even more pressure. And give more time to dry, like 24-48hrs.
A thief shook the crap out of mine and broke both hinges. But the hinges were corroded and need replacing. Are new hinges sold? I tried messaging them but no answer back
If hinges are exactly like this you can make your own. Find a heavy gage metal or similar bracket at Home Depot (for different purpose) and bend it, drill holes for rivets and all and do the same process as seen here. It may be complex finding something similar but think outside the box! Maybe find another broken cover and see if hinges are similar?.. I wish you luck!
Buy a variety pack, you will always find it useful... I do not remember. I had a verity pack set. Some of each size that came in a pack and I just physically compared them side by side, and used which ever worked best.

Take it popping the stainless steel rivets with the gun takes a shit ton of force. Two hands and maybe a shoulder lol
